*Big Brother UK voice* "Day ten, she has started talking to her albums." Seriously, I'm having commitment issues today. 6x8 or 6x12 for PL this year? I just don't know anymore. 6x12 is beautiful. 6x8 is super practical. Just to take off the shelf, hold in your arms, move around. Also, I've finally realised I'm just not the kind of person who will ever hold on to sentimental stuff for sentimentality's sake. I'll never be the girl who keeps coffee cup holders, tickets, business cards, etc. I can try and I can temporarily succeed (although I was never able to make the habit stick). Then, a year later, as I flip through my album, I just don't see the point in it. I love it when I see photos of PL pages of other people that include those little life extras, I roll my eyes at myself when I look back at periods in my scrappy life when I attempted to do it. Oh well, you live and you learn. On the plus side: I'm working through my questions and doubts regarding my life documenting instead of buying supplies to fit possibility A and then, a few months later, not liking the fit or feeling like I "need a change" and throw cash at supplies for possibility B, essentially doubling the cost.

My citrus twist kit will be here tomorrow. Perfect timing because I'm fiending for new stuff! So it'll definitely satisfy my craving!

I've made almost 40 pages since the middle of December so I may do a paper shop when paper issues get the new lines in. I'm definitely making a dent in my stash! *thud* that is AMAZING. Ive made 4 pages since December and I have a ton I need to do. Can I have some of your mojo?

I received $75 in Michaels giftcards and $50 for Scrapbook.com that I used this month. I went over, but I'm not going to count it. I'm on a spending freeze for the year, EXCEPT for Scrapbook Expo in August.

I haven't spent anything this month. I keep telling myself it's only one month. Plus I haven't been super-crafty lately. Then I went and signed up for a 3 month stash challenge starting February 1st. They are building in flexibility for crops though. I'm looking forward to the motivation of LOAD and Calvinball to get my mojo going. Wheres the stash challenge at?

It's in a Facebook group I belong to. There is a stash thread on the go here, too.

Still hanging in there! Avoided Elle's Studio website/emails yesterday I might have to buy some pens. I could probably put it off until February. What type does everyone like? Are Sharpie pens any good (the pens, not the markers?). I was going through my pens and got rid of a lot that are dried up or not working well anymore. I'm going scrapping this weekend and my sister wants to stop at Hobby Lobby on the way, so I might get some pens then, but nothing else!

Was at Aaron Bros yesterday to look at mats. They had MAMBI planner stuff for buy one, get one 50% off (not a great price, but still tempting). Whew, I passed on the stickers, even though I had to look at every page in every package.

So HSN got me yesterday. I purchased the precision press. I had been anting a stamping tool and this was such a great deal. But I am back to my freeze. Sigh.

I'm still... At this stage, I'm about seven weeks in which makes it a lot easier to not be tempted and to simply avoid the websites that will draw me in. I edited a few January pictures over the past few days but haven't put adhesive to paper yet. Soon, though, soon. My extra money went into savings (I'm doing the 52-week money challenge in reversed order) and experiences so far. We're going to Paris and Vienna this month. Getting to upgrade our hotel room or going to a gourmet restaurant is a far greater pleasure than a bunch of new stuff to me.

I admit that I have opened some crafty emails and looked at some sites, but have not been tempted to buy anything. I think it is because I committed to just a month, and that I have not come across any FOMO items.
There are a couple of stamps sets I want, but since I know they will likely still be there next month, I am holding strong. I might look to being frozen again next month. I am finding it's not really that hard if I talk myself out of it, even if the conversation is just in my head.

My shopping carts are getting full, but things are also being eliminated. There's nothing that can't wait until next month. I'll probably end up making one purchase of a few selective items, then go back in the freezer. The delayed purchasing decisions are causing me to rethink some of the items in my cart, so I'm going to end up spending a lot less by waiting.

I have a few things in my cart at ACOT, but I do that all the time. Then I go back and edit. I won't order anything for a while. Maybe I'll treat myself for my birthday in March, with my Christmas gift card.
I confess to having some pens in my Amazon cart...

Being preoccupied with a big project has definitely helped. I'll be done with that album today, though. We're almost halfway through the month and so far I haven't been tempted by much. I'm sure I can make it through the month.

So far I haven't even been tempted to shop. I did just replace my scrap table so that probably helped my shopping need, but as of right now I just feel the need to use what I have (and I have plenty).

welcome @sfscraper mom - that's a good idea! Maybe 50 layouts? I've done 15 so far this year...

It's hard to pass up something you're sure will get used. It's been easy for me to pass on things I know will just get added to the stash heap.

I haven't bought much this year so far. I think the only things I have bought are Ali Edwards new inks, white cardstock, adhesive and a craft mat. I am redoing my craft room so will be buying some more furniture in the next few weeks. Going through everything I have has helped me not to spend - plus I really don't like most of the new lines coming out.
My goal this year is to just curve my spending in every area so craft stuff is the easiest to start. I am hoping I can keep it up. I am sure I'll have purchases here and there but just trying to minimize.

My KP order arrived and I think the secret to success is being semi-freddo. Order once a month and nothing else. I'm excited to use everything that came in so I'm inspired to copy mom and purge more crap outta my desk drawers.

plus I really don't like most of the new lines coming out. This has made it very easy not to spend. There are a few pieces across all the new lines that I think I'd like but there is nothing I've seen yet that I can't live without.

I'm still doing well Except I did forget that I bought 5 of the TH distress ink tins for my mini cubes. And I'm going to need more. But as far as scrapbook shopping I'm doing really well and I have been avoiding the temptation of Altenew!! I also organized my completed cards this week. I put them all in their own plastic envelop with their paper envelop with them so the family can just grab and go. So all my birthday cards and thank you cards are done. And I was able to see that I need to make more thank you cards and no more birthday cards for a while

Yay everyone! I'm still holding strong for stamping/cardmaking stuff. Which is why I wanted to freeze in the first place. I did go M's yesterday and Aaron Bros today because I signed up for a lettering class and the pens and paper I ordered from Amazon won't arrive until next week and I'd like to start this weekend. But I couldn't find what I needed at M's, and all clerks were busy at AB so I went back to work empty handed. I don't consider consider the lettering class part of my freeze, since it's a class.

I could not pass up that Felicity Jane kit. I feel like both a failure and success. I really didn't want to buy anything this month. And with having about 14 Felicity Jane kits already it seemed to excessive. But I had to have it! However, I haven't spent another penny anywhere else. And I think I can make it through now...

I agree. I figured my FJ subscription in from the beginning. I knew I was going to want it and have no resistance.

@scrappymom - can you grab one of your FJ kits this weekend and use it? If you're using them, then there's less guilt about buying them, right?
