compared to what I'm thinking right now of Trump and some of his supporters. I live in a nice neighborhood- townhouses $375-$500K; single family homes $550-$2million. I took my niece and nephew who are visiting from Israel to pick up a couple of things from our local Giant grocery store this morning. It is a smaller store in a strip mall in the middle of the neighborhood 1.5 miles from my townhouse. We went shopping for sodas, vitamin water, Kosher popcorn, typical teen stuff. Get back to the car put away our groceries and then when I get behind the wheel, I notice THIS note left on my windshield: The freaking coward ripped off his customer ID number. I went in and spoke to the store manager and he said that with the time stamp and the total they could look up the customer, but they couldn't do it without a police report. So, my option is to waste the police's time to file a report to chew this guy out, or just live with some #sshst's cowardice. I hope Trump supporters feel so proud of what his words make people free to do and say. How patriotic is it to try to threaten/puclicly chastise someone for posting their policital support? My offending car magnet simply says "My Vote is for Hillary" - nothing more. Way to demostrate the freedom that my husband who served 23 years in the Navy helped make possible for all the deplorable Trump supporters out there. If that isn't you, fine, but don't try to tell me that Trump's vile hate-filled garbage that he spews at a rapid rate hasn't brought *ssholes into the light of day and feel supported in threatening people who aren't voting for Trump. Yes, there are more violent ways to threaten people. But when I go grocery shopping at 9:30 in the morning in a small neighborhood grocery store with two teens and come out to my car to find a nasty note like this, I find that threatening. And the person KNEW it was wrong, or he wouldn't have ripped the customer ID info off. Deplorable is right.

It's so scary how some people think and act. Just keep your head up and try to ignore the cowardly idiots of the world. November 9th can't get here soon enough!

Probably doesn't make a difference, but a woman wrote that note. Not a man. I'm sorry this happened to you. It's awful the way people are treating each other over an election. Yes, it is possible to disagree and still treat each other with respect and even work together to solve issues.

File that report. See how much of a bully he/she is when the police show up at his/her door. What an ass.

ITA, that it would be a waste of time for your police department; however, that doesn't mean that I don't find the note incredibly vile. Whether you support Trump or Clinton notes like that come from sick, angry people. It's probably a good thing that you can't confront the person, because they could be dangerous. I would be furious and upset if I had found that note on my car. You're right. The author of that note is a great, big a$$ht w/a minor in rotten.

Yeah, that is beyond Pea-livid!! What a coward and whoever wrote this truly is deplorable. For the record, I am not a Hillary supporter but I am glad I live in a country that gives the people the freedom of choice. This person is just an a$$!

Who does this? What if I had younger kids with me? Who thinks this is acceptable behavior other than someone who is deplorable?

Things like that are happening on both sides. In my community, Trump signs are being stolen. Some people are just ignorant and can't seem to live and let live.

I am still shaking I'm so mad.
If people feel free to do this before the election over the most benign or bumper stickers, what is going to happen if Trump loses? Or worse, if he wins? Will these people feel even more encouragement to engage in this type of behavior and worse?
THIS is exactly why Trump is literally dangerous for our country.

Yeah, I would have been happier if someone simply stole my $10 magnet. This is a much more personal threat. And I don't EVER hear Hillary encouraging aggressive behavior. Ever.

I think it was a woman too....if some of his female supporters are willing to wear the "You Can Grab My Pussy" t-shirts to his rallies, they could easily leave that note and to me, it's looks like female handwriting.
I wish I had the courage to put a Clinton/Kaine magnet or sticker on either of my rides, but I just don't trust people and that's sad. Yes, I may flip the bird to some ginormous Trump/Pence sign that someone with the thinking "bigger is better" but I would NEVER leave someone a note, or worse, vandalize someone's property.
I also have my Clinton/Kaine signs on the inside of my front window because signs were being stolen all over the area.
I'm sorry that happened to you. People suck.

I'd be Pea Livid, too. There was an altercation at one of the early voting locations in my area this week. I sure wouldn't want to be a poll worker right now.

elaine that is horrible! What an awful thing for your visitors to witness too. Please call the police, can't this be seen as some sort of harassment? I hate to even suggest this, but do you have some religious emblem that elevates this to another type of crime? This makes me sick, I've (idealistic) believed our country will heal from this election. Now I'm not sure, the damage is real. I'm so sorry.

I would line my yard with Hilary signs. This is how I deal with people like this. Show her that her words don't have any effect on you and that you don't waiver on your beliefs. Jen

Stuff like this is why I don't want anything on my car to say who I'm for. Same thing in conversation. Really only my husband and my mother know my thoughts.
While sitting in traffic yesterday I noticed the different magnets/bumper stickers/etc on cars. It occurred to me that there will be a few intentional accidents on the roads the day after the election. If I didn't have to go to work that day, I wouldn't. I have a bad feeling about when the winner is announced.

I'm so sorry this happened to you! Every election cycle seems to get worse with a few supporters on both sides making fools of themselves. None of the Trump supporters I know would ever even consider doing something like this. Someone's taking things way too personally (not you OP, the note writer)! I'd totally go to the police- if the same person has done this to others, they may have more complaints and could do something about it.

I'm so sorry that happened to you. One of the things that has disappointed me so much about this election is that Donald Trumps "tell it like it is" mentality has made people feel that it's OK to do things like this. There is a time and place to speak your mind, but it's important to remember that decent common courtesy should still rule. Unfortunately, it seems like a lot of DT's supporters have forgotten that.

I'm sorry this happened to you. I would be pea-livid as well. In '08 we had an Obama yard sign. We had lived in our subdivision for over 15 years and were on good terms (I thought) with our neighbors. DH and I had been at the UW Hospital where I had been given an upsetting diagnosis so it already was a rough day. When we got home, DH found an anonymous handwritten letter stuffed in our mailbox addressed to us by our first names excoriating us for our support of Obama. We were livid that whoever wrote it didn't have the guts to sign it. DH wanted to check with the neighbor we thought might have written it or report it to the PO but I told him to drop it and call headquarters for two more yard signs. I'll make another donation to HRC today in your honor elaine.

Well, it's not a crime to be a coward. What could the police do? Chalk it up to the "boldness" of anonymity, which is exactly the same as cowardice.

I'm sorry that happened to you elaine . I would report, the Police can't act if it's not reported. You might not be the only one. They might not be so keen to repeat the performance if they think a Police Officer will turn up on their doorstep for an explanation. On a lighter note, surely buying croissants is unAmerican.
