How about a thread to show off our mad coloring skills?

This is one trend I just don't get.

But have fun.

I bought the Secret Garden coloring book because of the frenzy here. I haven't had a moment to color yet! I did see my daughter eyeing it up the other day!

Costco has jumped on the bandwagon. They had 3 or 4 different books in a coloring book series there today. Tempting, but I didn't one.

Why aren't there any pictures in this thread yet?! I want to see pictures!!!

The only coloring I do currently is stampimages for cards I'm making, but I am highly intrigued by these coloringbooks. Would I be able to use Copic Sketch Markers in them you think?

I wasn't getting the trend either...looked right down my pointy nose at it...until one night when I couldn't sleep. Someone on another thread mentioned how relaxing it was, so I thought I'd give it a try. I hauled out my cheapo colored pencils that I use for garden diagrams and found some free coloring pics to print. I colored for about an hour, then slept like a baby. I can't say that I am going to set aside time in my day for it, but for nights when my busy brain won't shut up, I think it will be the answer for me.

My mother was way ahead of the game with this trend.

I can recall she had her own coloring book that she used to color in any time we wanted to color. We'd be coloring Sesame Street or The Muppets or whatever and she would be coloring in this:

Of course, coloring books geared toward adults or older kids/teens have been around for awhile now, but back then she just found one book she particularly liked of the ones offered for kids and bought it for herself.

I used to have that coloring book when I was a little girl! And every year since I can remember, my mom has given me at least one Barbie coloring book and a new box of crayons for Christmas. Some years she would add a Precious Moments or Disney one, too, but there's always a Barbie one.  

I started coloring in mine! lol I remember the first Iraq war - I stayed up half the night, coloring in one of my 2 year old son's coloring books and watching CNN! I love my Secret Garden book!

elaine I love that animal coloring book might have to add it to my stash of coloring books.

Marianne I love coloring in kids coloring books. I have a collection of Christmas coloring books. I love Santa and at Christmas I love coloring in my Christmas books. I have more Santa pages than any thing else. One of these days I am going to go through the books and take all the Santa's out and put them in a note book in page protectors like I did with my flower coloring book I am doing now. Maybe that will be a Christmas craft this year.

Elannah I know what you mean about always having to have 3 coloring books and every color there is made. I always buy the largest container of crayons, gel pens, colored pencils and what ever kind of stick I am coloring with. I never seem to have enough colors.
