So, spent almost a whole whopping $3 at a neighborhood yard sale on:
star-shaped confetti in gold, silver, and multicolored
three packs of Hallmark Christmas stickers (including one pack with Christmas Story dimensional stickers)
Two packs of Thanksgiving Hallmark Stickers
and several packs of other Hallmark stickers.
But talk about random, I have SO.MUCH.SEQUINS&CONFETTI.
How am I ever going to use it all?
Gotta stop buying it.

I have a special fondness for Hallmark items since that is how I got into scrapbooking. I love Hallmark stickers. My Mom was a verse creator for them when I was a little girl so I spent a lot of time growing up around Hallmark. I even got to go and walk through the hallowed halls. They are famed for not letting people in, least back in the day they were. Now, we all know where I grew up, lol. I am not the go to person about confetti. I bought flourish confetti at WalMart this weekend. Random talk- Am I the only one that is noticing scrapbooking/craft books do not have that great information in them any more and that YouTube is better? I feel so down about this because I love reading books. I am reading scrapbooking books right now and they are so uninspiring. I feel like some of my book magic is gone and it is YouTube's fault.

Random talk- Am I the only one that is noticing scrapbooking/craft books do not have that great information in them any more and that YouTube is better? I prefer pinterest. I'm a simple scrapper. I want to see a finished project and get ideas from a photo. I think I have ADHD. Watching a 20 minute tutorial on making a scrapbook page is torture. I like the tutorials for making things like embellishments.

I will never freeze! I do have seasons where I cut back on my scrappy purchases; but to completely and totally cut myself off? No way.
I went to HL this morning for a new album; picked up an artist's palate and a trimmer track replacement (you know, that white thing that the blade runs over in the fiskars trimmer?) too.
This afternoon I need to clean up from my weekend scrapping, then print some pictures. I am a slow scrapper; scrapped all weekend long (on and off) and completed four pages. Hubby will be out of town next weekend, so I hope to have a more productive marathon session.

I went to Michaels this morning and got 5 Iris containers to hold patterned paper. That was easy. In and out in 2 seconds!

My random scrappy input: I just got back from a weekend crop held at an artesian chocolate shop! They have a large room out back that they use to host all sorts of gatherings. The price to crop included four pieces of your choice of chocolate goodness each day, yum, so good! This was my first time going with my BFF scrap buddy and I definitely plan on returning

I spent Saturday afternoon choosing pictures for my next batch. I'm still debating on whether or not to do a monthly review for every month of 2015 or not. I also spent some time planning my Disney album. I've chosen my pictures and now I need to sort them into layouts so I'll know what size or order them in. My Say Cheese and Say Cheese II collections are calling to me and I really want to get started on scrapping those pictures. I'd love to have them ready to go for the October speed scrap. The shop is called Cocoa Vienna in Vienna VA. I traveled down from MD to attend this and I highly recommend the place if anyone lives in the vicinity! Dark chocolate is the number one thing I like to keep close and snack on during a crop Of course I have to keep washing my hands after indulging to prevent the inevitable fingerprint smears lol!

I finally reached the point where I realize I have too much stuff. I've said it many times before now and then gone on to buy when I see cute stuff. Now I am using maybe 1/20 of what I own (and that might be generous) because I have SO MUCH that I can't access it all.
So now I don't buy anything except adhesive unless it's on an extreme sale. My shopping urge has dropped considerably. There are times when I want to shop, so I fill up a cart somewhere and then close the browser window without buying. I think of all the things I already have and can't bring myself to buy more.
I still subscribe to the Felicity Jane kit. I love the products, but they still accumulate faster than I can use them. But I'm not going to give up this subscription anytime soon.
I just used the codes to get this month's $5 Stamp Kit and Story Kit. I love the concept but am a little disappointed in the execution. Still, it's a good value for the price.
I'm also making myself go through things for 10-15 minutes before I sit down to scrap. It adds up--yesterday I uncovered several embellishment packs and am storing like items together.
I could probably go on and on and on. LOL.

Silhouette: works great, but time consuming. Big Shot: no size/design flexibility, but crank and done. Agreed. I put off using my silhouette, but whip out the big kick and crank 1,2,3. I just bought some nested circle and scalloped circle dies because of this fact. My random scrappy talk is about a speed scrap in October that Linda and I will be doing. I don't think we'll be doing challenges or using prompts or anything. It'll just be about getting a lot of scrapping done in two weeks and maybe post on a thread to toot your own horn when you finish a layout. I think it'll be October 9-22 so if anyone wants to join us please feel free to do so. The more the merrier! OH, That sounds fun. I would be up for joining you for a speed scrap session. On the subject of tools, I just got an email about something new from We R Memory Keepers called a Precision Press - like a Misti. You can see it in action here. It's so much cheaper too!!! I almost purchased it. I may yet. Sometimes I have issues lining up the stamp with the die cut image in those coordinating sets, especially from stampendous. I don't know where you buy your pp, but years ago, I was spoiled by a kit club that included a "match me" cs option for each kit. Then when I moved on to a different on line store, I asked them--and they agreed--to include double sheets of matched cs with my kit: not for every shade, but for the non standard (so NOT white/black/cream/craft) colours of the collection they were using. On Cherry On Top 's website they offer cardstock matches to your purchase. I love that feature. Another use for cardstock: cut a template with your cameo, use for misting/texture paste etc. You can only use 2-3 times, but if you chose a colour you'd never use, it's not a waste! My problem is deciding *which* colour is ugly/not usable. I do this too. Especially if I'm teaching a class. Those kids can destroy a plastic stencil faster than anything. My random for today. I have an old (Montgomery Ward's old) sewing machine that I use on paper. Well during our move in 2014 the foot and ac cord were separated from the machine. I did find them, but have lost them again. I broke out my good sewing machine to sew on paper, remembered how much I liked it and ordered a little bitty machine that could set on my desk from amazon. It had a lot of mixed views so I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

One will be Say Cheese and the other Enchanted. I'm really looking forward to it! What is the October Speed Scrap? I'm not very speedy, but with all of the projects I have in mind, it's time I stepped it up. Not sure how my comment ended up inside the quote. Oh well...

oaksong, the speed scrap is just for getting as much done as possible in a two week period. No challenges or contests or anything. Just scrapping and posting about what we've accomplished. You're welcome to join us for as much or as little as you'd like. It's October 9-22.

I guess some YouTuber's consider that insulting doing something else while watching their videos. People do other things while watching TV so I don't know why it is insulting. I love YouTube and have to check my subscriptions every day for new things but I have to do something else while watching the videos.

I've been on a kick lately where I wanna have my albums organized. I went thru and labeled all of the spines and reorganized everything. Then last night I decided to go thru and figure out what I had scrapbooked and what was missing in terms of holidays and birthdays. I'm so proud of myself that I actually made a list of what was missing and what was done! It was funny to see how when I 1st started scrapbooking and only had one child, all the holidays and birthdays where done. Then as time went on and another child was born things got more spotty. And now within the last few years with everyone in band and what not, things are really iffy! Now I really want to make a concentrated effort to get caught up on at least Christmas and Halloween, as that is the biggest part of my stash and really needs to be chipped away at!

I did this too....the relabeling part. I tried to be really careful and get the labels back on the right scrapbooks, but I switched 2, and spent an afternoon trying to figure out what was wrong before I discovered what I had done. The reason it was so hard, it was 2 of my grands and many of the layouts had the same pictures, but a whole year of one was "Missing" after I switched the labels.

I had a hard time figuring out which Christmas was which, cause smart me didn't label all the layouts with the year!!! Now I'm putting the date or at least the year on EVERY layout! And I also found the same year on two different halloween layouts of my son in halloween costumes! It definitely took some sleuthing skills on my part as my memory gets a little foggy the further back I go!

I started going through my albums and even pulling out things that I thought could make a whole separate album. I only made it through 2 or 3 of them. I need like a whole week of devoted time and the kitchen table with a couple of folding tables set up to go with it.

Random scrappy: I purchased my ATG tape from the tape jungle. The first set was a bit off in terms of fit but not bad. My next order was a larger order. It doesn't work. It keeps popping off. It's like the quality control was way off. I'm thinking of trying to return it and order the more expensive Scotch brand from somewhere else. My 700 lid fell off so I ordered the 714 and that didn't help.

After complaining about the lack of trimmers available here, I went on Amazon and was able to find a Tonic Studios guillotine with small base that I wanted years ago and thought had been discontinued

Had to revive this thread lol.
I know this is stupid...or at least it feels like it should be stupid, lol. EVERY time I see new releases (or heck even old ones!) from MFT, I want to break out my wallet! I can't stop thinking about several of their dies that I’ve been eyeing.
It doesn't help that I LOVE Keisha Campbell and have been a follower of hers for years. She makes the most beautiful cards and is the epitome of all things MFT.
I should not be wanting to buy dies when I have a Cameo right? Please tell me I’m right, lol. It seems ridiculous.

The dies match the stamps perfectly - correct? You'll make adorable cards. You need them.
