Oh I don't know BarbaraUK. Would the American people know most of those celebrities do you think? Just trying to remember who I saw in the trailers.....Jonathan Ross, Joanna Lumley, Jennifer Saunders..... Dame Edna....oh my that will be a disaster for sure I read somewhere that Gok Wan is on it too. Oh and Lulu ! It starts a week tomorrow I think. Wednesday 11th ? Sounds like a fun line up. Dame Edna... can you imagine the aprons?
I think the Sewing Bee starts this week Thurs ?

DD & I watched the episode that aired Sunday night (I think) and loved it except the hosts/presenters drove us nuts when they put on accents. The whole show seemed so calm & civilized compared to the frantic pace that they edit American cooking shows. It was too funny to see the contestants sipping a cup of tea while a cake baked.

I just spent the snowstorm we just had watching season 4 and 5. Love this show. I think Paul Hollywood is a gorgeous man but I have read he is a bit of a sleaze.
This is a fabulous show and I hope they do a sixth season.
UK gals, has the 4th season of Mrs. Brown's boys started yet? Another fave!

As far as I know, the 4th series of Mrs Browns Boys hasn't started filming yet and there has been reports of them not knowing when they can fit in filming this year. I don't watch it though so am only going off what others have said.

It was a challenge, due the subtle nature of her hair style and outfit, but I think that I *may* have figured it out! I hope that PBS or the BBC carries it here for us!

I found it a couple of weeks ago and HELLO, I'm hooked! Paul Hollywood ... OMG! Those eyes and he looks amazing in blue!
Hubby is the cook in our house so last night he saw it for the first time ... I said "I'll watch it for the scenery, you watch it for the baking" ... he saw Paul and said "so that's the scenery?" LOL
I LOVE LOVE the civilness of it all - this is my England that I miss and that my parents speak of so beautifully. Even when they goof, it's so nice how they tell them that something basically sucks!

You can stream it with the PBS app! Free of charge. I finally watched all of Desserts today. Even though Baked Alaskagate was drama by UK standards, all in all, even that was quite civilized and Mary was so empathic with Ian that I almost cried. If it was a silly American show: 1) the other contestants would have gotten involved; 2) the judges would have been screaming, and 3) they would have found a way to keep him so that it could happen again and again, taking away from all the lovely baking. UK baking contest shows - 97% baking and 3% drama USA baking contest shows - 40% baking and 60% drama

I was under the impression that Ian's ice cream had been taken out of the freezer by one of the other contestants who they were retrieving their own, and they forgot to put his back in. He seemed really annoyed and surprised to find it out on the corner of Diane's (?) countertop. If it was caused by another contestant, they should have been penalized too. I've been mesmerized by Jordan's enormous yellow teeth. He seems like a sweet guy, but I can't concentrate on anything he says!!! Norman's lavender meringue - not surprised he was sent home. I can't imagine why he thought that was a good idea.

I'm trying to remember.....but apparently it was only out for a very brief period of time....it would have been in virtually the same state if she hadn't taken it out, in other words. There was a big furore about it and poor Diana took quite a lot of flack but Mary spoke in her defense quite clearly saying that it was a genuine error and that it actually didn't change the outcome. I believe Ian was ok with it in the end and everyone sang Kumbaya

I believe Ian was ok with it in the end and everyone sang Kumbaya Yes, and I also seem to remember reading on BBC News that Diana had removed Iain's ice cream from 'her' freezer where he had put it instead of into his own freezer but it had only been on the counter top for about 40 seconds before he picked it up and he later admitted to not handling pressure well. Diana left the series because of illness soon after that incident.....she had a fall during filming that left her with concussion and no sense of taste or smell.
