Tell me about this egg business. I think I got a couple at a Pokemon stop, but I had no idea what to do with them. if you click on your pokemon list you'll see "eggs" in the top right corner. click on it and there are your eggs waiting for incubation. choose one and start the process, now you need to walk the distance it tells you to get a new pokemon. Not sure if this has been mentioned yet, but there have been some news reports of nefarious activities using the game. Saw it on FB (and then Googled it). It could all be hogwash, but wanted to mention it. Yes that was on the news this morning. There's a movie coming out with the exact same concept, so freaky! This woman can't get out of the game and keeps being ordered to do random horrible things.

A local fire department just posted about knowing their fire house was a Pokemon gym but please don't park in front of their bay doors. They said they welcome the visitors but not to forget they do have a job to do. I guess they've had lots of people coming in to catch Pokemon characters.

This game has become a great diversion for my poor dd who is still basically immobile from knee surgery. We went to physical therapy today, and right away she found a Pokemon in the car with us. Then a few appeared on the drive, as well as several Pokestops as we went by. She was able to get some of them as I drove (the Pokestops I mean) because I was going slow enough. Then we discovered that the building where her physical therapist is located is a gym. lol. She's not level 5 yet though, but she's hoping to be by the time of our next appointment. Then she realized that there were a lot of Pokemon right there in the handicapped parking area. Just on the walk from the parking to the door I caught two for her and there were more but I couldn't get them. She decided that the developers were taking pity on the people who needed handicapped parking. Then on the way home we drove around and around and around, lol. She told me where she saw Pokestops and I went that way. Took us three times as long to get home but she found a bunch and had a good time. I'm happy if she is having a good time because otherwise she's not having any fun lately.

Dd is walking my dog again We did have the talk about being safe and paying attention. I also saw a report on GMA this morning about people using the game to rob people. Luckily she is very safety aware and always takes a dog on her walks anyway. Her German Shepherd Dog is very protective of her girl and takes her job very seriously.

My youngest downloaded it. They said it's very glitchy so they might wait until modifications are made.

We found it glitchy too. My son (pokemon expert) tried to trade one of my duplicates to get candy and it didn't work. But when I rebooted my device the previously traded one was back so when we tried again, it worked. I only got one candy for each trade though.

I caught a couple walking into my docs appointment. I turned it on to get credit for walking to hatch my egg. Apparently walking the same path (I walk 15k steps a day in circles around my living and dining rooms) doesn't count more than the first circle...very disappointed about that. I can't go outside and walk in the heat (it is relatively cool right now just under 100 but will be 110 plus everyday soon enough). Walking is walking in my book.

Lol ds15 and his friends are playing it. We were standing in the kitchen talking and his friend ran back inside, threw open the door and said "I found a pikacchu" and ran off. Ds immediately ended out conversation (about his true love, basketball) and ran out the door. It's too funny watching these boys, who are typically all about girls and sports, go chasing fictional characters. Yikes, maybe I should have saved his Pokemon catcher (Ash??) Halloween costume

My gosh. I swear we had 852 million pokemon cards are one point. My youngest son used have all these ball like things (kind of like big round easter eggs) that he would stuff the baby beanie babies that you got from McDonalds into to create his own Pokemon.
There is a ring in hell for the person or persons who though Pokemon movies were a good idea. And a special place in heaven for those of us parents who sat through them.
I know the younger boy is playing. I am not sure about the older, although I would guess yes. He was the original Pokemon generation. He started watching from the very beginning and the one responsible for me sitting through all those damn movies.

So, I walk out my front door and see 2 teens standing on the corner. By their body language, it looked like they were having a tense conversation. As I approached my van I hear "Where the f*ck did you find Pikachu!?" His friends response; "Just by walking around man."

Oh yes, I won't forget the day my husband's aunt wanted to give my son a Pokemon VHS tape because he was a fan and her son had outgrown the movie. My son was Ash one year for Halloween and he made the costume himself when I refused to buy one *after* buying another costume that he wanted.

Mine are now 34, 27 and 17, you'd think there would have been one fan in there some where! I got lucky and got Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (which I still love), unlucky with Barney and then the youngest was all Disney.

So I don't know diddly about this. I downloaded the app thinking DS would like it, he did not, so I deleted the app. Was talking to some security folks at work and there's a ton of whatever you're collecting at work. Security is p*ssed because they've been chasing people away all day. They're also saying that there's a lot of people at work playing and they're setting up fake profiles or whatever to catch people. I'm glad I deleted the app. I'm stunned there are a lot of people playing at work, I work for a huge investment company.

I have a question for teachers. My daughter plays & she has said that a lot of the 'gyms' are located on or near schools. She made the statement, "I feel bad for the teachers when kids are back in school." So, teachers, educators, etc, what about this? Are you worried what this upcoming school year is going to be like?
PS - I haven't had a child in school for 5 years, so I'm not sure of the challenges you face in today's world.

I just read an article that Arlington Cemetery and the Holocaust Museum are requesting people to be respectful and stop playing the game while visiting those places. Do people really need to be told this?

I heard that too I thought the same thing and thought well I guess it isn't surprising because ppl seem to forget phone etiquette when it comes to family dinners, lunch with a gf or when in a movie theatre.

I haven't told dd about it. She's already glued to her iPod. And she never brought it up...until yesterday. Little did I know that she knew about it months and months before it was coming out and was looking forward to the date. She was so disappointed when the date came and she didn't have what was needed to download the game. ( something about data and no wifi or gps? ) And here I thought that I was keeping her under a rock when her and her friends have known about this game for a while. She tells me that's why many are playing already because they have been awaiting it's date of arrival. She got to play for the first time at grandmas yesterday with grandma's iPhone. I experienced it in person for the first time after walking out with my manager when we closed the store and she started playing as we were walking to our cars. But there was a Pikachu the other direction close by so I helped her find it and then at the destination there were others there too. This is an outlet store and it was after hours so I'm sure security was going to have fun clearing everyone out. I didn't stick around long since I had to pick up dd from grandmas. But I wonder if this will be an on going thing whenever I close

We have a poke stop at work in a sensitive spot. Local LEO are not happy. We've sent the request to have it removed. Unfortunately the company doesn't seem want to make that very easy.

I got a Ponyta this morning on my dog walk and we've walked that way every day this week with no Ponytas in sight. lol. I think what scrapaddict meant was that we don't get "credit" for just walking around in a circle in order to try to hatch our eggs. I didn't know that, lol. I need to test that out this evening because dd can't walk and she has .8 miles left on one egg, and it's a billion degrees outside so I'm not going out to walk her egg. rofl. I was planning to try walking around in a circle through our downstairs. I'll let you know. But for finding Pokemon they're just random and you never know where they'll be.
