My husband and I have lived in the Houston area for almost 9 years, but we've never visited the Holocaust Museum in Houston, which we have heard is excellent. We were talking about it the other day and agreed we need to set aside a day to visit it. We love to travel and see new things, but we sometimes forget about the things in our own backyard.
is there a museum or other type of tourist attraction near you that you've never visited?

The flight 93 memorial isn't too far from us. I have also never been to the Andy Warhol museum. (We live in Pittsburgh)

We live an hour outside of Minneapolis and there are many popular attractions we've never visited: The Walker Art Center, the Guthrie Theater, Minnehaha Falls are the big ones.

In 25 years, I've never made it the The Menil. We belong to several museums nearby, but for some reason I've just never made it there (though I have seen the Rothko Chapel). The new restaurant at The Menil is fantastic, so I just need to pick a date and go to the museum then have lunch.

Independence Hall, the aquarium in Camden, and Valley Forge are on my list for this summer. Well, maybe not the Hall, because I really don't like going into the city (Philly) in general. I've been to lots of museums while I've lived here, though. I'm also wanting to do a camping trip to the Poconos. We always seem to head south to camp, rather than north.

I've been to pretty much everything in my city except for the new Science Centre ... I live very close to Banff National Park so I've visited there many times ... I still haven't been to Jasper or the Columbia Ice Fields ... South of Calgary, I haven't been to Head Smashed In Buffalo Jump which is a First Nations interpretive site

I don't live in a place tourists would want to go.
All I can think of is this funky outdoor art piece that apparently is considered a great work of art (can't remember the artists name). It's not even that close to my home.

Lots and lots and lots of things because DH hates crowds, tourist traps, museums... I think you get the idea. We recently met up with friends in Two Harbors for an ATV trip. On the way up, I saw signs for Gooseberry Falls and noted that I'd gone there many times as a kid and had fond memories of it. DH said he hadn't ever been. Once we were at our hotel, our friends asked if our kid might like to go see Split Rock lighthouse, so we went. Once there, DH mentioned that he'd never been there before either. There were a few other common things that DH said he'd never done and he's lived here all his life. I asked him, "What the heck, did you live under a rock when you were a kid?" His reply was, "Nope, we went to the cabin *every* weekend. We didn't have time to do any of that other stuff."

I've lived in/near Atlanta for 30 years and never been to the MLK memorial or birthplace. For years I worked less than a mile from there and drove by it daily, but I've never been inside.

Gettysburg- I have no interest though.
Anything in Philly- I'm about a hour and half away and I've been many times but it's always for concerts or other types of events. I really want to go to the Mütter Museum.
There is a attraction here where a train takes you underground into a mine. Everyone seems to go there and it's popular in the summer. I've never been.

Also eat breakfast at The Hickory Valley Farm Restaurant.

There are some landmark restaurants I've never been to, like Ninfa's on Navigation, and some events I've never attended, like the Art Car Parade. Oh and I've never been to a Texans or Rockets game.

You have to do the Art Car parade at least once! So much fun! I also love spotting the cars around town in the weeks beforehand. As for the Holocaust Museum, I've not been either and don't plan to, though I do hear it is excellent. We also don't visit any of the concentration camps in Europe.

Somewhere that allows beer is essential to my good time

I am not aware of any I've missed BUT my sister frequently has ideas of places we need to go (so I go with her) and turns out they are well known tourist areas. So my answer is "I honestly don't know" lol

We are actually planning to go to the EMP in Seattle tomorrow, which we have never been to (Experience Music Project). Another one we haven't done yet is an ORCA watching tour.

I just saw an article for the top 25 attractions in my town (area). I have been to all of them except two museums. This state is big on tourism, and the attractions are amazing.

Ripely's Aquarium here in Toronto which, I guess,is ironic since I'm a diver and fish are kind of my thing. DH has been and he said it depressed him so I've been putting it off.
