I have no tattoos. I will never have tattoos. They are just not my thing at all. My four kids all have tattoos. My sons were in the Navy, and while my oldest was stationed in Japan for 4 years, he got so many tattoos. LOL My daughters have a couple each, but they are small and just black/skin toned. My oldest daughter has a few on her arm, my other daughter only has two--one on her ankle and one on her rib cage. It's kind of fun sometimes to see my kids "bond" over tattoos. LOL Last winter, a local tattoo place had a one day "sale," and two of my kids went together to get a new one. My parents are very judgey about my kids tattoos. But I don't care, they are judgey about everything, so....LOL

I don't care at all what they'll look like when I'm 80, I hate that dumb argument. Me too.. I figure if that's all I have to worry about when I'm 80, I'll be doing pretty good. I have one on my back right shoulder that says "I carry your heart with me / I carry it in my heart / I am never without it". In memory of my parents. This summer my sisters and I were all at the beach together and finally said we'd do a matching tattoo with each other. Our parents' initials were J and S, so we made a stylized K out of that (first letter of our maiden name), and in the curve of the J there is a 3, for three of us. I really like it. It's on my right arm (not bicep, inner) and can be hidden easily if I want to. That was my youngest sister's first tattoo, my second, and the middle sister is up to about 15 now.

I have 2. A dragonfly comprised of my kids initials on my ankle and a north star and waning crescent moon on my upper wrist area. My DD has 1 with plans for another. Either one of her dog's ears or a plane in memory of my dad. My YDS, in the Navy has 2 large ones. One on his upper chest and one on his forearm.
A little side story here: My mom and I were talking about YDS and this girl he is seeing/talking to. They are 1000 miles apart. She lives in my town and was his HS sweetie. I said something along the lines that I wouldn't be surprised if she was part of our family at some point. Even though DD doesn't like her, nor will anyone ever be good enough for her little brother. My mom said well you need to learn to bite your tongues, you can't choose who they love. Then she said "well, it could be worse. She could be someone with multiple tattoos and piercings. That's just so trashy and cheap." Ohhhh, ok, so I am trashy and cheap. "no, I didn't...well I am entitled to my opinion and to think what I want to think." so you think I am trashy and cheap. "well, I..." to which I finally said mom, I love you and hope you have a happy Thanksgiving. And she hung up. She finally called me last Friday to tell me something. Did I get an apology, did she sound sorry? No, it was as if it never happened. AND I am still hurt. My DH told me I need to make it right. Why? I did nothing wrong. I will not make it right. So all that conversation did, with her, was enforce the desire for another tattoo. I have an out of the country project swirling in my head for 2024 and I plan to get one for that.

Dh, ds, and I do not. All of my siblings have tattoos. All of my nieces, except the 12 year old, have tattoos, none of my nephews do.

I have one.
A few years my son asked me to write a short phrase in Hebrew (in my handwriting) for him. His plan is to have it tattooed inside his forearm someday. He’ll know when the time is right.

DH has one and I have 3 (so far). Our children are still younger but his boys that are adults have at least 5 a piece, with one son having huge ones on his back.

I have a small one on my wrist and plan to get two more (also small). DH has none. My dd (27) has 3 that are all small. My son (23) has one on his chest and it's pretty big.

I have a half sleeve on my left arm and one on my hip, one on my calf, and one on my ankle. My only child is all tatted up....a full sleeve and a bunch of others on her ribs, arm, leg, ankle, and foot.

I have 5 - all 4 of my kids have tattoos (my youngest DD literally got one on her 18th birthday last weekend) - no judgment here! I'm not so much into body piercings, and my oldest DD has a nose ring and that's it for my kids.

No tattoos for me. Doubt it'll ever happen as I have a fear of needles and can't think of anything that I would want permanently marked on my body (I remember when I was younger and bought a jacket that could be embroidered with an image, I ended up with a random wolf because I just couldn't come up with anything/none of the options jumped out at me).
3 kids, two have tattoos though ironically they both are tiny. Son got a happy face on his leg when his fiancee got a more intricate design. Youngest daughter has the word "hop" on her hip. She really wants another real tattoo. For the past two years she has said she wanted a beetle but recently changed her mind. Thankfully tattoos are expensive so she can't jump the gun too fast. She asked my mom for money to pay for one for Xmas, but mom said no to that so she's getting an eyebrow piercing instead.
Interestingly my sister who was raised much more conservatively than me (14 years younger, different mothers. Her mom is very religious whereas mine is extremely liberal) has full sleeves. Some of the things she's chosen are interesting, but there are some that I question why she chose that image.

I'm sorry, Nabster. I get it. It always chaps my hide that people have huge opinions on people who have tattoos, but the people who have tattoos don't seem to judge those who lack them. It's stupid. I hope you get the tattoo you want and know it'll be fantastic. <3

Neither my DH or I have one. He has talked about it, but he doesn't like needles, lol. I thought about getting one but could never decide on anything I wanted for the rest of my life.
My youngest DD (22) has one. It is a large raven on her left shoulder blade. It is gorgeous. She's wanted one for a while, so after she graduated college, she treated herself.

I don't care at all what they'll look like when I'm 80, I hate that dumb argument. YES!! LOL. I think you are like me in healthcare, so we see A LOT of tattoos that are in all sorts of places, and ages. and trust me, I don't think they look at worse or better then some of the newer ones. The older tattoos I don't think had had the talent like they do these days. So I think that's a lame excuse. though there has been many a time I've wanted to ask someone..WHY? just why that? LOL I do not have any tattoos. I don't plan on getting any. My girls want too. I don't care if they do, I only asked that they live a little before they get one. I don't feel like a 25 yr old and younger should be deciding on something like that without really living. My dh wants to get a number 3 on his arm. I really don't care.

I had one booked for my 50th and it was cancelled due to covid and I haven't booked in again. Both my sisters have several and my nieces do. Several of my daughters friends had one for their 18th. She hasn't yet. But I don't think it will be long until she has one. My mum and dad are anti tattoos, especially on women. But they are learning that their prejudices are no longer valid. Dh is not a fan and would not choose one for himself, but has said that as long as its done professionally and not on the face, he has bigger worries for the kids.

Neither myself or DH have any. 1 of my kids has at least one and I wasn't pleased when I saw it. Grown adult though, so that is their choice. They knew I was displeased, so if they have anymore, I haven't seen it.

Both dh and I have 3. My oldest dd has 3 as well. My youngest dd has 5 or 6 I think.
I am planning on getting one on my spine where I have an 8-inch scar once it is healed. I want the word "Strength" with lotus flower at the top.

Neither my husband or I have tattoos. I’ve been thinking about maybe getting my son’s birthdate tattooed on me but I haven’t really made any decisions on style or placement. I don’t think my husband would ever get a tattoo.
My son is not even two yet so no tattoos for him but once he’s 18 it’s his body and he can do what he wants with it.

I have none. I want one, but can't decide what to get and where to put it. I know I mentioned what I was considering in a post here and I got some terrific ideas from the peas. I'm still considering it. I've just been so overwhelmed with the packing and moving that I didn't do anything.
My son has one arm totally done from wrist to shoulder. He also has wording on his stomach. He said he made sure nothing showed when he had a dress shirt on just in case he needed to dress up and cover them. His arm started with the Mayo Clinic buildings rising up out of the clouds because they saved his life there and he thought it would be a good beginning. Then it branches up into music notes and a vintage mic to pay tribute to his band years. He found an artist that he preferred and had the Mayo buildings covered over with a rose and my dad's name on one petal and my mom's on another. There is wording under each of their names as well.
He had chosen what he wanted under my father's name and unfortunately mentioned it to my mom within earshot of my niece. Within a week, she was showing everyone that she had my father's name and the saying my son had chosen tattooed onto the top of her foot. Then she went ahead and had my mother's name put on the top of her other foot. They were done by two different artists. And I use the word 'artist' for hers very loosely. Her tattoos are terrible. The writing is sloppy and Mom's name slants downward, finishing on the side of her foot and the letters getting smaller as she realized she was running out of room. And since the writing on each name doesn't match each other that makes them look even worse. She said she didn't pay much and it shows. I think you get what you pay for and in a tribute like this, you really need to make sure they are done very well. My mother hates them.
My niece got upset when she saw what my son designed for himself and the fact that he had the names and phrases written somewhat small but perfectly neat following the outer edge of a rose petal because my mother loved roses. She wanted hers to look better. My son wanted so much to tell her she shouldn't have rushed to get the first person she could find to do hers just to steal his idea but he chose not to say anything. We all knew that it was his idea and the saying was something he came up with himself. If my niece would have said something to me about it, I would have gone ahead and told her that her rushing and taking my son's tribute was not a very kind thing to do.

I don't have any, I would but I'm a medical catastrophe and seem to collect scars. Plus I can't figure out what I'd get or where because I overthink everything. My daughter is the same and one of my sons has a big hatred for the thought of needles, but one of my sons does have a few..

Maybe someday I'll work up the courage!
I also really want a nose ring!

DD 20 has 3/ she got her first, a semicolon and lotus on her inner wrist at 16/17 and a small rainbow on her ribs at 18… her and her GF at the time did matching stick and pokes that are small (I only learned about that one the first time we were going to be somewhere she would be in a swimsuit!!
DD wants me to get one with her, I have a small drawing note she wrote me when she was little so would likely use that (if I muster up the courage)
