I'm completely out of the loop on the proper December Daily as I only ever do my own attempt with bits from my normal kits, but I had to pop over and see what you guys were talking about. I've decided that I'm just not very trendy! The mini kits are lovely and beautifully designed, but not really me... but then I've never been very cool, ha ha! I like to keep my Christmas scrapbooking light and pretty, but fairly traditional (mint, pink, pops of red and gold; candy canes & snowflakes - the usual themes) I'm sure these kits will appeal to the young funky things though.

So far, I'm getting the mini kits from Jasmine Jones and Pam Garrison. The others, I have to think about.
Can't wait to see who's up tomorrow. Marcy Penner is a good guess! @superawesome2000

I want to love Liz's but I really don't like that shade of green. The red, black and gold is nice...I am a very traditional person when it comes to what I like for Christmas. I think the most I could probably do would be a lime green accent on a layout, but that shade looks more olive to me. I just want a nice rich red, dark green, black, grey, white and a pop of metallic (gold or silver)...but every kit seems to want to toss in something untraditional. I hope for a kit (should I decide I 'need' one) that is all traditional...that isn't the main kit so I can mix it with stash I already have.

paperpilekitten & scrapaddict702I like olive green. But that green in Liz's kit is definitely leaning towards "chartreuse yellow meets pear green" or something. A shade we'd ever so elegantly call you-ate-too-much-asparagus uri-green! PS: I'm totally willing to pay full price for last year's KP stamp, especially now you've mentionned how much you're loving it!

I've noticed that with how cheap the cards have gotten with SC, they've lost their brightness...likely because of the paper change (they also smell funny and for lack of a better way to explain it, they feel wet...not like soaked or anything, but their flexibility and texture just make them feel strange) and maybe that's why the color shown in the kit doesn't look that great. The other colors are nice (if crisp black was the goal, that was a fail, too, but I don't mind the 'off black') but maybe that color didn't translate as it was intended. I sure hope that's the case, because I can't see myself choosing that kind of a green on purpose.

It's a different paper and I'm guessing also different inks compared to before. Same for the Ali Story kits and Messy Boxes, alas. It's bound to lead to some colour differences and like you, I don't think for one minute the black was meant to be off-black but hey, money money money!

Liz has just posted her own sneak peek of her mini kit. Some of the cards will also feature her signature mixing of minimalist fonts as main element:

Meh for me. I feel like I've seen these colors, designs, sayings before so whilst nice enough ...nothing different or particularly original. I'm sure I've seen a Christmas kit with the same red plaid before. Another pass for me.

I really like the Liz T kit. Not a big surprise since I have both of her project life core kits. I just find her designs really easy to use for my taste. And I like the plaid + black & gold. Probably a buy for me.

I love plaid. I bought Heidi's 12x12 (and lost one of my 6x6's...it was put away with my DD stash and I forgot I even made up an Iris box for it...so I bought a second one, lol) because of the plaid. I want to get most of Photoplay's plaid line. I think it's a great pattern...and I love how we all have different views, lol. Imagine being a designer with so many opinions!!

Probably a buy for me. This mini would be a great way to use up more of the Midnight core kit. hadnt thought of that. I looked at the kit again and am waffling over the green. That's definitely not a Christmas colour, and I'm trying to imagine how it would pair with a true holiday green? It seems as if the yellow-tones is the trend that allows you to mix-and-match the DD kits this year. Pity.

I have only bought DD kits from Ali and I was wondering if any of you know when other kit clubs start showing their Christmas kits?

Sigh...I don't like Liz's either..at all. I hate black for Christmas period. These kits are SO dark. That green is strange too, so yellow.....puceish? I feel like a downer but everything seems so "clean" and hmmm almost "sterile". Only Pam's seemed to have much whimsy and still not sure about it. Oh well, guess I will go elsewhere.

Funny, the more I looked at Liz T's kit the more I liked it. I appreciated the shade of green, which provides a nice pop. I think the kit would've been too dark if she went with a traditional leaf green/holly green shade. Not digging the peachy pink, though. It seems to be the same shade she used in some of the cards in the Everyday Core Kit.
Not sure if I would order her kit just yet, but at this point hers is most appealing to me.

Too bad they don't have a DD - Embellishments only kit. Then you could get the cheaper digital mini kit, adjust/edit the colours, and still get your hands on the embellies to match. Only downside is the gold foiling.

Have never done DD, but will buy JYC w/Shimelle this year mostly using my own stash. But hoping to get a small kit somewhere (KP maybe) to give it a bit of a start.
Almost bought AE DD past kits a few times when they've been on sale, but never quite liked them enough to buy. I think it'll be the same this year. *sigh*

Only downside is the gold foiling. I think that's the best idea! Everyone likes so many different colors combos and shades. I would totally do this! It would even love to have a few additional "general" journal cards you could color. SaveSave

To be honest none of them are wowing me at all. Fingers crossed because there is one left and then Ali's main. I might be making my own.

I'm not sure I'll get any of the mini kits so far, but I am totally okay with that. All I really need to make an album is the Main Kit. Hopefully it will wow me like it always does!

I can't wait to see the extra add-on items this year, but I guess we won't get to see them until Sept 1. Loved the dies (esp. the tags with stars) and stamp sets last year. And I wonder what the DD albums will look like...

Ali's offering a 20% discount using promo code INSTA20K. sleepingbooty, I just used it to snag the KP stamp from last year and the discount covered shipping. Thanks for putting it on my radar.

Great minds think alike! I went straight for the stamp set (and a slickwriter pen) when I saw the email on my phone... It covered most of the international shipping cost for me too, yay. High five, order twinsie!

Liz's kit is my favorite so far. Love the red/black lumberjack plaid with the white and gold metallic. Cute little gold stars. triangle trees (are those vellum?). Great sayings for Christmas cards. Not planning on ordering any of these, but if I were going to order, this would be my choice.

Wow - the newest one is SO PINK. Not my style.
So I guess Jasmine's is my favorite. Crossing my fingers that Ali's kit is more traditional...

I love the sense of humour in Kelly M's kit. "Holla days" made me giggle out loud. But the colourways and 1960s design vibes with the milkshake and such is just not for me. I think it's cute and well executed but it in no way reflects my life. Especially not in winter. So, it's a pass with a little bit of regret. I just wish some of these sayings had been incorporated in Liz's kit! It looks like a super kit for the Southern hemisphere though! Kind of jealous. And yes, I'm totally stealing the "holla days" phrase. If it's available in the digi stamp set, I'm all in for that! So no proper adults-having-fun kit this year, boo that!

Wow. Didn't see that coming..... (Edited from my initial reaction of WTF?!). Aside from not being my style by any stretch of the imagination it really just flat out pisses me off to see them recycle a SC kit alpha and just change the color for that one. Really?! Can you not even come up with something unique for DD!? And I guess it just goes to show that same thing we have talked about on other threads.... Where the "name" on the kit isn't actually designing it but just giving ideas, colors, inspiration.
