I live in Colorado and at one time going back home to Kansas City.... I see the sporting good's store "Dicks" (I had a big laugh over that... now they are everywhere and I don't think twice)
Yes and Kum & Go are here in CO... I call it the K&G
There was a bar really close to where by DH used to live when we first started dating... it was called Beavers...
There is a bookstore here called ISIS.... nothing to do with what we know about it... but I guess they keep getting vandalized.. the name came from an Egyptian goddess
And not really a business name.. but my boss' doctor was Dr. Hurt.
Oh one more The Church... it's a bar.. which was a church.. now a bar... haha

This isn't that outlandish, but my hometown has 2 bars. One is Bar Noble (Noble is the owners last name). The second bar was sold and the owner had to think of a new name and he had a hard time coming up with something. People would say meet me downtown at the bar. The inevitable question would be asked - Which Bar? Bar Noble? The reply - No, the other bar. So, the new owner name his bar 'The Other Bar.'
My old brain needs to remember things all at once.

I've seen a gas station called Pump & Munch, a Vietnamese restaurant called Pho King Garden and my aunt had a surgeon years ago named Dr. Knifeton.

The reason why there are so many Curl Up & Dye salon is because that was the name of Dolly Parton's character's salon in Steel Magnolias. It's a funny name people want to copy.
There's a bar called The Office in Boise too.

There is a restaurant/bar in my city named Bastards. The owner is a marine and it has something to do with that.
There is a bike shop in downtown LA with the name O N S O M E S H I T. Just like that, evenly spaced. I wonder about that one.

There's a bar called The Office in Boise too. I'm pretty sure her salon was just called Truvy's. When she becomes a chain, the new one is Truvy's West. It's still there, but they had to close for awhile due to serving a underage boy who wound up driving down the wrong side of the interstate and killing some people We have Taterbug's, which is an auto shop. They're super-nice there

Not quite as outlandish as some of the names on this list but everytime I see a Tubes and Hoses (which I think is a chain store that sells...tubes and hoses) their font looks like the sign says Pubes and Hoses. I read that in a book once and now can't unsee it...

We used to have a tiny gas station/convenience store near me called the Toot and Moo.
Also near me was a bar called Come on Inn.
I actually hate the name Kum and Go, especially spelled like that. I won't buy gas there.

We have a bar named "The Office" ... Going to the office .... In Austin, there was (and may still be) a bar called "The Library." I imagine the college kids telling their parents the couldn't call or respond to their calls because they were at "The Library" late on Saturday night. I've said I want to open a bar and name it "The Gym" or even "The Jim." Same concept.

They have a restaurant called the pink taco in the hard rock in las vegas. There was a place that had a sign nearby me that said "Phuket Thai" - of course it's pronounced wrong but everyone says "F* it Thai" We had that restaurant near us. It closed.

There's an ice-cream parlour a few miles from me with a terrible name. It's very culture specific, so a bit difficult to explain. In my signature, you'll see the first line is "Gonnae no dae that?" It means "Please don't do that" and is a line from a hugely popular Scottish TV comedy. The ice cream parlour is called "Cone-y No Dae That?" and I cringe every time I drive past it. It probably loses something in translation.

We have a bar named "The Office" ... Going to the office .... When I was in grad school, we used to frequent a bar called Group Therapy. It's still in existence. Erections can't last forever. "if you experience an erection lasting more than four hours, seek immediate medical help."

There's a ski resort in Utah called Beaver Mountain. They sell bumper stickers that say I rode the Beaver or it might be I skied the Beaver. Then there's the I love Beaver stickers too. Their website is skithebeav. The Stool Bus (septic system repairs). Sofa King! Anyone remember that SNL skit? It's a real place. There's a place in my town that no longer sells the food item that is in the restaurant name. In Beaver Dam Arizona, the local convenience store is The Dam Store.

There used to be a towing company where I lived called The Happy Hooker. Several years ago when I was in Thousand Oaks I saw a place called "Indiana Bones and the Temple of Groom".
