😳 How terrible! So lucky that nobody got hurt, but yikes! Best of luck with insurance. Hopefully everything is covered.

Wow! My heart is in my throat, and I'm not even there. How terrifying!
I hope your rebuild goes as smoothly (and quickly!) as possible.

Oh no! I’m so thankful you, your husband and the dogs made it out. Hang in there - you must be in shock.

That is terrifying! So glad you are ok! Our neighbors front yard has a ginormous tree. I am constantly worried about something happening! It would crush our entire house. Our neighbors have a huge tree that is on a very steep slope between our homes. We have to make sure that we always have good turf coverage because I am really worried that it will come down. It is about 50 years old and a huge maple. The fact that it has a deep tap root helps but if that thing comes down, it will take out my garage and my kitchen.

I just saw a video on TikTok on the Oregonians page. Is this you? The tree cut the house in half!

OP, I’m so glad you’re all ok and sorry you’re going through this.
Sadly, there are many similar stories to the OP’s going on in Oregon right now. (I don’t know if she’s in OR or not.) While the TikTok could be hers, her story isn’t unique right now, so I wouldn’t jump to conclusions.

I watched the story and just immediately wondered if it was the me. Just shocking damage. Oh the force of Mother Nature!

I just saw a video on TikTok on the Oregonians page. Is this you? The tree cut the house in half! No, that wasn't me, but unfortunately, there are quite a few of us in this situation. I do know the house you're speaking of, and yes, I am in Oregon. We were riding the elevator in our hotel down to breakfast over the weekend and everyone in it was a displaced "tree person"! Due to widespread demand, it took a week to find a company to work on the tree and tarp the roof and by then, the rain had begun, increasing the damage. It's disheartening, but it's just stuff, and we're still marveling at the fact that we're alive. We meet with the insurance adjusters (contents and structural) tomorrow, and I'm curious how we compare to what they've seen already and about how much time is reasonable to expect to rebuild. Our rental has been booked for three months based on photos submitted and I can't imagine that's nearly enough time. We should be in a rental house by the end of the week, and that will be a relief because our dogs are barking at every little sound in the hotel.

You have a terrific attitude towards it, but I can only imagine how stressful this must be! My daughter had a tree go into their roof and poke into the house from a storm, but the damage was no where near what you are experiencing! I hope all goes well for you with your home!

Oh man, I just saw this. I’m so sorry and so glad you guys are okay.
I have a friend in the West Hills of Beavert/portland who are in a similar situation. Their neighborhood just got hammered.

SO scary and stressful. I'm so glad you all made it out safely. The poor doggos must've been so confused. Our PNW neighborhoods are scary places during storms. I saw the one on the Oregonians page and it looked just like my MIL's street, just like so many split-level-under-fir-tree streets. Let's hope that the atmospheric river points at Vancouver Is for a while. Stuff is just stuff but it can also be precious and meaningful <3 Sending hugs.
