It is finally warming up to about 60 degrees this weekend WOHOO. So time to get the BBQ going again. Our initial BBQ of the season is always hamburgers
What is your favourite recipe for hamburgers and what are your favourite toppings?
If you have any other fantastic BBQ recipes feel free to share those too.

We don't really do fancy burgers at home, other than Bacon Cheeseburgers. When I go out, I like a Guacamole Bacon Burger though!

One of my fav burgers is from a place in my area that puts marshmallow fluff on them with homemade hot sauce, cheese, butter, onions. It's basiclly a heart attack on a bun but it's really good and I even hate marshmallows/fluff but love it on these burgers. However, I don't eat these anymore and when I did it was rare because it's soooo bad for you lol.
When I make burgers at home I like avacodo, lettuce, onions and melted cheese.

Lamb burgers topped with brie, sautéed mushrooms, and balsamic onions, served in a lettuce wrap. I buy, I don't make.

That's a new one to me! Probably so weird it's good. DH recently had a burger at a bar - it had peanut butter and a big slab of onion on it. He claimed it was tasty. . .

I had a burger that put sour cream, Pico de Gallo, and the usual toppings. It was actually very good.
Oliver burgers are my favorite. I had one where the green olives were mixed with a cream cheese and smoked Gouda blend and a slice of Swiss cheese. That was the best olive burger I've ever had.
At home, I put salsa on my burger, but it has to be the fresh salsa I make. And pepper jack cheese.

No burger suggestions for you, but while you've got the grill fired up, cook some bacon on it! Mmmmm . . . so delicious and crispy without smelling up the house (not that *I* dislike the smell of bacon, but I know some people do) and getting grease on the stove. Cook up a whole bunch, baggie up, and freeze. It makes summer BLTs nearly instant - you just have to wait a little while longer for those delicious summer tomatoes!

Grilled onions and bacon. I like honey mustard with the mayo. Then almost any kind of cheese. Just no pickles. Everything else is ok!

we really don't like burgers. We would rather do hot dogs or chicken. Daughter loves to grill. She has been grilling since she was 11 because we taught her when she started asking how to do it.
We used to do burgers all the time because that is what the rat bat liked. He didn't like chicken so we didn't get that very often but then we started eating healthier and we started grilling chicken more.
I do like burgers on the grill though. but I like the burger patties at Costco. but I still like chicken or steak better.
I like lettuce, ketsup, onions, pickles, and cheese on my burgers but I don't like buns so I actually take 2 little corn tortillas and warm them on the grill and use those as buns. or I will use lettuce if I can find a good head.
edited to add, I forgot to put I love grilled pineapple slices on my burger. but it has to have teriyaki sauce on it.

I like catsup, mustard, and sweet pickles. And either american or bleu cheese.
I'm picky about the buns. Must be a good bakery roll. I hate brioche and I hate the regular white buns in a bag.

Mann now I want a burger. One of my favourites is a chicken sausage burger topped with thin slices of tart green apple and thin slices of extra super sharp cheddar cheese. yum!

Ortega surprise burgers.
Mix salt, pepper, minced onion and minced green chilies into your ground beef.
Form double the amount of patties you want and make them very thin.
Place shredded pepper jack (or bleu cheese) and crumbled bacon in the center to one patty, cover with second patty, sealing the edges.
Grill about 5 - 6 min on each side. Serve in pretzel buns with mayo, salsa, avocado and tomato. Dill pickel is good too.

My own home raised aged beef with a slice of a red ripe tomato and a super thin slice of onion. No bun.

Don't forget the portobello burgers! I love them grilled and brushed with garlic butter, any type of melted cheese, grilled onion and topped with lettuce, tomatoes, and pickles with a little mayo on a squishy but sturdy roll.

My burger recipe is pretty simple. Just good ground beef and some Montreal Steak seasoning.
My favorite burger from a local place is topped with a fried green tomato and pimento cheese. Soooo delicious! If we're doing burgers at home, though, I like lettuce, onion, tomato, ketchup and sometimes a little mayo.

Well, when I am making them myself, I usually make some fried onions and put on American cheese, fried onions, and thousand island dressing. I am more adventurous at a restaurant. The one I like right now has an apple slaw and bacon.

I love any burger. I just starting using using havarti with dill cheese on them and it adds the perfect flavor.
