Yesterday I took my scrapbooking stuff to my mom's house and helped her make her first ever layout! She chose 3 sheets of patterned paper I've had in my stash since about 2007. They worked great with her memorabilia and I am so happy to have them go to use! Today, I am going to hook up my Silhouette and start on my card project. Over the years I have totally depleted my stash of pre-made cards so I'm going to try to make a few Christmas, Valentine, Birthday, and everyday cards over the next few weekends to replenish my stock of cards. I'll make all of these cards with things out of my stash. Having your mom start scrapbooking is a wonderful idea! Hopefully you can enjoy it together. Plus you will be motoring through your stash faster than you know it! Keep going!!! The card making is just as important if you give made with love cards. (I cherish the ones I receive). You don't want to run out when you least expect it so good idea to make up a bunch and have them on hand!

I've got one page done. I'm going to take a little time to reorganize my desk, that should help...lol What did you put on the page? Did you stamp it? Stickers? Eyelets? Brads? Ink? You are working at this and are awesome! Keep going!!!

My first plan is thank you cards for Christmas gifts. Then my lofty goal is to make a Christmas card with every holiday themed set I own. I don't have a ton but definitely a few that I have never used. I'm hoping to have plenty of cards to send out to family and friends next Christmas and extras to donate to the caring hearts card drive. Now is the time to get started. January is a slow month. The holiday is over and it's winter. It's time to put on a sweater and get scrapbooking and card making. You will feel like such a success once you get at it. Plus the pile of supplies will decrease! Then you can always buy more if you so wish! It's a win win situation!

I made the title page for the Road Trip 2016 album - no photos but I used cardstock, patterned papers, random stickers from a couple of sets ( K&Co and not sure the others), AC letter stickers...all stash! Didn't use anything up except a couple of scraps but... You don't have to use anything "up" to be a success. The goal is to just "use" the supplies. They can just be an Ancient Ink pad in the drawer that you haven't used in 10 years but need to stamp a bear on something. The point is you ARE using that stash and you can replace at the end of the month if you so wish. You are totally working this challenge! Way to go!

I got a page done yesterday with Bo Bunny papers from 2009! I also used some Stickles and 6x6 papers I've had for a while as well.

All those supplies just waiting to be used and they came together so well! The layering is so awesome but also you used so many sheets of paper. Didn't it feel great to use them? The star wood veneers are adorable. I use mine often and love them. When you see how much you use, it feels so good inside. Sheet after sheet.

Did a page this morning using pp from an older collection, WrMK's "Storybook". There was LOTS of stuff in their kit, and I am nowhere near finishing it off (which is okay, because I foresee other opportunities to use this line about fairy tales and children's books). Anyway, I used 2 complete sheets plus pieces of two others, and some stickers. once upon a time by Gramma Dee, on Flickr

All the projects are turning out so great - I love seeing what everyone is doing! I ended up not getting to play with my supplies at all yet, but I'm hoping to finally get in and start making something today. Everyone is so kind on this thread, but can I just echo Linda...

Paper, ink, a fancy title, the piggy embellishment. You are using your stash and getting value from your supplies. That's all that matters. The hand journaling is a nice touch for sure. Is that a page from a dictionary? Way to multipurpose. You bought these supplies and they deserve to be loved and enjoyed. Does the sound of paper being cut sound amazing? Remember, there will be more beautiful paper on the horizon. Keep going! You are off to an awesome start!!!

I am SO joining in this thread this year!! I haven't created anything YET, but I WILL!!! I've spent WAAAAAY too much time in front of the television and on my phone / computer the past year.
THIS WILL ALL CHANGE NOW!!! (well, this evening, after work, anyway- lol)
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- My sister and I are going to do a monthly pocket letter correspondence, no buying allowed (I'll at least try for no buying, lol)
- I will color something out of one of my coloring books at least once a week (even if it's just for 15 minutes)
- I will do something in one of my art journals at least once a week, even if it's just cutting & pasting ONE piece of paper.
- Right here, right now, in black and white, I am committing to REGULARLY creating and sending cards and small crafty items to my family members, and to my friends. I've gotten really lax about not sending birthday or holiday cards at all, and just sending a birthday e-mail. That's gotta stop!
- Plus, the last few years I've gotten to Christmas-time, thought about making my cards, and haven't followed through. This year, I will design Christmas cards early enough to actually have time to MAKE them.

my 2017 crafty resolutions!! Great resolutions! Don't forget to give yourself some credit when you follow through and give yourself some slack if life gets in the way. Making a commitment to scrap with or for someone else will help a lot. I find that once I start getting crafty, the ideas start flowing...

"curing in my stash..." is a perfect phrase!! I have to remember that one!
-- So then my supplies aren't all languishing unused, they're just marinating until my ideas are ready for them!! LOL!

Finished a two pager, starting with the sketch in the SCT 365 class, and using some cs from my stash and a bunch of my newish Christmas supplies, as well as some that have been "marinating" for awhile. 2 sheets cs, 3 sheets pp, some diecut snowflakes, and a bunch of bits and pieces, including a wood veneer piece: Snow is falling by Gramma Dee, on Flickr

A couple of hockey pages today. Used up 3 sheets of old pp and a bunch of scraps. Also used some flares I picked up this fall. Used some Nuvo drops and Thickers for the titles, and some word/phrase stickers also found their way onto these pages. My hockey stash is depleting, and since I will probably be scrapping a few hockey pages, I may need to replenish when I find pp and especially embellies I can use. Love all the layouts grammadee! Your grandkids are adorable! The circle hockey layout has to be my favorite this time. You are really getting the layouts done...hopefully you are all healed! I completed another 6x8 page in my December Documented...eight total. I've been really clustering up the embellishments and journaling spots. Someone on the message board said that when you are layering the embellishments that not everything needs to be seen, but some things could just peek out of the cluster. I really took that to heart and I love the advice...wish I could give the poster credit for her great tip!

If you run out you can always get more or if you are like me you are prepared for the end of days with the amount of glue you own. (Glue=adhesive of choice) Just awesome!!! Keep going you're doing great!

I love clustering embellishments and wish i were better at it. I love little bit of this and that on a layout. That really draws my attention (besides the photos). Way to good! As long as you are using those supplies you are getting value. While DD is still fresh in your mind I think it's the best time to put it together. You are doing wonderfully well! Keep going!

I put together a couple of pages this morning. Most of the supplies are not that old of a stash, but I purchased a bunch of fall and thanksgiving themed papers and collections in September, and then didn't get into them. For these two pages, I used 2 sheets of cs, most of 2 sheets of pp. I also pulled out a big roll of jute twine I have had for at least a year, and used a big hunk of that (though by the size of the ball, I could probably make about 100 pages like this and still have some left. Also used an old tool, but not quite the way it was intended: used my EK Success Curvy Cutter to place the twine circle. Put the big circle of the cutter on the front of the page and punched 4 holes with a needle; then turned the page over, used those holes to place the circle on the back and used it as a template to draw a circle. Used that as a guide to stitch the twine in place. Oh brother! by Gramma Dee, on Flickr Oh brother! 2 by Gramma Dee, on Flickr

Look at the material you have to work with, though. (I am partial to little boys having had one myself). All that paper and supplies. You used your "good pen" to journal. I suspect you are going to need to restock at the end of the month. A $6 ball of jute is priceless. I have used it oodles of times and not once in the garden. You are doing so well with this challenge. Sheet after sheet of paper. Embellishments and more! Way to go!

grammadee - you are on a roll - great pages - I really love the circle on the hockey page! Delta Dawn - sorry you had a not-good day - hope today is a better one. iheartpaper - well done! I love the look of clusters but can't make them work for me as for me...just completed another layout for my road trip album - 2-pages - used some DCWV paper that's been in my stash for a couple of years, some 3-D stickers, cardstock...and then I made 4 cards with the scraps - added some more scraps, used my QK (a heart die and an embossing folder I've never touched before), my new-ish circle punch that I just had to have but don't use much... and a sentiment stamp. So no scraps back INTO the scrap folders which is a win for me!

one more 2-page layout complete for the road trip album - used mainly cardstock but added some patterned paper scraps, chipboard alphas, and a fussy cut arrow from a patterned paper scrap. Then I made a card with the scraps of scraps and cardstock and a sentiment stamp.
