In that talk, he was ABSOLUTELY mocking the reporter. I'm really surprised that you'd fall for those twisted words. What a load of crap. As the wife of a disabled person, I was horrified when he said it the first time, and it's very upsetting to see it over and over. It does NOT get any easier to hear.
I can't believe people are trying to justify what he did by saying it wasn't that. Of course it was.

Even though. Because you know what he looks like in all situations? EXACTLY like the jerks in middle school who would call people "retards" and make spastic motions. Even though the person they were mocking wasn't disabled in anyway, those jerks were undeniably mocking the disabled. That's exactly what Trump is doing here. Even if the reporter target weren't actually disabled, he is still undoubtedly making fun of the disabled like a clueless, mean, bully 12 year old. When I was growing, this was kind of common. Then people explained to us how hateful and cruel it was and we stopped. I taught fifth graders and can happily say that that kind of mocking was never done in class. Kids know better. Now there is a 70 year old man who would do that kind of mocking in front of a 20,000+ crowd and in front of cameras. Why? It just shows you how sheltered of a life he has led and that he thinks he can do or say anything to a crowd and the rest of the nation and world will stand with him. It is unreal to me. Exactly. My father, an "anyone but a Clinton" voter was appalled by Trumps arm flapping. Dad is 80, he and my mother taught us it was wrong back in the 1960's. It's really hard for me to find a way to excuse this, no matter who Trump was describing. He's still talking about his busy schedule and saying Hillary needs naps- as if his stamina is being questioned. He so misses the mark on what's important here, it's scary.

I would love to see the Venn diagram of posters who complain about bullying/mocking/rudeness on this board and also support somebody who consistently mocks others.

specially after that NBC poll that said that the thing voters found most abhorrent about Trump was this incident. the "thing voters found most abhorrent...."? yikes, scary to think how long the list actually was. i don't care what reason he did it, he still looked like an idiot for goodness sake.

Whatever helps you sleep at night. Actually it is a relief. The way the press has presented it is that he was mocking the disabled. Turns out he wasn't. I really don't think that you are that gullible but what hurt my feelings a little is that you think that we are.

Well, she's performed the mental gymnastics to make it seem acceptable. It will be interesting to see if she can stick the landing when she's called out, and rightfully so, on this complete bullshit through the long haul. What's funny and ironic is that she's mocking the "hard core Hillary supporters" like we are all just too stupid to see and hear what the douchebag has said. I'll never again read another word of beckytech's posts without thinking about this thread. I bet he pulls that "involuntary hand movement" shit again. "Oops sorry Miss, I didn't grab your pussy, I just talk with my hands"

Even though he used the exact same mannerisms to mock Ted Cruz? Even though. Because you know what he looks like in all situations? EXACTLY like the jerks in middle school who would call people "retards" and make spastic motions. Even if the reporter target weren't actually disabled, he is still undoubtedly making fun of the disabled like a clueless, mean, bully 12 year old. Exactly my thoughts. The people who make those gestures and mock people to infer that they are mentally disabled... I've called my own mom out on that. It's insulting to people with disabilities. He is pathetic.

How about the gymnastics the press has used to make it look like he was actually mocking the disabled?
The press didn't need to perform any gymnastics. I watched him speak and drew my own VERY OBVIOUS TO THE NAKED EYE AND FUNCTIONING BRAIN WITHOUT ANY THIRD PARTY INTERPRETATION NEEDED conclusions. Caps used appropriately!!! i'm sorry if you can't see that with your own two eyes.. your head is so far up Donald Trump's ass you will never be able to see the truth if Jesus Christ himself came down from Heaven and told you straight to your face!

Anyone who saw the video from the first day it was aired drew the same correct conclusion of the truth of it. Further Drump denied knowing the reporter which was proven false. Such a revolting human being who keeps digging himself further and further into a hole of lies upon lies upon lies of who he's insulted; pretty much EVERYONE who isn't an older white guy.😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡

Tough shit....it's a public message board and if you get your ass handed to you because of ridiculous bullshit things you post, don't whine and say you didn't post it for everyone to comment. Read what I said. No whining here. I said I did not post it for the hard core Hillary supporters. I never said that people couldn't comment. I know that nothing is going to change the minds of the hard core Hillary supporters. The ones that gear up the outrage machine at every breath that Trump takes.
I wonder where the outrage about bullying was when Biden said he wanted to take Trump behind the gym? Oh, wait, that's okay as long as it was someone on the left making those comments. After all, it's a righteous cause. Where was the outrage when the Clinton campaign referred to "needy Latinos" and "taco bowl engagement"? Or how about discussing how they could use Eric Garner? His daughter is pretty ticked off over this discussion. Where was the outrage when they lamented that the San Bernardino shooter wasn't white?
Here's a favorite: How strengthening bribery laws so legislation can't be changed for political reasons. But, it's "REALLY dicey territory for HRC, right?" wikileaks.org/podesta-emails/emailid/17343#efmAFHAHJARzATdAeFAfj
I could go on and on, but there is never any outrage over anything connected to Hillary. C'est la vie
And YOUR candidate could walk out to 5th Ave and shoot someone and wouldn't lose a vote....so spare me your outrage over what members of her campaign said in confidential emails that were stolen. Save it for the people to who you directed this thread.

I think...if Trump somehow manages to win...your head might actually explode. No, I see it because I have eyes connected to my brain.
ETA: If my son did the *exact* same thing, he would be in huge trouble with me. It has nothing to do with the fact that I loathe Trump, but it's made worse because it was done by an adult who wants to lead this nation, in public, on camera, and people still defend it.

Let's say he WASN'T mocking the disabled... Even then, I still don't think I've seen any Trump supporters answer the question 'why is it okay for him to mock ANYONE' ? ? ? (EITHER while he's in the public eye campaigning to be our next President- or at all, actually??? )
I'd really like a Donald Trump supporter to answer this for me. And come on, the words he says go with the actions-- you can't just take the arm movement by itself in a vacuum to determine what he's actually doing / saying.
--------------------------------------------------------------
I always thought making fun of someone for any reason was pretty much agreed in our society to be something you just don't do (unless, perhaps, your job is as a COMEDIAN, and even then, it can get kind of iffy...) Was my small-town Midwestern upbringing so very sheltered and it really IS acceptable in our society to mock someone with no consequences at all?? (Read that last question with a bit of sarcasm, there. I personally do believe society is going downhill in the level of civility and politeness, but I did think mocking people was still not okay, even today.)

I know people and work with people who talk with their hands and I do it on occasion. Can't think of a time where anybody just accidentally turned in their wrist and held their arm into their body in a way that looks like it is inadvertently mocking somebody who is disabled. And if somebody somehow just fell into that motion and it was brought to their attention, I'm sure he/she would listen with respect and make a concerted effort to not do it again. And if it was done repeatedly after somebody expressed concern? That is just a dick move. On the other hand, my workplace wouldn't support constant mocking of others anyway.

Regardless of how any of you feel about who he mocked or why he mocked them, how do you feel about the inevitable backlash if this man is voted POTUS and then does that to the leaders of other countries or their dignitaries?
Just asking, because this will be your new reality on the world stage and you might want to consider how that will come across when playing in an international playground.

I know you are being flippant, but the rest of us have seen the video and are shaking our collective heads at the posturing and attitude and lack of any actual rhetoric. The US is not a teeny tiny state somewhere in the Ocean - it is one of the largest economies in the world. You (the collective you) need to understand the ramifications that the election will have. To be honest, I can not honestly say that either candidate is better than the other and that, given that I do not live in the US, but am affected daily by it, concerns me deeply.
