I will give it a try too. I plan on still getting my AE kit for January but I think I am cancelling after that.

Not even for just one month? C'mon! Think of it as a 'quick start' to making better purchases. I'm a compulsive shopper LoL...I keep opening this thread and thinking ok, I'll join, it's only a month! If this was clothes shopping, I'd sign right up...I have 2 prs of new jeans, and 2 pairs of shoes, I'm good until 2018, let's do this! But..threaten to cut off my paper, and I'm all "Let's not be rash here..." I keep trying to figure out how long it'll be after CHA for the "good stuff" to ship...when that will fall, if there's anything I "desperately" need, etc. And, let's be honest, my great great grandchildren will still be inheriting my stash. There's nothing I truly need. But you say spending freeze, and my addiction says

I really need to take this no spend seriously because I think I legit have a problem. I bought 40 pieces of lularoe from September to now. I'm going cold turkey except my citrus twist kit and I think I'll be a better person finding satisfaction in other ways, like USING the supplies! Lol

Lol I had to look up what Lularoe was...lol! I barely ate anything from the day before Thanksgiving through Cyber Monday...good shopping takes my mind COMPLETELY off food! I had just started a new medicine the day before and my family thought it was going to make me anorexic (no ill will meant), but in reality I was just on a shopping high. This is the best time of year for me to provide everything my family (and my mom and her husband) will need for the next year. New blankets, sheets, warm clothes for DD19 who walks around campus, clothes and boots for the entire family, etc. All for next to nothing. Scrapbooking goodies are just the icing on the cake! I'm still looking for good deals for everything but scrapbooking...must stay frozen!

ha!! moraie I can tend to be the same way - but I have been focusing on being more thoughtful about what I buy. I create so much more when I am not drowning in product!

I'm in..and hope to extend for all of 2017. I'm about to receive my last AE kit in December and I have a whole room overflowing with stuff. We are downsizing to an apartment later this year, less than half the size of our current house, so I need to do something drastic!

I would totally be up for this as long as I could buy adhesive and cardstock. I've been really wanting to spend some time just using what I have! Definitely this...I find that there is something so enjoyable about actually sitting down and using what I have. In reality I probably scrapbook shop more than I actually scrapbook. I use the shopping as a quick way to engage with my hobby when I don't have the time to sit down and work. In January, I will take the time to use what I have, and find enjoyment in my abundance of supplies! SaveSave

Since I have purchased a few wanted, but not necessarily needed, non-scrap items this month, I'm in for January! No craft items! I vow: Not to open enabling threads. Not "window shop" online. Delete any craft related emails that I get. No side trips to craft stores. Not to watch crafting youtube videos This is going to be hard...

The last time I stopped buying for awhile I stopped watching YouTube videos and stopped lurking here. It was hard, but it was something I felt I had to do to be successful. Now that I'm chatty here, it would be sad to walk away!

I'm in. I will try to limit my purchases to photos and my kit memberships (AE and KP). I really shouldn't even have to buy adhesive! Also, no new paid classes until I complete some of the ones I haven't finished (or started!).
I need to delete marketing emails and avoid the Target Dollar spot (that adds up so fast).
I also need to set a creation goal. It's not enough to simply stop buying, I need to USE some of my stash which means not spending my time looking at scrappy inspiration or chatter or social media and actually CREATING! Bold concept, I know.
Maybe we need a creation challenge or at least support group to stay accountable and cheer each other on in creating as well as not spending. 100 LO challenge seems a bit daunting to me, but something doable would give me a target and potential for a reward purchase (if needed) to look forward to.

I'm in - with adhesive and photo printing exceptions (although I might be able to make it through January without those depending on how much I scrap) I have a crop to get ready for in March and really need to use my stash - at least for January!
I'm in!

If I can keep my butt out of Tuesday Morning, I actually have a good shot of making it through. My exception is printing photos. I have plenty of everything else so, what the heck, I'm in!

Realistically, I can't pass up a good deal. But I don't need anything. My goal for myself will be a modification of no-spend: I need to either sell something in my stash to pay for it or I have to use up/giveaway the equivalent. I think I can, I think I can...

See I'm interested but I just started a sub that I've been trying to get back on for a while. So could I join? Even though I subbed to a kit?

My plan for the new year is just my hip kits and finishing out my lawn fawn wish list. I unsubscribed from all the steals emails a while back because it was too much temptation. Also, I did a bunch of pre-orders this year and got duplicates in my hip kits. That helped me realized that I am definitely in the right kit club and just need to do that only. My last couple of warehouse boxes haven't been great so I have sworn those off.
We'll see.

I'll join, I have done way more spending in October/November and December then I have the rest of 2016. Apparently if I didn't have the exact same item to make a Christmas card I liked, I had to run out and buy the exact same item plus some So even though I did well and made over 140 Christmas cards this year (yay, 2Peas Christmas card exchange) I still have way more then I will need or use!! So I will take the entire month of January off and not spend anything. I will even use the paper I have and I do have enough adhesive. The only exception will be if I have to make a special request item for 4-H or someone else

Tuesday Morning is my downfall. I go several times a week. We have two in town and another two in neighboring towns. The thrill of the hunt kills me. So while I have no intention of joining you ladies, I will support your endeavors! Perhaps a few of you can post your agony as the month progresses. coloradocropper I forgot if you are the pea from CS or not. I know we are close though.

I want to get in on this, too. I'm positive that I have everything I need besides maybe adhesive and cardstock. I wonder how much scrapping I can do. Like infochick and maryjo said, I'd love to use what I have and enjoy it.

I'm in. For a split second, when I read about catseatcheese and her full YEAR of no scrappy spending, I thought she was crazy. But now I'm going to follow suit. I can do this. I gave up my AE kits in November and even though I like Hip Kit Club, I'm not using the kits (because I already have so much scrappy crap) so I'll cancel as soon as the December kit arrives. FJ is my hold-up. I really, really enjoy those kits. I know there were a few others who mentioned a full year freeze. Does it count if I just keep one kit?

Earlier I saw a destash YouTube video ohsnapgonzo was doing and it took every ounce of restraint I had not to order up two of her boxes! They looked soooo pretty. Also...if it hadn't started to snow yesterday, DD17 and I were going to Tuesday Morning for tights. Just going in that store is dangerous, so I was thankful for the snow! Some days I think this will be easy...

I am keeping my Felicity Jane subscription - but will not be purchasing any other scrapbook related items or any add ons in January. So in theory I am spending something in January....but my goal is to stop the nickel and dime purchases that are outside of my kit.

Yes, I will join you.
My dog is having very expensive surgery on his knees, so cutting back on spending in all areas is a great idea.
I know I may need adhesive, cardstock, albums, page protectors; maybe a cut file here and there (I bought myself a Cameo for Christmas). Other than that, I will not buy scrap-crap.

So who is going to last-minute binge shop in December before the January freeze? LOL! It's like pigging out on favorite snacks the day before you start a diet!
