I also agree that the note is not a police matter because there was no threat made. The person who left the note is a misguided little coward who left their opinion and then ran. As disturbing as it was in finding the note it was just someone's opinion. And as we alll know we all have opinions about this election and some are more forth right in expressing them then others who leave little pithy notes and then run. And in retrospect that might be a good thing because who wants to get into a rumble in a supermarket parking lot?
I also think we should be careful in the use of the word "deplorables" when it comes to Trump supporters. Hillary was quite clear who she was talking about when she gave her speech about the alt right. The alt right is a group of people who would like nothing better then to take this country down a dark dangerous road of an all white country. And they should be labeled as " deplorables". For various reasons these individuals think Trump is their guy.
The truth is Trump has all kind of supporters who are not and should not be labeled as "deplorable". Misguided maybe but not deplorable. The fact that some of Trump's supporters wear "deplorable" as a badge of honor is a testimony to Trump's ability to stir up his supporters. And I don't think those of us on the left should encourage these misguided Trump supporters by labeling all or even most Trump supporters as "deplorable".
I am sorry you found that note. I'd be pissed too but then I would consider the source.

Really? Over his political stance? I have many friends and family who have different beliefs than I do. We are not all going to believe the same things, ever. What is so hard to respect and have open minds? I have never considered myself "political" or even paid this much attention to the going ons of the election but this year is so entertaining, I just can't help it. What gets me about it all is how people insult the "other side" just for supporting them, not based on anything else. Terrible behavior that is not ok. I didn't read this as cycworker would boycott his business, but that it would be a better tactic for someone like the angry woman than spitting. I have friends with diverse beliefs, but I've also decided to spend my money elsewhere if I disagree with a company's policies. Usually it's larger corporations, but I've avoided local mom and pops if they've taken a strong stand against a local cause I support, or exhibited ugliness in the community. I don't think that's unusual. That's pretty much it. I admit if I were in the US I could not give my business to a company that openly supported Trump. I'll no longer support a women's soccer player because she liked a couple of Trump's tweets that were racist. It's not a blanket case of 'If you don't vote my way I won't shop here, or support your career or... " If you want to support a candidate who incites racism, ableism, homophobia, and sexism, go ahead. But be wise enough not to be public about it. Because if you're public about it I will judge you & I may not give you my business. In the specific case of Gina's dh, if I'm a long time customer I would likely know that he's not supporting Trump because he agrees with him on race, etc. So I could agree to disagree. But if I were a new customer? How would I know? And as such, I'd likely choose to not risk giving my business to someone who agrees with Trump's more deplorable views. So as a person in business or a public figure of another variety (athlete, entertainer) the wisest course of action is to hide it if you're pro-Trump.
