I hope he's ok!!
And we're having a fish fry at the farm tonight, if anyone feels the need to attend. Are they big fish? Cause I only want to fry big fish. 😉

I'm sorry. I used the wrong word. I didn't mean salute like hand to head. I meant when you put your hand over your heart to salute the flag Ah that's different. I was thinking *military* salute. In that case, yes, I think he should have.

I try and avoid anything to do with him so I didn't see it, but it's been a blast reading these comments...

Politics wise, I'm not a GWB fan, but I believe he is a thoughtful and caring man, judging from the things he has done after leaving the White House. No snark... honest question... but what has GWB been doing since he left the White House? I mean, Jimmy Carter has Habitat for Humanity and teaching Sunday School and didn't he go to Africa for the UN? Or maybe it was the middle east. Regardless, his work as a humanitarian has been pretty well documented. Bill Clinton established the Clinton Global Initiative (probably have that name wrong) and set up his foundation in Harlem and was the husband of a senator and the Secretary of State. Ronald Reagan got sick pretty quick after leaving office, so he didn't have much time in the public eye to do much. Plus, he was considerably older. Richard Nixon was pretty much an outcast and wasn't afforded many opportrunities to continue public service. Don't remember much about Ford or GHWB post-presidency. So, seriously, what HAS GWB been doing with his platform? P.S. I thought he looked completely inappropriate up there, but not to the extent that I got my panties in a twist about it. Just a passing "WTF is he thinking?!?!? Poor Michelle and Laura."

He does a lot for veterans. He and Clinton partnered for relief in Haiti. He has worked in Africa to help with HIV/AIDS. That's just the stuff I know about without looking it up.

There was a picture in the news not too long ago with him biking with veterans. Might have been Memorial Day.
