We met when I was 18, he was 22. He had just finished college and I was just starting. We were married about 7 months later. He died 4 years ago on July 20th and today would have been our 49th anniversary.
I can recall one couple in my high school class that got married and are still together.

I graduated in a class of 280. I can only think of 5 couples from our class who got married after dating in high school. Only one couple is still married.
I do know a handful of other couples - 7 that I can think of off the top of my head - that met in high school but never dated until years later (post-college or beyond) who are now married. They are all still together.
When we met, I was 23 and DH was 27. We got married when we were 26 and 30.

36 ! Met 4-13-96, engaged 7-18-96 and married 11-9-96. It will be 18 years in November and they've been the best years of my life. Don't get me wrong, they've been bad times such as loosing our parents, loss of job and crazy family member issues, but through it all we have been there for each other. When you marry your best friend, all comes out right in the end.

I can think of 3 couples from high school who got married and stayed together and 1 that is divorced. I am sure there are others though. A lot of our college friends are still married to each other.
DH and I met in college when we were both 18. We were friends for a little over a year before we started dating. Got married at 23 and will celebrate 26 years in several weeks.

I was 30 and DH was 24. We went to the same school, but he was in 6th grade when I was a Senior lol! We did not meet until after he got out of the Army.

This is the case with my son's friends, and he graduated high school 12 years ago. Many of his friends who were dating in high school have married each other. He is still unmarried.

DH and I met in 5th grade though we didn't date until high school. We've been married 12 years in December. There are 8 or 9 couples who I know from high school who are currently together and I went to a smaller school (130 in my graduating class).
