I was 23 and he was 28. We met at work. I don't know anyone from high school that is still together. i knew one couple that dated in HS, married, then divorced shortly after. On the other hand, there are at least 4 couples from my 25yo daughter's graduating class that are married and dated each other in HS. My younger daughter who is almost 19, has been dating her bf for nearly 3 years and I don't see that ending soon. She has several friends who have been dating their bf/gf for nearly the same length of time. One couple got engaged on the 4th of July, hopefully a long engagement as they navigate through college. They have been dating since freshman year. The graduating class was one of 400. I thought this was a strange phenomenon for so many to stay dating the same person at such a young age - now I am not so sure.

We met at work and completely ignored the "no employee fraternization" rule . He was 24, I was 22.

DH and I met at 15, starting dating at 16, moved in together at 17, married at 20. We've been married for 27 years, and I am 19 days older than him. I can think of 8 couples, we know personally, that dated in high school, and have been married at least 10+ years.

we met in 8th grade so 13? became good friends in 9th grade and didn't date until after we had both graduated (he did the 5-yr plan in high school) - I was 19 and he was 20 by the time we started dating. We didn't marry until 29 though - we broke up for 7.5 years in the middle.

I was 24, he was 31 - We've been together since 1980, so 34 years. As far as our schoolmates, I know a handfull of couples that are still together, but not very many.

My DSO is a school friend of my brother. I first met him when he was about 13 and I was 17. I used to drive my brother to his house before he got his licence, but I never would have looked twice at such a young kid!!!
We got together when I was about 35.
3 of my close friends got married (within 3 months of each other) at the ages of 20 and 21. Two are still married.
I know 3 other couples who have been together since the age of 13 and 14. 2 of the couples are still together but the other (my SIL) is divorced. I can't imaging still being with the boyfriend I had when I was 13!

My husband and I were 7 months apart. I was 16, he was 17 when we met. We got married when we were 19, and were married 19 years (together 22 years) when he passed away in February.
All of our high school friends have been married and divorced at least once. Some of them met their first spouses in high school, some met in college.

I was 17, he was 18....met the first day of college on a Freshmen orientation scavenger hunt for our dorm. Married at 25 and 26 (he turned 27 on our honeymoon); and are still happily married now at 36 and 38 (16 months of age difference between us).
He is absolutely my soulmate. People see us and think that opposites attract (black guy born and raised in a city; white girl who lived in in the middle of nowhere 28 miles from the nearest grocery store); but we are very much birds of a feather.

I was 31 and he was 42 and we've been together now for 15 years.
I'd gotten married at 19 to someone I met when I was 17--and he was 27. Yikes... We were married for 11 years.

I was 23 and he was 25 when we met. Got married a year later and will celebrate 28 years next month.
Of the couples I know of who married high school sweethearts, I would say it's about 50/50 whether they are still together or not.

I met my DH the summer I turned 13. He was turning 14 in August. We went to different high schools and had a different group of friends. We got married at 18 & 19 (no I wasn't pregnant!) We will be married 30 years next April! There is only 1 other couple we hung out with in high school that got married and still are.

I was 21 and dh was 24.
Some couples from hs did get married - I'm from a reaaaaalllly small town- but only two that I know of are still together. And one of those they got together when one if them was already graduated- so not the same age. The guy was 3 years older. The couple that did stay together were pregnant at their graduation and are exactly the same age, sharing the same birthday.

I was 22 and DH was 24. We will celebrate 23 years of marriage in August.
I only know one couple from HS that got married. They were the only ones that didn't go away so they got together after HS. They ended up divorcing 4-5 years later.
