It's been deemed an assassination attempt. We have devolved into a "shit hole third world country" as the result of the orange beast's encouragement.
It's sickening and frightening and I'm so so anxious about the upcoming elections.

And just like that, my DH got up and is grabbing leaves in the front yard. And I can change the channel.

I’m really not surprised. To me it wasn’t a matter of if but when with so much violent rhetoric being thrown around for the last six years, especially by the MAGA crowd for the last two. I truly hope Mr. Pelosi has a complete recovery. IMO when Hillary called them a basket of deplorables she was being far too kind.

I don’t get! It is wel known how wealthy the Pelosi’s are .why wouldn’t they pay for a private secure company for him at all times? She ha her own government detail but it doesn’t protect him unless he is with her and only after her first! Protect the man, he’s your husband, spend the money! He’s deserves to insist they do this as a couple so he isn’t used against her.

Probably when the house was breached when the back door was broken.
As suggested at the very brief news conference..
When police arrived both the intruder and Mr Pelosi were holding the hammer. The intruder gained full possession and started hitting Mr Pelosi with the hammer at which time the police tackled and took down the intruder.
It was not made clear if the intruder had attacked before the police arrived, although he was inside the house before ...
Is this all actual fact, who knows? But is what was said.

No guesswork involved. Local news was reporting right off the bat that the intruder told Paul Pelosi he was looking for Nancy. (Because why wouldn’t he? Republican politicians have been encouraging violence again Democrats for months now.) The Mercury-News is now reporting he has a long social-media history of Qanon support, anti-semitism, and the like. I’d be interested in hearing more about these “reporters” who were “robbed” right in front of Pelosi’s Pacific Heights home. Not that it could never happen, but it seems really, ya know, convenient. Right-wing activists have a long history of setting up fake situations to tape and exploit. I tried searching it, and google literally told me there were no matches for “reporter robbed in front of Pelosi home.” leftturnonlyAnd I’d like to add, the news is saying Paul Pelosi is still in surgery. This attack happened almost 12 hours ago. He may not have gone into surgery until much later, but still, I find this news scary and ominous. The man is 82 years old. |
