Okay, so the more seriously I thought about doing this freeze, the more I wanted to spend money this week. (And I did!) I think if I joined it would totally backfire on me. So instead, I'm going to challenge myself to use what I have, with deadlines. Like catseatcheese suggested. Maybe if I focused on that, I'd have less time to shop. For example, Week 1: Use favorite kit/collection to make X number of layouts. Week 2: Make X number of layouts using Sketches Week 3: Make my own embellishments using favorite company's ephemera as inspiration Week 4: Catch up on _____ Project that is unfinished. Anyone else want to do this with me? I'd be into this challenge as well! I really like the idea of using up stash on top of the freeze. As I said before, let's post pics of our creations because that's super motivating and inspiring to stay strong. I want you all to know, that I had a moment of weakness yesterday at Tuesday Morning as I had 2 packs of paper in my hand trying to decide on one to buy. Instead I put BOTH back down on the shelf and walked out of the store. It was a small victory but I felt pretty good.
Way to go! I think we need to share these successes and struggles in addition to projects completed. For me, the main reason for my freeze is to shrink my stash - money saved is a bonus.

Today, I unfollowed and unsubscribed from everything scrap-related except Kelly Purkey. There wasn't a huge amount to get rid of on social media and in my inbox to begin with but every little bit counts! Also, I have a newfound love for the large Glis box with lid from IKEA. I've reorganised my scrap supplies using a few of these during Christmas break and I love it. They stack easily (the little round feet lock in place into the lid from the box underneath), are cheap (although over a dollar more expensive in Europe at 4,99€ ), sturdy, customisable (the little compartment walls on the inside slide in and out of place), have a lid you can easily clip off if you want to keep it open. I've gone back and forth about what to do with my PL for 2017 but seem to have settled on: - 6x12 WRMK album - page protectors from my little stash cut down to fit the 6x12 format - white cardstock - grey and black StazOn ink - minimalist aesthetics Scandi-style - one 6x12 spread per month - cutting down on "filler photos" (food/coffee pics, sunsets, random landscapes, etc.)

I'm a big fan of the Minimalists and have followed them for quite a while now. Their documentary (Minimalism: A Documenary About the Important Things) made it to Netflix mid-December, they have a few books out as well and a really wonderful podcast with plenty of episodes too! There was even a mention of scrapbooking in one of the episodes. Although I've been into minimalism for years and have, in comparison to what I see on here when scrap rooms are toured, a tiny stash, I still feel like I still have quite a road ahead to reach a level of minimalism I'm happy with. It's definitely a journey! The Minimalists also have two very general minimalism introduction TED talks for any beginners: 1 2
