I'm soooo very sorry that you've been handed so much to deal with at once!!! (((HUGS))) I, too, believe from all I've heard and read, that cervical cancer is very, very treatable. Having precancerous cells means you caught it early, before it is even cancer, which is the job of the PAP smears we have done. I would seriously discuss what travel would do to your longterm health should you try it. I can't imagine sitting on a plane or in a car for any length of time in your situation, and if there longterm implications are that it might affect your future mobility, I would definitely not risk it. I know this is a special trip you had planned for/with your daughter. Does she have a bestie or other family member who could take the trip with her? That would mean you don't lose all of your $2200 if they can still use your dd's ticket and the hotel, if that is paid in advance. In your shoes, I would try to find a way for dd to go with someone else. And I'd be disappointed not to be doing it with my dd, but happy that she, at least, could go.Good luck with all you are facing! Prayers said! I was thinking this very thing as I read your OP. You have so much stressful going on right now, maybe sending someone in your place on the trip would lessen the stress a tiny bit. (((hugs)))

terri, I am sorry to hear about all you're dealing with. I have seen LOTS of rented scooters in Vegas (they're hard to miss, they have the company's sign right on the basket)-- although you're not supposed to sit, I suppose that is better than walking, especially if you have the inflatable donut. I hope you still manage to enjoy yourself, and happy birthday to your DD.

I broke my tailbone last year, and sitting was miserable. Walking, however, wasn't painful. The vertigo may make walking tough. I'm glad your dd will be with you. Take medication to get through the flight. I hope the donut can help you. I miss st have got the wrong kind or something cause the thing is wasn't much help. Driving was the worst for me, ouch!

I can totally understand you. If I listed all of my health issues it would read like a fast food menu. I am very ill and have more than one thing on my plate. I know what it's like to be in the midst of battling one diagnosis while getting diagnosed w/something new. IT SUCKS! I might not have been on vacation w/a broken tailbone, but due to joint issues I fracture my feet regularly. I went on a 2 week vacation w/2 broken feet in addition to my other health issues. You can do Vegas and I'm not so sure that it won't help to walk around. Rent a wheelchair if you need to. The donut will be essential. Can you get a quickie referral to physical therapy? A physical therapist can give you travel tips and help you prepare. Perhaps a cane will take some of the pressure off of your tailbone, lower back? My cane is pretty w/purple flowers and it cost $25 at the pharmacy. One benefit is that you'll be a pre-board. If you're flying Southwest you just ask for a pre board pass at the gate. However, if you're flying another airline then I suggest calling and requesting a pre-board pass. TBH, I think you have earned a vacation. A lawn chair in the shade w/a good book followed by some fun stuff sounds right. I feel for you w/all that you have going on, but you'll get through all of this. Things will settle down. Even w/illness things can get better.

I'm so sorry you are dealing with all of this.
Since your vertigo is ongoing, vestibular therapy may help. It may not cure the vertigo, but it could be that you learn to manage it.
I had a sinus infection and have a mass of scar tissue on my right inner ear that caused massive vertigo. I would fall out of bed and couldn't bear to be upright. I had 18 months of PT and OT to rewire my brain around the mass. I won't lie-it was miserable therapy. They had to make me dizzy to force the brain how to deal with it. I was a patient at the Wounder Warrior Center at Walter Reed-it's a pretty rare therapy and not a common PT specialty. It took about 2 months to see noticible progress and another 2 months after that before I had hope that it may actually work.
I'm at about 90% function. I have bad days, but nothing like those early days. My hearing can also come and go, but it's pretty good again. The brain remapping worked there, too. I sincerely hopes it helps you too.

I was diagnosed with pre-cancerous cervical cells in my 20s (1995). They did a colposcopy and then a leep procedure to remove them. It was outpatient. I haven't had any trouble since and I'm now in my mid-40s. Hopefully yours will be just as benign. Jen This is exactly my experience. I actually had 3 occurances of pre-cancerous cervical cells in my early adult years. The first was treated with an outpatient procedure called a cervical conization. I had to have more frequent paps for a couple of years. Several years later, I had another diagnosis, which was treated with a colposcopy as jenb72 described. The 3rd and last diagnosis was treated right in my gyn's office. I don't remember the name of the procedure, but it was pretty simple. That has been over 25 years ago, and smooth sailing since then. Prayers lifted that your issues are resolved quickly and easily. The tailbone fracture sounds very painful!

I recently cancelled a trip to LA. I cancelled the Monday before my Thursday flight. I was refunded the hotel and car fully. The airline took 200.00 per person and refunded the rest. You might want to check into that. My trip was booked through Expedia. I don't know if that makes a difference.
