...I do0n't know all that much about it, but isn't your library of shapes on your computer with the Silhouette software, melissas ? I know I don't HAVE to be hooked up to the internet to use my Silhouette and my library of shapes, I just have to have my Silhouette hooked up to my laptop. My random scrappy stuff: we're having a garage sale this coming Saturday, and I think I'm going to see if I can sell any of my 'extra' paper (paper I will never, ever use because of the patterns) and maybe some other stickers, etc. and my border punches. I just HAD to have all those border punches when they were first trendy, but I can NEVER get them to line up right, so the punched borders always end up looking like crap, or wasting paper! maybe I can get a buck or two for them... and that will force me to use my Silhouette more often, which is a good thing, too. Also, I need to finish the 'we've moved' cards-- we moved over Labor Day weekend, for gosh sakes-- and send them out, so people will know where to send our Christmas cards. And I need to start thinking about making Christmas cards, too! (I really like the cards made strictly with dies and/or punches, too- that's a thought; maybe I don't need to do any stamping / coloring for my Christmas cards, at all... hmmm...) Unfortunately, before I realized it was my anti-virus software, I tried upgrading my Silhouette software. It first cleared out my library and then was unable to update it, so I have nothing in my library to cut I could just kick myself for trying to upgrade it first because I'm missing my library! Annie had a great link for me to try when I get home from work to try and resolve it. No! I hope you can get it back once you get your issues worked out. There is the option to download your library from Silhouette up to 2 or 3 times. I've used it when I got a new computer, because I couldn't figure out the other way. Good luck getting everything resolved.

Random talk- Am I the only one that is noticing scrapbooking/craft books do not have that great information in them any more and that YouTube is better? I prefer pinterest. I'm a simple scrapper. I want to see a finished project and get ideas from a photo. I think I have ADHD. Watching a 20 minute tutorial on making a scrapbook page is torture. I like the tutorials for making things like embellishments. I am with you^^^. I will only watch a how-to video for specific things like learning a technique to use for designing and cutting something with my cameo. Otherwise, videos drive me nuts! ETA: Sorry, when I quoted this I didn't realize how far behind I was on reading these. Sorry to interrupt the current topics! Save

I find a lot of those LO tutorials frustrating, as well, jenr and refugeepea , especially the ones that are filmed before the speaker has decided exactly what to do, or where everything is. Some of the voice over videos with time lapse photography and an explanation of why the choices were made are better, but I don't watch videos enough to know which ones are the "good" ones. Lately I have been getting inspiration from Pinterest, and also from the manufacturers' blogs.

My time is valuable and I won't waste it watching a lazy poster.

Could you imagine me looking for the supplies I want to use for a layout? Oh I saw those ephemera bits were around here somewhere. Wait they are in the tub near the computer. Hang on a sec let me get them. One more second. OH LOOK BO BUNNY! I love Bo Bunny. But back to the project at hand. October Afternoon something or other right that's what we were doing. Remind me to make a Bo Bunny video next week. Ok let's get back to scrapbooking...let's do a layout with October Afternoon and what we will need is a piece of cardstock. Let's look in my stash and see what colour jumps out at us, shall we?
This is what Scrapbooking with Elannah would be like. This is why I don't make videos. (The tub of supplies IS near the computer AND the ephemera bits are in that tub...and there are Bo Bunny stickers in there, too. They need a real home, though). These kinds of videos bug me, too. Have your project right in front of you. It's just better that way.

I have decided tonight to buy a lot more thin dies. I use to think I would never buy thin dies. I have two electronic cutters. Why would I need dies? I am really loving the thin dies now. They fit so well in the way I craft now. I think they are better than my electronic cutters. You know...I thought the same thing, then recently I needed several doilies and ended up cutting a few on my Cameo. Intricate cuts like that burn through your mat and blades, though, and they're more prone to issues. I decided that's a situation where regular metal die is a lot more practical, and I'm ordering a few. I found a couple I'm completely in love with. I think I'm going to get 4 or 5. I want a very small one, about 2", and a couple standard 4"ish ones. So far I've picked out a Marianne die, the others are Waffle Flower dies. I didn't even realize Waffle Flower made dies! I ordered over 160 prints and had no idea shipping has got so high! I do have 20+ pages planned for my family album that is 12x12 with divided sheet protectors. I will probably get sick of doing that style and to back to one of my 8.5x11 albums.

Ugh I'm prepping DD pages and working with rubber charms from Pinkfresh Studio. They're adhesive and the adhesive is already melting and going gooey inside the pack. Means trying to peel it off and clean everything so my pages don't go gloopy.

I thought it might be due to the heatwave we were going through back in July and the fact we don't have airconditioning but I'm assuming it wasn't due to that after all? I remember having so much goo underneath my nails after taking it all off. Ugh, good luck to you and your manicure!

I have been sick so lots of reading and no scrapping. This weekend I did get the Martha Stewart bow punch. I love it so much. All the cute little 3d bows I can make now. I have so many ideas. www.amazon.com/Martha-Stewart-Extra-Large-Punch-3d/dp/B01CUQRMHU/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1478516463&sr=8-1&keywords=martha+stewart+bow+punch I did not pay that wallop of price. I took advantage of a Hobby Lobby sale. I got the Martha Stewart Medallion punch. Does anyone have this? I don't think I am using it right. Do the owners of this punch think it's a great punch or a dud. www.amazon.com/Martha-Stewart-Deep-Punch-Scalloped-Medallion/dp/B01CUQRNK6/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1478516505&sr=8-1&keywords=martha+stewart+medallion+punchmelissas- Did you get the anti-virus problem fixed. I heard this is a common problem for the Cameo. If you call them they probably can help. Save you a trip to the computer repair store. YouTube videos- I will always love them. I agree with you all about how unprepared some of the ladies are. I don't expect a lot from smaller YouTube channels but if they are getting revenue from a lot of subbies or on a Design Team then I really side eye how unprepared they are. These ladies are at the professional level and I expect a better made video. I sound like such a snob, lol. I prefer smaller YouTuber's that are funny with lots of quirks. Once they get too big I tend to stop watching. I feel like I am watching an ad and not art. elannah- I would love your videos. I really, really would. I bet you would be so much fun. My videos would be hilarious too. I know I would be looking all over my desk for something and everyone would be screaming at their monitor "Your cat is wearing it!"

I love my intricate dies because they are so quick and easy. I cut something intricate on my Cameo a few months back. It turned out beautifully. I set down to read a book while I was cutting it. I was on page fifty of my book. I finished the book and my Cameo was still going. It was a 400 page book. I am a patient person but there is a point. After that I said I was adding more dies to my library.

It's something to do with a chemical reaction between the rubber and some adhesives, including glue dots and whatever Pinkfresh are using on their items. It's a known issue so I don't know what they both to make them sticky. I wrote to them about it last night! SaveSave

I ordered my dad the Traveller's notebook today. We are going to China in April for about 3 weeks and he takes copious notes about trips so I think this is a natural progression. When in doubt, journal. I also want to inherit it one day. I want to read his thoughts on our trip. We are also going to Spain and France in September next year and I am sure he will take notes on that trip, too. I am giving it to him for the holidays. I am totally unsure if he will like it or not, but it is something fun for him to write his thoughts on our travels down on. I also need to get him a nice pen. That will be difficult because pens are very individual. I will have to take him to a stationery store and have him pick something out that feels good in his hand.

So now for anything like that if there's a thin die to cut a similar design to what I want, I'm all over that!

I am so excited! I'm starting my first page of my DD today! Since my DD's are more Christmas memories than an actual picture a day, I am ready. Yesterday I helped my daughter decorate her tree. I know it's early but she is having a Christmas party the first weekend in December and because of her work schedule she needed to start getting ready now. I am remembering how much I love doing a DD!!

Our nephew's wife is coming over tomorrow to make cards. Today i I plan to start Christmas baking and clean the kitchen so we can craft on the table in there tomorrow. Maybe I'll get a pic of my butter tarts...

I haven't been on 2 peas in probably a month. My retreat was great. I won the grand prize, stampin up stuff. Didn't really create a lot, but had a lot of fun. Booking for the spring retreat in May. I'm Christmas card making this weekend. I have decided I don't care I'm taking me time. I'm on strike. I am doing 2 loads of laundry (and not putting it away) making pulled pork in a crock pot and that's it. I just want me time and no care in the world and DH can look after me for once. I'm going to kit some stuff tonite. then get up tomorrow and start.

There's a store with a little bit of everything in my town. They had a clearance sale on some scrapbook items. I got about some Doodlebug sprinkles, brads, a few papers, and some misc. stuff for $20.00. Now I want to go back and get a wood craft for Christmas Decor. I swore I was going to cut back! BUT I can decorate it with scrapbook paper and it will be exactly how I want!

I wish had more time do it. Time is always what I need more of, too. Random scrappy talk.... I'm going to try to scrap today. I don't have any appointments to run kids to other than getting them to school. My youngest can hang with mommy. I'll just do laundry and not run around to fifteen different stores today. Actually, I shouldn't have said 'I wish I had more time.' I have plenty of time. We all do. We all have the same 24 hours in a day. We simply choose to spend it doing something else (like watching waaaay too much useless TV or playing hours of Candy Crush). What I should have said is that I should make scrapping a priority. Dust bunnies be damned!

DH just shakes his head, but I know the RefuPeas will totally get my happy dance performed at the end of this little story So, my random scrappy thing: I finished my three kids' pre-school through senior year school portrait layouts at the scrap retreat I attended in Oct (finally, lol, they're all in their 20s-30s now!) and have been on the hunt for albums to put them in. Well, WRMK has three cool looking black and white patterned 12x12 d-ring albums: plaid, dots and Ikat. Or so I thought! Everywhere I've been looking on-line has had only two of the patterns available. I swore I saw three at one time. Couldn't remember what the missing pattern was and going nuts searching! Anyway, I finally went directly to WRMK's website (duh!) and lo and behold there they all are. But at full price (yikes). Ultimately, with a little wincing, I bit the bullet. Because knowing my luck if I hemmed and hawed, *poof* they'd be gone. (She who hesitates is lost, right?) Couldn't wait to get them, but the order was supposed to show up in two weeks. Argh, the agony!! However, surprise, surprise, I got them in my hot little hands in less than seven days! Victory! (Woot, woot FedEx and USPS!) Albums will be filled and ready for perusing in time for everyone's arrival before Christmas! Love WRMK, and yay me!
