DH and I met when we were both 36. Married when I was 36 and he was 37. I graduated from high school 48 years ago and there are many couples still together who dated in high school. It is amazing!

I could think of 7 couples from high school. Three are divorced, one was engaged (the man died), and the rest are still together.
We were 20 and 24.

We met when I was 19 dh was 22; married 8 months later at 20 and 23 -27 years ago Dh and I did not attend the same school. There were 5 in my high school group. My brother married one and my sister married one. So two in my group are family…technically three as SIL is a twin! My brother and SIL were high school sweethearts, going strong 31 years and 3 kids; 2 grands later.

We were both 18 and had gone to school together but didn't meet until a few months after we graduated. We were 7 days apart in age. In our graduating class there are 5-6 couples who married each other.

We were both 17, in our first semester of college (we have early fall birthdays), our birthdays are 1 month apart.
We married at 23, and will be celebrating 14 years married (19 years together) this fall.
I would say most of our friends met in college.

I haven't had time yet to read the replies...but to answer the OP question...my DH and I were 16 when we met in the fall of 1974 in Jr. English Class. The teacher had 1/2 of the desks on one side of the room...facing an aisle in the middle...and the other 1/2 of the desks facing the aisle. The girls tended to sit on one side...the boys on the other. At some time that fall...I got in trouble for talking to Melissa...who probably passed me some drill team gossip...and I got caught and moved next to the tall curly haired boy across the aisle. I was SOO embarrassed! But he was nice and started talking to me. He was a Band guy (I dont think we called them band nerds back then...they were pretty popular kids as we had an awesome awardwinning band..and he was first trumpet and had a lot of solos..)
That's how it began. I went out with him...I'll never forget..we saw "Billy Jack" at the drive in. It was pretty funny because I was very shy. He kissed me when he took me home. We used to get into so much trouble for a quick smootch in the hallway....I swear one of the Asst. Principals had it out for us..but we went by the rules...except for the quick kisses...We dated the rest of high school and into college...we both stayed home and went local. We married a few weeks after he turned 21. Married 36 years now. Awaiting our first grandbaby..
ETA...I'd marry him all over again if I could...wouldn't change a thing!
Oh..you asked about other couples from HS that married....we had a big grad class and there are still quite a few couples who dated in high school that are still married....

14 ... don't judge LOL We lived across the street from each other, rode our bikes to school - I was in 9th, he was in 8th. All of a sudden he'd be hanging out in the alley as I came home (I was a slow pokey bicyclist!) - he would then follow me a few minutes later. He was awfully cute! Started dating, my parents moved to another county because of him, I got my driver's license! Split up for a couple of years, then got back together, engaged and married at 20. This September is our 34th anniversary. And he's still awfully cute! We're the only ones of our friends to still be married - they all told us we were making a big huge terrible awful mistake. Meh, so far so good, but yes, we know we're odd LOL

What about you? How old were you when you met? Did many couples you knew at high school stay together?
We met at high school, aged 16/17 - we are one year apart in age. We didn't date exclusively or 'get serious' until we were in our 20s. We've been married nearly 24 years now. I can only think of one or two other couples who met that young and who are still together.

We were both 18. It was our first day of college. We've been together ever since. Twenty four years.
I don't keep up with people from my high school.

We met at 18, during freshman college orientation and became friends. We got together as a couple almost 11 years later. We have been married for 18 years. I don't think at 18 we would have been a good couple.

We originally met when he was 15 and I was 17, as he was a friend of my brother's and we rode the bus to high school together. Never dated or knew each other very well, but I vaguely remember him being around our house with my brother's group of friends when I was a Senior. Then we each had long term marriages, kids, etc. I never saw him again until four years ago when we randomly met up at a community event. I was 42 and he was 40. Love at first sight kinda thing and we've been together from that day forward, marrying two years ago on Valentine's Day 2012.

I was 16, he was 24. My parents weren't real happy. I couldn't understand why. Until we had a 16 year old daughter! That was over 40 years ago and we're still together.

This is scary.
We were 17 and in college. Dh started college at 16, I started at 17. We dated that year, but had a bit of a bumpy ride due to distance and didn't marry for another 11 years.
What is scary is our dd is 17 now. Just so crazy to realize she is the same age now as when dh and I first began our relationship.
I know of one couple from high school that is still married. I know of another married couple from my high school that really did not get together as a couple until after college.

I was 33 and dh was 38. I thought I'd be a single cat lady forever. And I assumed he was divorced when I met him. Wrong on both counts!

I was a month shy of my 32nd birthday. He had just turned 27.
As for high school, all the couples I knew broke up or divorced. Funny enough, I know of two classmates who are now dating each other 17years later. They grew up together as both of their families stayed in the same neighborhood for the longest time.
