It's warmed up into the twenties here but has been snowing a little off and on. I've been craving Thai food and I think I need some spice in my life today. I've got thin strips of beef marinating and my veggies all cleaned and chopped for Thai Beef & Broccoli. I'm going to make some steamed rice to go with it. What are you having today?

We are going out to see on last holiday thing tonight with some friends, so we will probably go out to dinner with them. Either pizza or Chinese!

I'm going to my sister's house and will happily eat whatever she serves because that means I didn't have to cook. However, if she wants me to bring something, I think I'll make stuffed pumpkin. Since I have 8 baking pumpkins still sitting out in my garage!

Subject to finding them at the grocery store, we're having black eyed peas (not sure which exact recipe yet) and steamed rice. It's our new year's day tradition :-)
Whoever posted the recipe the other day for the chocolate cobbler- THANK YOU. I made it last night, holy guacamole was it good. So easy to throw together with simple ingredients. The only downside, it's probably about a gagillion calories per mouthful.

I am making leg of lamb, roasted cabbage, sweet potato and Sister Shubert called out to me as I was snaking through a lengthy line at the grocery store and because it's the holidays I felt compiled to forgo my diet and acknolowedge her.

We are having pot roast with carrots, green beans and the tiniest potatoes I've ever seen. I'm going to roast the potatoes. And gravy since I'm cooking. Dh doesn't make real gravy.

TJ's pizza dough works great on the grill, too. My dh makes pizza on our Big Green Egg w/it.

dh insists on cabbage and black eyed peas for new year's day so that's what we're having. Unstuffed cabbage and black eyed peas with bacon. The kids don't like either one so they'll be having hot dogs.

My DD and her family were coming for dinner but I didn't plan on making any dessert. DD texted me about 2:00PM and asked if we could please have dessert so I quickly threw this together. Yum, we had it with vanilla ice cream

So easy to throw together with simple ingredients. The only downside, it's probably about a gagillion calories per mouthful. If it was the pin I shared, it is amazingly good and easy isn't it?? I was going to make a trifle today, but I may make that instead. It is the perfect PMS food. PERFECT. I am making leg of lamb, roasted cabbage, sweet potato and Sister Shubert called out to me as I was snaking through a lengthy line at the grocery store and because it's the holidays I felt compiled to forgo my diet and acknolowedge her. If I was gay and knew Sister, I would marry her. I have never had a Sister's roll that I didn't love. The cinnamon rolls are so good I could eat the whole tray by myself. As for dinner around here, it is going to depend on who shows up. If it is just me, hoppin' john. If either or both of the boys show up, then the new menu will be bbq chicken (the sauce, not on the grill) mac and cheese and black eyed peas. With key lime pie and chocolate cobbler. Actually, regardless of whomever shows up, the chocolate will be had. The PMS monster is screaming at me.

We're having fried hog jowl and baked ham, black eyed peas, collard greens, turnip (roots), ham rice and cornbread. Yum yum! One of my favorite meals of the year!

I figure today is as good a day as any to make the crab legs I've had in the freezer forever. Plus, I'll be happy to have my freezer space back!

I can save you the trouble of looking for it...I just pulled up the pin so I could print the recipe once and for all. I make it enough that I really needed to have something I don't have to look up every time. Granny's Chocolate Cobbler

My variation on New Year's Day pork and sauerkraut this year is bratwurst, sauerkraut, German potato salad and spiced peaches (baked with red hots). For some reason, the idea of my traditional pork roast didn't appeal to me, so maybe I'll save that plan for another day.

I'm making pizza - white pizza with garlic and broccoli, I think.

It's almost the same as the 'chocolate pudding cake' recipe I have. I'd forgotten about it so I think I might make it tonight.

I'm torn between a traditional pork, black eyed peas and greens dinner or shrimp scampi. I'm leaning toward the shrimp even though I've had shrimp for the last two nights.

I am making coconut shrimp. Probably parmesan rice to go with it unless I have some half n half in the fridge, then I might make fettucine alfredo. And a salad and maybe garlic bread.
