I got one page done today. Used a sheet and a half of cs, half a sheet of pp, and a large cb self stick piece from one of my BG kits. The original piece was pink, and I needed it to be green, so I painted it before sticking it onto the page. Also used some enamel dots (actually finished off a couple of rows of particular colours).

This has been a fun thread to lurk on. I haven't scrapped in over 6 months. I've picked up a few things at Tuesday Mornings, but I really haven't bought stuff in over 6 months. I've never gone that long! Anyway I finished 4 pages that were sports portraits-not my favorite type of photos to scrap. They are all very similar in style, but so impressed at the older papers I used (I used to know the names once upon a time ) It's been so long since I've seen these papers-they seemed new again to me:-)

What a great way to dive back in finaledition! I really love when I'm able to use something from my stash that's been there for awhile.

I am still trying to complete my Christmas thank-you cards. Here are 3. I used bits from the GB December Memories kit, FP Winter Wishes and Carta Bella Christmas Delivery collections. Hopefully going to get the rest done today.

Finished my facing page today for the one I did yesterday. Lots of older product here: mostly Basic Grey, but also some HOTP and Bazzill, as well as some enamel dots and an old Fiskar's border punch: Berry Love by Gramma Dee, on Flickr berry love 2 by Gramma Dee, on Flickr And even got to use some of my art supplies: needed to paint a pink branch green, so out came the paints!

I finished 2 layouts today and started a 3rd. I have all the elements placed, but want to do some heat embossed snowflakes first. Been using my November Hip Kit, but did go deep into my stash for the snowflake stamps.

I've got one page done. I'm going to take a little time to reorganize my desk, that should help...lol What did you put on the page? Did you stamp it? Stickers? Eyelets? Brads? Ink? You are working at this and are awesome! Keep going!!! Stickers, old paper scraps and ink and some old Journaling tags. I love mixing old and new

Way to go mamakoala ! It would take me at least a month to create that many pages! Well it helps that I have completely and utterly let go of perfectionism!! That's a BIG change from the way I used to scrap. Used to take me at least a week to complete a layout: I would of course spend time choosing the photos and the cardstock. Then I'd have to go through my massive stash to find appropriate pp, then i'd spend a few days laying out the photos and choosing which ones to use and then maybe photo editing and reprinting some, maybe inserting words directly on the image...maybe a flourish or two on the edge to make it look arty...then I'd choose embellies (primas? buttons? Chipboard? metal hinges LOLOL), maybe do some sewing (by hand, but of course) and then use my silhouette to cut the title...of course I would need to try 20 different fonts first and decided which one 'fit the mood' appropriately...then I would cut it out...that woudl take a while because inevitably i would choose some super thin, super hard to cut font... Yes, I'm glad that's over. LOLOL.

You know, mamakoala, I still catch myself doing that on some pages, and that is an experience by itself. I think it brings out the most artistic part of my left brain AND the most critical part of my RIGHT brain, and the result may be okay--or even beautiful--in the end, but the process is often a headache. But for most pages, I focus on telling the story and then whatever playing around I do with photos and supplies all seems to come together fairly quickly, and it all seems to be a lot more fun.

This is so me! I worked at a scrapbook store for about 9 years. So I had an entire store at my disposal daily to find THE PERFECT embellishment, patterned paper, cardstock, Thicker, etc to go with my photos. And of course I got them all at a discount! Because I also designed many classes and designed and ran our kit club I wound up treating my own personal pages like those pages. They had to be perfect! I'd often spend hours each night after work using fonts and clip art images and Photoshop together with Sure Cuts a Lot to make my own perfect titles and embellishments. I had fun and really enjoy looking back on the pages. But all good things must come to an end. When the store closed I had a very hard time scrapping. I had a massive stash but I could no longer run over and get that PERFECT shade of cardstock or another sheet of a specific pattern of paper. I had to make do with what I had on hand and that was very different from what I was used to. I fell into a funk and while I still scrapped I was just never really very pleased with the pages. They were ok, but not works of art like my old ones were. I've just barely gotten to a point where I am ok with that. My pages are not perfectly coordinated, my photos are printed standard sizes (I ran the photo lab at the shop and could print whatever size/color I wanted so easily) on glossy paper (ick). But I still enjoy looking at them when I flip through my albums and that's all that matters. Today I started with this: And created three pages. I even killed a pack of rub ons! I never actually use up any embellishment packs so that was big fun to actually realize that something from my stash is now gone and living happily in use on pages. It's pretty satisfying to go to my stash and find good things to use with my pictures that while not perfect, I'm pretty happy with in the end. And it didn't cost me anything at all! Here are the pages I created today. Please excuse the horrible photo quality, my cell is not a good camera! While writing this post I realized the oldest item I used today was from a sticker pack I purchased in 2007.

tinaev (don't know how to link your name) those are beautiful!!! I learned something looking back on my layouts with my sons--the photos and memories are more important than anything--and DATES!! don't forget dates. And enjoying the process without obsessing over perfection is my new rule

When i am done using up the SG kits that I hadn't opened (there are 5 total) I will resub to a kit club, probably SG or Scrap Room because they have sketches. The only thing I plan on buying outside of the kit are some letter stickers. I am indulging myself a bit with my new hobby of card making, but scrapbooking will stay simple.

Good job, chaosisapony, turning that kit into those pages! I like how you used the extra elements, like the wood veneer and the enamel dots and the ribbon. You really made them work with the overall feel of each page. Glad you are enjoying your foray back into scrapbooking, mamakoala. BTW, to tag someone, you just have to type @ in front of their screen name.

chaosisapony your pages are lovely! I can see they all have the same big block, little block, strip to separate starting point but the finished pages look so different I didn't notice it on first glance. I love the colours on your cat nap page (and you have a clever cat!).

I finished up my first two pocket letters last night (about 11:30, but... still yesterday!) They're both going in the mail today for my swap partners. I hope to get back to some scrapbook pages this weekend.
eta: the pocket letters were all done with stash stuff, except for the baseball card protectors; I had to go out and buy those, lol. I used up a lot of small scraps, bits, and doodads, and included some goodies in the envelopes for my swap partners. I even broke out my typewriter for one of them! (public service announcement: typing on vellum can cause smearing...)

I used up some more materials from my stash today. Although all my winter goodies are on top of my counters, I needed to go stash diving to scrap my dgd's swim club photos from November/December. Spent a lot of time sifting through the SUMMER drawer with all the swimming pp and icons to look for a LYB cb swimsuit I am SURE I own, but couldn't find it. Had to sub in a much newer diecut from last year (I think). Used some of the pp I found in that drawer. Hit my cs stash as well, so getting these pages finished is win/win. swim team by Gramma Dee, on Flickr swim team 2 by Gramma Dee, on Flickr

And you are on a ROLL!! Very inspiring. (I'm jealous, too, lol!)

I used some Dear Lizzy Lucky Charm for a two page layout yesterday. I googled to find out how old it is was surprised that it's already four years old. I used a SG sketch and it came together quickly. I'm so happy with it. When I realize how tiny of a dent one layout puts into my stash it helps me realize that being frozen and using my stash is a very good idea.

Thank you ladies. You are all so inspiring. I am loving everything I see and how excited everyone is about what they are creating and using up!
Can some one tell me how to make it so the name of the person you are talking to tags them - like in the post crimson cat made tagging grammadee?

But hover over their name because it may be different than what we see as their username. Use what you see when you hover over their name. So like this @ grammadee but without the space between.
