Panera has some good dressings that are low in calories and sugar. I like the Asian and the poppyseed. You can buy them at the store. Might be worth a try. Are they vegan? I think that will be the problem. I have been making a few of my own dressings, similar to the Bolthouse ones, but they all start with yogurt. I also make some others that have an oil base, and when you are eating wfpb, no oil or dairy. I don't eat a lot of dairy other than greek yogurt and eggs, so I am looking for some tasty salad dressings. I will look for recipes to make some as well. There are some on the Forks Over Knives website that I will eventually try, but I am hoping this one I bought from Fresh Thyme will be good. I love cauliflower, so my fingers are crossed.

I forgot to weigh myself this morning. I'm also too damn tired to exercise.
Ugh

I've worked out every day this week --- and I've not eaten out all week either. I don't know that I am losing any actual weight, but I feel so much better. There is some room to clean up my diet a bit but since we've been focusing on cleaning out the freezer + pantry, I haven't worried too much about it.

I’m glad I opened this thread, even if I am 5 days late. Thanks for the link to the yoga videos. I’ve had two different doctors recommend yoga to me, but I’ve just not found an instructor I liked.
Last year my doctor let me go 6 months between checkups instead of 3. I’ve failed miserably. I gained 6lbs instead of losing the 10 I was supposed to. I go see her next month where I’m sure I’ll find all of my numbers too high and I’ll have to go back to 3 month checkups. Ugh.
So I have a 6 week goal of losing those 6 lbs. Back to strict tracking of calories and carbs. I know it’s too late to lower my A1C, but if I can tell her what I’m doing to get back on track, maybe she won’t add on yet another medication.

I got 13,001 steps in yesterday. I was pretty happy with that. I plan to walk the dog on the flat area and will do much better than my direct area. I am going out for lunch and plan to eat a lot. I also have a gym reservation for 2 pm to do weights. Ugh. But I have to go today.

I started a "stair contest" in my office. We have to log the flights of stairs we walk during the day. At the end of each month the loser buys winner lunch, second loser buys runner up lunch, etc. I'm the old fat girl with a bunch of 30 year old crossfitters. It wasn't so much to win, just hold myself accountable and be able to smack talk a little as well. I've been going to the bathroom on the floor above me and walking up from the garage. It's small but it's something!!

I bought a Healthy Choice plant based dressing. I can't eat it. The one thing I spend calories on is good salad dressing. I have tried all the healthy ones. I can't eat them. Oh, that's a bummer. Why can't you eat them? I have loved the Bolthouse yogurt based dressings, but I am trying out whole food/plant based eating, and you can't have dairy. So I am definitely on the hunt for good salad dressings because I eat a lot of salad. Make up a batch of cashew ranch. Keeps well in the fridge and it's delicious. itdoesnttastelikechicken.com/vegan-cashew-ranch-dressing/#recipe (or there are lots of other recipes out there). If you haven't already realized this, you need a powerful blender like a Vitamix to do WFPB eating well.

Where are my YWA girls? Day 4 in the books. Yesterday was hard for me. Today was not as hard. I'd also like it known that I can now get off the floor from a criss-cross sit without using my hands. The last time this was discussed on the board, I could not quite do it, so I'm pleased with this evidence of my progress.

I was rather surprised but that isn’t all that surprising because I can reach the floor with my palms flat on the ground. My GP asked how far I could reach. I said yeah right to her. Then I did. Omg! She wasn’t surprised but I sure as heck was! Seriously surprised! I used to carry a tire in my mid section and it’s gone. You may not think that is significant but I was shocked as heck again. I learned the hard way if you want to lose weight you have to move.

I was a faithful Hatha yoga practioner and loved my yogis. I always had stiff (sore) thigh muscles and biceps like I had overdone it. Three times a week over a year and one might think I would have gained some flexibility and while I did in the moment later was an awful experience. I weighed the same as I do now and kept getting pain. I drink tons of water and green tea. Why do I have pain?

My weigh-in day is Saturday (because we have pizza on Saturday night, lol) and I lost .8 of a pound this week. I'm actually happy with that because I didn't try at all. Honestly, if I'd just get firm with myself I could probably lose a couple of pounds in one week. We're still eating up the rest of the holiday items -- cookies, etc. I think I need to just get them out of the house but my dh always says "oh don't throw those away". sigh. -- I also had a craving for white rice this week. Normally we've been eating cauliflower rice that I buy at Costco, the kind that's called "stir fry" so it has bits of vegetables in it. But I made Urvashi Pitre's French garlic chicken in the Instant Pot and this sauce just cried out for some real rice. lol. Anyway, I'm surprised I lost .8 of a pound. I'm trying to get back to walking. I subbed Mon-Wed this week so I got in plenty of steps and closed all the rings on my watch, but none of it was extended walking. So yesterday I told myself that I WAS going for a walk. Well I spent most of the day talking myself out of it. ugh. Then at about 4:30 I thought "this is ridiculous" and I texted a neighbor who has a VERY lively dog and asked if I could borrow her for a walk. They both work at home and were thrilled to have me take the dog for awhile, so off we went. Omg, she gave me a workout. lol. We walked 2 miles and it wasn't awful. I just hate walking by myself! I can't borrow the dog every day, but I plan to ask them if I can a couple of times per week. Today I'm going to go out walking very early. I think that's best for me because then it's over with for the day. My January challenge on my Apple watch is to walk at least 1.9 miles for 14 days in January. Not 14 in a row, just 14 at some point. Why 1.9? lol.. Why not just say 2. But anyway, I've done 5 so far because it's just counting distance throughout the day, not necessarily a walk of 1.9 miles. The other Watch challenge is the Ring in the New Year one where we have to close all rings for 7 days in a row. I need to get cracking on that so I don't run out of time. Tonight is pizza night so I need to keep an eye on what else I eat today. We eat the Milton's cauliflower crust one that comes frozen from Costco so it's fewer WW points than regular pizza. But still my portion is 17 points which is a lot when I only get 28 per day. And if I hadn't put myself on the diabetic plan on WW I'd only get 23! The diabetic plan has you counting points for fruit (which is zero on the regular plan) and dairy is more pointy. I did that to keep from eating too much fruit. I wish I could figure out how to like vegetables more.

My city and its suburbs have tons of them. Between the two I belong to, I have groups I could walk or run with with at least 5 days a week.

I started the new year with a new training program via the Kickoff app and so far I love it. I really feel like she listens to my goals and what I currently have going on in my life. She has me on a completely different training program with lots of new exercises, and between that and her recommendations on nutrition, I am feeling really good

If I cant take my dog with me then I hate walking outside. My solution is to find a podcast that I can truly get into and listen to or to call my sister and talk on the phone the whole time I walk. I walk (in the winter) at the same time each day so I treat it like an appt. I also get a year long goal of wanting to walk (like exercise walking, not just walking to the bathroom) the distance from my town to Chicago (924 miles) by the end of the year and figured out how much I have to walk each month to make it happen. I made a spreadsheet to log my distance each week. I am someone who needs specific goals and this helps me so much.

I think I'll copy you! I also need specific goals which is why I do better if I actually have someplace to walk to like the drug store or library or something like that. Unfortunately there aren't enough errands like that within walking distance.

There are some virtual distance challenges out there. I'm planning on doing a hiking one (they have 365 days = 365 miles, seasonal, a waterfall challenge, and a family challenge). I'm going to definitely do the summer and the waterfall one.
There is also a sesame street 100 or 500 mile challenge I've had my eye on.

Today I passed 12,000 steps and I am happy. I did well. Tomorrow is a gym day. If I haven’t finished my 10,000 by 5 I will walk there. Before I started walking there I was panting and I couldn’t walk home. Now it’s a fun challenge. Not if it’s raining, though.

I think I am going to have to shorted my distance I planned to walk. While I was setting a spread sheet up, I realized I didn't take into account being away from my Tread, it being stifling hot (or freezing cold) or being away out of town and not able to work extra. If I had left it the same milage I would have to be walking an absolute crap ton, lol. So now I am walking to where my family lives in Louisiana. 702 miles over the year, or right at 60 miles a month. I can do that.

And its frustrating bc when I bend over, my stomach pooch gets in my way . I don't feel more flexible, but my neck really does feel so much better, which is motivating to me to keep it up! I went swimming yesterday too, I really need to get back into that. that felt fantastic. So I am about .6 net down for the week, but trying to ease myself back into weighing and tracking.

First, make sure when you bend (forward fold) that you are bending/hinging from the hips and not the waist. Bend your knees as generously as needed. Don't be afraid to lift any flesh (belly pooch, for example), and move it as needed. When bending on the floor, for example in child's pose, bring your knees out to the edge of the mat instead of keeping them together. Same stretch but it makes room for belly and boobs. And always give yourself a lot of grace. I've been doing this for years and there are some things I simply can't do, or do as gracefully/smoothly, due to my body shape. Modify, modify, modify. It's all good! I really enjoyed Day 7 (yesterday) and I hope you will, too.

I think I have missed day 1 and day 8. So I will double up with those some point.

Weigh in day - down about 1.8 lbs. I need to drink more water and start exercising.
Does everyone pay any attention to those ‘10ths” of a pound or do you just round down and say you lost 1 lb. My scale’s app of course tracks it, but I feel like it’s not a full lb so it doesn’t really count and I’m just trying to make myself feel better.

Worked out 3 times, walked twice, tracked everything I ate, stayed in points/calorie range every day including the weekend. Only down .9. I was down almost 2. Gained back almost a pound yesterday. So frustrating.

Worked out 3 times, walked twice, tracked everything I ate, stayed in points/calorie range every day including the weekend. Only down .9. I was down almost 2. Gained back almost a pound yesterday. So frustrating. Do you weigh yourself every day? that is one thing NOOM taught me, to weigh every day. Bc I'd fluxuate so much throughout the week. If i just weighed 1x a week I wouldnt be aware of those fluxuations.
