Finished 2 more pages today. Didn't use a lot of stash except for 3 sheets of cs and a couple of doilies. I DID get to use a bunch of inks and paints (even though I ended up covering up most of my artwork with photos). Tried a couple of artsy techniques I enjoyed playing with and will probably use again.

Have you ever diecut some of the art you've done? One day I diecut hearts, words, etc out of the water color paper we wiped our brushes on before washing them. It made really pretty diecuts and they were of a nice thickness because of the paper we used. DD17 also painted me these sweet flowers and I fussy cut them. I don't get too messy in scrapbooking, so it made me feel like I had some kind of mixed media in my albums.

Since I have such a hard time throwing anything away, I keep every last bit of painted background. Then if I diecut it, I would probably want to save the negative--what if I need that shape for a stencil?--and on it goes...

I just got an email about Vicki Boutin's new line. In the header next to her name there were two watercolor butterflies. What an easy one to diy grammadee with a butterfly die and your painted papers! I told DD19 that we need to make some tomorrow while she's painting a cow for my sister.

You know I haven't put away any of the painted papers yet!

The butterflies are right next to her name (in brush script)at the top of the page. When I was looking for other links, I saw some cute clouds that could be die cut with aqua painted paper. www.acherryontop.com/shop/company/american_crafts/line/vicki_boutin

I've been working on my Dec daily album and have given myself permission to use all the pretty things. I finished it up tonight so decided to do a check of all the things I used up in the process:
1/2 pack of MME 3x4 Christmas themed cards all the gold foil printed tiny Prima flowers in my stash equivalent of nearly 3 packs of enamel dots roughly half of each of 5 different unused before this project alphas. One of these has only a couple of useful words left and one is an alpha I thought I'd never use roughly one full roll of double sided tape one roll of washi finished and another that has about one layout worth left on it (although I'll be sad to see the second roll finished as it's my favourite tape)
There was only one full sheet of paper from my kit that I didn't cut into but I did add a couple of extra papers which I used instead. Other than the 3x4 cards almost nothing has gone back into my stash.

WTG Karen on finishing your DD! I struggle with the leftovers after I finish a product because I can't throw out bits and pieces, but it's harder to store/organize and use those bits after you've successfully used them extensively in a project.
Liking some of vicki B' line. Do you think it's affiliated with AC?

finished the layout that's been on my desk for a couple of days...last layout of day one in my Road Trip album.
2 pages - used some well-cured DCWV patterned paper, cardstock, a clear quote from Serendipity Stamps (c. 2003), QK dies (Ginger alpha and star doodads)

I finished a 2 pager today for the January Stash Challenge and will link it there once I have a photo taken and uploaded. Used 2 sheets of cs, 2 sheets of pp, some stickers and diecuts and journaling cards, as well as some ink and Nuvo crystal drops. Used a MS border punch I haven't used in over a year. Used a piece of scrap from an earlier page in the punch, but still have some left, so back into the scrap bin it goes!

another layout done for my Road Trip album to start day two...
2-page layout -patterned paper from DCWV Boyhood stack (which I just had to have but have barely used); cardstock...this ended up being a photo-heavy layout so not much space for embellishing

I took a dive into my 6x6 pads. I've done seven layouts layouts and used 41 sheets of 6x6 paper! That's not counting the offcuts from the 2x6 strips I have left over from other projects. I'm also using Stickles. I seem to have every color. I am using them like I would enamel dots.

You are all doing so well! Doesn't it feel great to be using up that stash and those old stamps or inks or buttons you have had for eons? Once they are gone, they are gone and you can buy new if you want. (Hopefully next month LOL) but getting rid of the old is such a rewarding feeling. Even if you do 2 layouts this month it's still getting rid of old stuff you have been hanging onto forever waiting for that "special layout" and not using. Once you have used that "special" paper or those beautiful stamps, they are at least used once, right? Keep going and keep sharing your successes!

I finally completed three half finished layouts this weekend & it's feel great to finally finish them. One needed some flowers fussy cutting & adding, one needed the journaling & one just needed a title.
Off to my regular scrapbook crop this Saturday & am planing on making up kits to take with me using up all those odd papers & embellishments I have lying around.

I have several logbooks for my letterboxing hobby and I like to turn them into scrapbooks with photos and memorabilia and handwritten field notes.
I found a 6x6 pad of patterned paper I've never used. Its monthly designs? Has papers that are designed around the months of the year. I broke that baby out!
Logbook #2 is almost done and I'm having FUN doing it. No perfection, no worry about my love of paper tearing and inking. Just doing what I want!

All the projects are turning out so great - I love seeing what everyone is doing! I ended up not getting to play with my supplies at all yet, but I'm hoping to finally get in and start making something today. Everyone is so kind on this thread, but can I just echo Linda... This is beautiful. I love those papers!

I made six birthday cards today, three of each design. I used cardstock, patterned paper, stamps, ink, banner dies and an embossing folder.
I made four thank you cards last week using cardstock, stamps, ink, an embossing folder and a metal background die.

oooooh, I like this thread. I am also on a no buy/ use what I have personal challenge.
This weekend I did 4 - 2page layouts. For 3 used past kits from a sub. Kits that included Illustrated Faith, Pink Paislee. Looking forward to the day that I can break them apart...I usually do that when there is only a couple of sheets left.
The 4th, used old embellies that have been stored for quite a while. you know, the stuff that you keep on the shelves away from your desk?? Always good to break into those.

Would like to see or hear more about your latest logbook. That month by month pad sounds interesting. I keep thinking I will do a roundup page for each month for my regular scrapbooks (I already do a page each month for NEXT year's family calendar, but nothing calendarwise in my albums.)

Did a page this morning using pp from an older collection, WrMK's "Storybook". There was LOTS of stuff in their kit, and I am nowhere near finishing it off (which is okay, because I foresee other opportunities to use this line about fairy tales and children's books). Anyway, I used 2 complete sheets plus pieces of two others, and some stickers. once upon a time by Gramma Dee, on Flickr I love this! Love the book page you used. Save

I love this! Love the book page you used. SaveThanks! The "book page" was actually a 6x6 cutaway that was part of one page in this WrMK line.

I put together a couple of pages this morning. Most of the supplies are not that old of a stash, but I purchased a bunch of fall and thanksgiving themed papers and collections in September, and then didn't get into them. For these two pages, I used 2 sheets of cs, most of 2 sheets of pp. I also pulled out a big roll of jute twine I have had for at least a year, and used a big hunk of that (though by the size of the ball, I could probably make about 100 pages like this and still have some left. Also used an old tool, but not quite the way it was intended: used my EK Success Curvy Cutter to place the twine circle. Put the big circle of the cutter on the front of the page and punched 4 holes with a needle; then turned the page over, used those holes to place the circle on the back and used it as a template to draw a circle. Used that as a guide to stitch the twine in place. Oh brother! by Gramma Dee, on Flickr Oh brother! 2 by Gramma Dee, on Flickr love these layouts, especially the twine. I have a ton but always put it off wondering how I will stick it nicely to the layout. Stitching it is a great idea

^^^ I need to do this, too! One of my resolutions is to send more snail mail- random cards / crafty gifts, as well as birthday cards- to people this year. I've gotten horribly lazy with that and have actually sent birthday greetings via e-mail to my siblings in the past year. (not an e-mail card, mind you, just a regular e-mail ). And, I need to make / send thank-you cards for Christmas gifts.

love these layouts, especially the twine. I have a ton but always put it off wondering how I will stick it nicely to the layout. Stitching it is a great idea Thanks! I keep that giant ball of twine on my scrap counter, so when I am looking around frantically for "one last thing" to finish off a page, my eyes sometimes light on that. I am scrapping about a bunch of dgs's and one ds's family that is pretty western in their lifestyle, so lots of opportunity. I have also used liquid glue to attach the twine, or punch a hole in the page, string the twine through and do my loop or whatever, then tie off and tape it at the back. Then it stays in one place, and you can glue it into a shape with liquid glue, and clip it to hold it until the glue dries. I have also looped twine through a hole in a tag, then taped the tag down to the page. Or cut a couple of notches in a tag or a photo matt, then wrap the twine through those notches a few times and tie it off somewhere under or around the photo on the mat or sentiment on the tag.
