This is OUR day! (Too bad there aren't enough scrappers in government, so it isn't a stat holiday!)
Hope that everyone can find at least a little time to play on NSD. If you are looking for ideas and challenges, you can check out the NSD sites we have been collecting. In addition, inky quill is live streaming right now.
For those of us who love a good deal--and better yet a good scrappy deal--looks like most outlets have at least some discount this weekend. Some of the sales are listed HERE . Feel free to add more to this list as you discover them.
And it looks like there are lots of NSD scrappy plans as well. Sounds like lots of creativity happening this weekend!
Just one question here: what would be YOUR idea of a perfect scrappy holiday?
And a request: if you are lucky enough to play with paper on NSD, please let us know. And if you can snap a pic or scan your project and give us a link we would love to see what you have done. I think we all become more creative when we see what others have created!

Just one question here: what would be YOUR idea of a perfect scrappy holiday? Oooh, I'd definitely be able to sleep in and then have a delightful breakfast (made for me, of course) with a beautiful view of the beach. Then I'd scrap all day in my jammies while watching Downton Abbey or Pride and Prejudice. A huge stock of MME, Crate Paper, Simple Stories, and Echo Park and any tool I could possibly need would be available. I'd only need to bring my pictures. In the afternoon I'd take a walk on the beach and then do some more scrapping. At night I'd have a hot bath and a glass of Del Dotto Pinot Noir and then a chocolatey dessert while watching the sunset. All by myself! It would be so peaceful. I think after three days I'd be ready to go home. Well...maybe I'd be ready.

what would be YOUR idea of a perfect scrappy holiday? A day that I can actually scrap! I got home "last night" from work at one thirty. I have to leave in an hour to go back to work. I'm hoping that tonight I'll have enough energy to scrap at least a little something. I wish I could just hang out here all day, and scrap layout after layout.

what would be YOUR idea of a perfect scrappy holiday? It would be in my dream house and craft room. My hubs would take the kids to visit his side of the family. I would get a delivery everyday of freshly made sushi. After about 5 days, My family and my sister with her daughters and their kids would arrive (their men can come too). DD, my 2 nieces and I would then craft together. My sister is along to watch her grandbabies, so her daughters can scrapbook. We'd obviously stop for a freshly made and wonderful dinner each night and to visit with the family. We'll stop the crafting after 2-3 days and visit another 2 before they've decided they love our area and will all move up here.

I don't know if I'll get to scrap but I did manage to order the rest of the 2016 photos (200 - yikes) - so photo ordering is caught up through yesterday. Hopefully I can keep on top of it for the rest of the year.

Love your page, myboysnme ! Blocking your photos makes them a strong element and is the perfect way to work with that cool pp background. Your beachy retreats sound like HEAVEN, Elsabelle and Myboysnme. I think LisaDV 's idea of sending everyone away and just vegging with my supplies and photos right here at home, or linda's crop with friends sound pretty good too, but that all inclusive element and the chocolate and pinot noir... And I like the phrase crop and shop! Actually I am happy any day that I can relax a little, read a little, scrap a little, chat a little. And PLAY a little. I am off to paint a couple of backgrounds I got the idea from SCT, and then chime into some of the sites to see if I can win some PRIZES! Scrap ON, Ladies!

Well dh did not leave the property, but he is out in the yard now, so I have the house to myself. Finished a page I started yesterday, and added a companion. These are mostly photos, so not a lot of artsy work... bd cake by Gramma Dee, on Flickr bd presents by Gramma Dee, on Flickr You may recognize some of these photos. These pages are for dgs's book. The other pages I did for my own scrapbook. I am struggling a bit doing the same event TWICE. Yet I didn't want to simply switch the pages over because a) I WANT the pages in my album, and b) I would have had to reword the journaling to make them fit into his book. I will be doing double the pages on his skating carnival and probably his mastery of biking, but if I work on all the pages for one event (two double spreads for each event) it might be easier than doing them at different times. Maybe... I still have my LOAD journal page to do. Did some painting which is drying. On to the next step... As I said--Scrap ON!!!

Now that it's almost 1:00, I'm actually getting to scrap! Project Runway on in the background, yummy snax nearby, husband will get pizza for dinner, I'm good to go! Hopefully I'll get a lot done today.
My dream scrapbook retreat has pretty much already been described: good pals (ones who won't get tired of scrapping after only one day), a beachy location, yummy food all provided, a huge scrappy space, a terrific vendor nearby, my iPod mix (what can I say, I like my song choices better than anyone else's) & access to all my photos along w/a great printer so I can make them any size I want at the drop of a hat. Oh, and it would be at least 5 days. Maybe even a week.
Heaven . . .

Here is my LOAD page. The prompt today was to look at our hair through the years. That didn't appeal to me, but their Saturday theme for this month is "Time Machine", so I decided to do my journal page in reaction to that. I got my inspiration from the SCT blog--I think it was their first NSD prompt of the day when they used the painted circles. If you could go back... by Gramma Dee, on Flickr And I am done playing for the day, I think. Need to do some laundry and other housework. Yes! When you are a procrastinator, you get to do laundry and housework on NSD, because you left it for "tomorrow", too many times!

I think my perfect scrappy holiday would be like lisadv's: send DH and DS out for a few days! Plus a good selection of take-out menus! And to have the wifi fixed in our basement, so I could get youtube scrappy videos to play on the tv down there. I'm hoping to make some time to scrap today. This morning I took DS to a free jazz dance class that our library hosted - he loved it. It also burned some energy, which is always good with 6 year olds! DH is making dinner tonight, although he usually likes having a sous chef to help out! My scrap space is still chaotic - I've got most of the wallpaper removed, and am now spackling and sanding the walls (the wallpaper did not come down without a fight!). I forgot how dusty it gets with sanding though, so I probably need to pack everything up, or try to cram stuff into the closet when I get to that side of the room. I think my goal for today will be to at least finish the LO out on my desk - one less thing to work around then! Happy NSD everyone!

Finished my photography workshop album today. When I showed it to dh, he hated the fold out page protectors, too, so we agreed and he cut the fold out parts off for me. Much better. Doing research on our trip to Yellowstone later this month now. We visited there many years ago but that was in the days of film cameras and our pics are faded and brown. Looking forward to getting new pics there. Visited pudgy groundhogs gallery to get some ideas and learned about the wind river area of Wyoming and added that to our plans on the way to yellowstone. Well, I'm not on the beach today but I am home on a rainy day in my jammies eating Panera mac n' cheese and sipping a chai tea latte. DH took the kids to the movies and to dinner after. I picked up some necessities (adhesive, cardstock, etc from M's) before I went to Panera. This is bliss.

grammadee , love your pages and art journal page. I've completed 2 pages today and 2 more pages from earlier this week. DD had a bad bout earlier and needed me to go sit with her for awhile. My throat is sore again today and I thought I was getting over this dang cold. So I don't know how much more I'll complete today. I feel for you, LisaDV . I'm developing one of those barking coughs from my cold. I am happy to be able to breathe through my nose again, though. I have journaling typed for this giant pile of layouts and I'm just about to print and adhere it. Then on to titles! Thanks, grammadee!

I have made 16 of the same card for a gift box of cards for the other teachers in my pod, plus a couple of cards to enter a contest at Scrapbook.com and a layout that I just posted in the gallery. This has been a great NSD for me. DH took me Texas Roadhouse for lunch and after the shopping was done, I have scrapped and played all day.

I was going to write a big post and include a tonne of photos and then I decided it would probably be best to write a blog post and then you could see my layouts there. I did a 12x12 layout for LOAD and a mini album for my mom. My ideal scrapbooking experience would be on a cruise (as long as I had someone to pack up all my stuff so I could have it with me). My scrappy friends would be there. There would be sun, food, drinks. Plus no one could get in touch with me for anything. I hope you had a great NSD!

Love that mini album. She's gonna love it! And I am in for that cruise whenever it happens! Let's just bring our photos, and let the cruise people pack all the STUFF! And "all inclusive" will mean that they ship our completed projects home at no extra cost

I tried so hard to finish up all those layouts yesterday. Maybe I spent too much time basking in the glow of an empty house and a Panera chai tea latte and cinnamon crunch scone. No, that time was spent in the best way possible. Anyway, I did a lot of journaling and cut several titles. I'm really close to finishing up that part of my scrappy to do list.
