I have remained frozen in 2017. 😊 i am a stress shopper and this past week has been full of stress. Lost my dad 12/26, but he had a wonderful Christmas seeing all the kids and 4 very close friends. We had brought him home just 3 weeks ago, after he had been in a nursing home for 1.5 years (had 2 strokes). We are trying to focus on the positive, he was home, saw friends and family, veterans were at the cemetery with salutes, guns and flag presentation to my mom. As a WW2 navy vet, he would have been so honored!!! The day he was buried, my 4 kids took our 12 year old boxer to the vet to be put down. He had a stroke. Please forgive the long post, but it feels quite cathartic. Because I had originally decided to freeze in January, and then everything happened, I now have orders from Jillibean, ACOT and scrapbook.com coming. i had taken scrapbooks for the viewing and they were enjoyed by many. i have a picture of my dad when he was around 4 years old which I will scrap one day. Pictures are treasures, aren't they? So sorry for your losses. I'm glad you had that time with your Dad though.

I went to Hobby Lobby today to pick up a shelf that was backordered for DD. I did not even walk past the registers! The manager retrieved my item, I paid for it and left. Whoo! Wow! That's willpower!

I caved yesterday and bought 2 of the knock-off Raskog carts at Costco, but in my defense I knew about them last week when I saw the thread posted here but I couldn't get to Costco until yesterday, lol. Other than that, I am SUPER tempted to buy a Clique Kit Warehouse box (thanks ellewood lol!) that went up yesterday but I have held strong!!

I had to go into Michael's to return some items today. I had some time to kill before the next store opened so I walked around (so dangerous, I know). I even picked up a few things. But I was able to put them down and leave the store empty-handed. Major victory!

Walking away with my head hung in shame... Traitress! ss My condolences. I don't think you should put yourself under the stress of a challenge like this one when you're at a time in your life when you need to handle a different major kind of stress and just find a way to comfort yourself. I hope scrapping the photos will, in time, become part of your healing process.

Three days in and I've held strong.
A gal who works for me is having a birthday this month and she's been asking me about card making/stamping. I'm thinking of getting her a few good inks and maybe some cardstock and a stamp set. I know she placed an order with a friend who had a SU! party so it wouldn't be out of order. That would be OK since the items aren't for me right?😄

I signed up,for a learn to crochet class this Thursday evening. Different craft, new expenses I am sure. I need a downstairs craft for when I want to hang with my husband and this is always something I have wanted to learn. But so far no scrappy purchases.

Walking away with my head hung in shame... It's ok. You are still one of us. No one is perfect all the time. ss...... I duplicate the sentiments expressed by everyone else. That is way too much to deal with. My condolences. So glad you all got to spend Christmas with your dad. So happy he got the honors he well deserved.

I forgot to add...still deleting store emails. Really haven't had much time to be tempted by actual shopping.

ss, so sorry for all you have been through. I hope that putting your photo memories together will bring you some comfort. I just cleaned up 3 months worth of projects and purchasing. In order to use it up, I should only create fall and Christmas items for the next few years straight. No need for any purchases here!

This is all making me realize how many emails I get per day from scrappy stores and sites. Holy cow! No kidding. Every new one that comes in, I'm hitting "unsubscribe" unless it's one that I have a commitment/subscription. Before I had several new emails every time I checked my phone. Now, not so many. I also did this with store emails. Maybe next season I'll find fewer things in my closet with tags attached. LOL SaveSave

Whispers
Bought three things at the Target Dollar Spot. A 4 pack of diecut felt feathers, and two Valentine's stamp sets. Total spent, $3.
Hangs head in shame.
But it's cheaper than wine, right?

My "hangs my head in shame" moment came yesterday to the tune of $140...now I'm frightened of what I will receive in the mystery boxes that I had no willpower to resist! What did I do?

I also did this with store emails. Maybe next season I'll find fewer things in my closet with tags attached. LOL It's crazy, isn't it? I loved cleaning out my inbox permanently back in December. I did it for all promotional emails and it felt so good (although I felt like I'd never see the end of the constant stream of open-me-and-buuuuy messages). The greatest part about the inbox cleanse is that it has automatically changed a daily habit: since I have far less incoming emails in my personal inbox, I'm checking my emails less and spending far less time combing through them. Instead, when I take a little break now, I just listen to a podcast or a radio station for 10 minutes using my phone rather than scan money-hungry emails on there.

I caved today. I'm so weak! I found the HA stamp positioned at Michaels and snapped it up before it was gone! And while I was there, I picked up a blade for my Cameo as well as the pen holder. But I used a gift card so that can't possibly count right?

So far so good I do have a pass to spend a $25.00 gift card to Stamps of Life and I spent my 5% discount at Altenew that expired this month. I also made 4 cards on Monday
