So, I was wondering what the heck had happened to this trial. Interestingly enough this link was posted today! Jodi Arias
Is there anyone in the area of the trial that has heard anything?

This is a slight hijack, but I was up late one night looking for something to watch on Netflix or Hulu Plus and in the "Romance" section there was the made for tv Jodi Arias movie. All I could think was... "Hmm not quite the romance I'm looking for...."

Yes today she did not want to plea again in front of the jury, or be cross-examined with Martinez. She was given the option but chose not to this last time. Also two jurors were dismissed with no reason given at least not to the public. There's a video on fox10phoenix.com
ETA - not sure why she decided not to...

Ugh. If there was ever a case where I feel no qualms about a person receiving the death penalty, this is it. She has admitted to slaughtering that man.

My guess is she wanted to beg for mercy but didn't want certain people seeing her in a vulnerable moment.

I forgot about this trial - thanks for the update! Weird about the 2 jurors, so I really hope no more go home...definitely don't need a mistrial with this case.

She is beyond evil. I feel so bad for the Alexander family to have to go through this yet again. She definitely deserves the death penalty. I hate how she has tried to paint herself as the victim.

Still trying to manipulate everyone around her.
What a case study for somebody!

Although the name sounded familiar I couldn't remember who she was until I read the thread...
I feel so badly for that young man's family. I can't imagine how they must feel - only that I hope that they receive justice in this and are, somehow, able to move beyond it.

I think she deserves the death penalty, but I hope she doesn't get it. If she's sentenced to death, there will be all the press coverage with appeals and every time the excecution date comes up and then is stayed because of an appeal- and she gets what she wants, which is lots and lots of attention.
Best thing that can happen to her is to be locked up for the rest of her life and no one remembers who she is.

Absolutely. She cannot stand to be ignored and to be locked up forever and ignored would be the worst punishment for her.

I agree with you in that to be ignored will be a far greater punishment than sitting on death row could ever be. I was watching the video from the link posted and one of the comments the reporter said really stuck out at me. By refusing to make any comments in front of anyone, she has thrown away any opportunity she has to apologize or make any other remarks to Travis's family. (Not that an apology would ever help the family get through its pain, of course.) She's a fascinating study for those that study human nature.

This trial is still going on?! This is the penalty phase of the trial. To decide if she should get the death penalty or life. She could have pleaded her case and make an apology the family but choose to do neither. Closing arguments started today so it should be wrapped up. We'll see there have been so many suprises and changes ya never know.

I find this very interesting. So much so that I had to Netflix the Lifetime movie about it Now that I have seen the movie, I will be reading some actual facts about the case. But she has admitted guilt, there doesn't seem to be much question about that. Which is why it's so bizarre she has followers believing she is innocent. But I guess all murderers ends up with fans sadly...

I watched most of the initial trial and was a little disappointed the phase wasn't going to be televised.

Today, it was announced that the verdict will be televised. www.kpho.com/story/28186785/day-41-of-jodi-arias-trial-judge-approves-live-broadcast-of-verdictI can't believe this has gone on for 41 days since October. The jurors have to be ready to get back to their regular lives and not keep track of when they need to report to court and when they don't. It seems like I heard that one of the news outlets might show the trial footage after the verdict, but I can't find anything online now. Always material for another Lifetime movie, I suppose.

Besides, if she gets the death penalty and they execute her, she'll be chasing Alexander all around the hereafter! LOL!

I think she wanted to end this on her own terms and that wasn't going to happen. I am not surprised they are allowing the verdict will be televised. I wonder if it will be the same as before they let them know a few hours before.

I hope they don't take too long. I feel so bad for his family. Jodi was evil. I have several friends who knew both of them.

leftturnonly They said they had a bad feeling about her from the beginning and felt evil in her presence. But, if this hadn't happened, who knows what they would have said. He was a member of several friends' church congregation and I also had a friend who did pre paid legal with him. They all said he had a huge heart, was hilarious, was genuine and had overcome a lot in his life. It was tough seeing some of their fb statuses right after it happened. No one knew it would attract THIS much attention. Jodi is a piece of work.

Her need to manipulate everyone and everything around her while on trial for her life sure makes me shudder at what she was like when she was free and accountable to no one.

leftturnonly, I know that when they found him dead and knew someone had murdered him they instantly KNEW it was Jodi. They said there was no doubt in their minds. She was very possessive and just plain weird. ETA: They are all so livid that she tried to accuse him of child porn and other things. They also said they had never seen him physically violent at all and that he was a pretty gentle soul. I have no doubt he did use Jodi for sex. He wasn't perfect. But at the same time he did seem like a great guy from what my friends have said. She wasn't a victim by any stretch of the imagination. As someone who was a victim of domestic violence, I find her claim appauling. She is the one who chose to go to his house and I have no doubt it was all premeditated due to the facts in the case.

As much as I want the death penalty for her, I hope she gets life - in solitary confinement.

After following the first trial, I thought that Travis wasn't perfect, he led her on (definitely and continually til the end!!) and she happened to have mental issues. When you sleep with a woman again and again, they're going to think that you have a relationship. She couldn't handle hearing otherwise and she killed him. I have no idea why he kept letting this woman into his life if he had a feeling that she was unstable, and then especially have SEX with her. She should have gone with an insanity defense.

I am so sick of her. If I never heard her name or saw her face in the news again, that would be fine by me.
