Fury. I met the little chap today and you'd think with a name like that he would be a ball of rage, but he was adorable and full of giggles and tried to eat my finger I cannot imagine the trouble he's going to have growing up with a name like that.

Awwwww! I'm so tired that when I read it I thought, who the heck would name their kid Furry? Why would you do that? Did they have a lot of hair? lol Then it sunk in that I might need a nap. I think it's kind of a neat and different name. Though I'm not sure I'd name my son that.

oh dear, for some reason I read it as "furry" and thought what the heck. Fury is much better than furry IMHO.
I really hope it suits him as his personality develops and he leans toward unrestrained passion over violent anger.

Isn't there a character in the Avengers movies named Fury? I can picture him. He's an awesome character. I bet they are Stan Lee or Avengers fans.
I do like it.

I cannot imagine the trouble he's going to have growing up with a name like that. Why should he have any trouble? Lots of kids have different names to what we're used to these days. I think it's cute and it sounds like he was so I'm sure he'll be fine. Correct me in 18 years if I'm wrong

Really? Really?! Lol. I guess I'm alone in my WTF over this one. How funny. I do agree that Furry would be worse, though

I'm going to validate you, OP. I don't care for this name at all. But what do I know? I was once told I was pretty boring for naming my son, Paul.

Is there an Irish connection by any chance? Furey is an Irish surname when my kids were little (so 20ish years ago) in one of the parenting magazines, there was a column by a woman whose son's name was Furey, it was a family name.

I could go along with Hux, although it wouldn't be a first pick for sure. Fury is ridiculous, IMHO. My son had a dog named Fury once. Ok for a dog, but not a child IMO...

Do not like it. Too weird for me. But there are lots of weird names out there. I just like the boring ones I guess.

I've seen a lot worse names for children. One of the worst was someone whose child had the same first/last name. I won't write it here for fear of finding her as part of this group. Her name was similar to "Sue Sue." Why? ....but, then I worked with a man who had the same first/last name--I also thought his parents were insane. (such as James James)

My fourth son is named Paul, but in true southern fashion, I call him by that and his middle name too. My ex-husband wanted to name our first son Dax. He lost.

I am not really a fan of Fury as a name either. To me, it's a bit like naming a child Rage. Or Anger. Lisa

I don't have any unusual names in my class this year. A few ethnic names that I have had the parents repeat to me very.very.slowly but nothing cool.
