With all the overwhelming negatives being said about Donald Trump, I just read something very nice about him. I live in the Buffalo, NY area and Jim Kelly (former star quarterback for the Bills) is a living legend in this part of the country. Jim has survived two serious bouts with cancer and I follow his wife's very uplifting blog about nearly losing her husband two times and how faith brought her through. It seems that Jim was on Varney & Co. this week and said that Donald Trump had taken care of his whole family while he was going through cancer treatments. Here's the article:
"With the Super Bowl just over a week away, Pro Football Hall of Fame quarterback Jim Kelly joined "Varney & Co." Wednesday. When Stuart Varney asked if he was a Donald Trump supporter, Kelly, who spent 11 seasons with the Buffalo Bills, recalled how Trump helped his family during his battle with cancer.
"When I was going through my cancer fight...he provided my family and friends with a place to stay, his apartments. He took care of my whole family," Kelly said of Trump.
The two met when Trump was the owner of the New Jersey Generals of the United States Football League. Kelly played for the Houston Gamblers, which were purchased by the Generals following the 1985 season. The 1986 season however was never played. Kelly said that everyone is entitled to their personal opinions on Trump but he will always be grateful for the president for helping him through tough times. "We all make mistakes and I'm sure he's made a few, but I'm happy for him," said Kelly, who survived two bouts of cancer in his lifetime."
UPDATE OK, you guys are a tough crowd. I decided to go and see if I could find any other stories of something nice Trump has done that was done for someone not rich. I found quite a number of generous things he has done, but here are three which touched me (Remember, I DI NOT vote for Trump and am as worried as some of the rest of you about certain things he has done. But I am going to give him a chance. Here are the stories: *Three-year-old Andrew Ten (little Jewish boy) needed to go to New York to receive some special medical attention. But there was one big problem: The airlines refused to board him because Ten required several different pieces of medical equipment on the flight. Ten's parents put in a call to Trump, who then dispatched his private jet to meet their pressing needs.
*In 1986, Annabell Hill was in danger of losing her family farm. On top of that, her husband had just committed suicide hoping that his life insurance policy would cover the remaining balance that they owed. When Trump saw her tragic story, he decided to do something about it. According to the New York Times: Donald Trump, the New York real estate tycoon, helped prevent foreclosure today on a family farm whose owner had committed suicide to try to save his land.
*Darnell Barton (a black bus driver) was driving his bus across a bridge when he spotted a woman on the other side of railing, staring down at the traffic below. Barton stopped the bus and approached the woman. After one of his passengers explained they didn't want to “see someone die,” he managed to put his arm around her and she agreed to come to the other side of the bridge. After hearing about what Barton did, The Donald sent him ten thousand dollars. Trump said: "I thought that was so beautiful to see. I think he is a great guy with an amazing heart and I said that man should be rewarded.

Nice. Let me think. It will be nice when he's no longer president. So nice.

It would be nice if he would treat the people in Mississippi who have had horrific tornadoes this week with as much care and respect instead of ignoring the pleas of help from their Governor.

That was a lovely story, however I think he has a way to go before the debits and credits balance.

It was very nice that he let a fellow wealthy man's family stay in his apartments.
I would love to see him offer such grace and generosity to those who are not financially equal to him, and whose famous name could not bolster him to the media.

So he took care of somebody rich while they were sick, but is moving to Takeaway healthcare for millions of people who don't have the same kind of funds.
Nice

Yeah nice.
"Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump, under increasing scorn for his comments claiming Senator John McCain isn’t a war hero is now under fire from Buffalonians for his comments claiming former Buffalo Bills quarterback Jim Kelly doesn’t deserve to be in the Pro Football Hall of Fame because he never won a Super Bowl.
Said the “super billionaire“:
Heroes in sports are even more of a sham. Take football. Jim Kelly is in the Pro Football Hall of Fame?! He’s not a Hall-of-Famer. He lost four Super Bowls! I like my football heroes to be winners, not big time chokers.
How many of the Bills are in the Hall? Bruce Smith? Thurman Thomas? They all couldn’t close the deal. Let me tell you, I know how to close the deal. These schmucks couldn’t. I would make the best ever coach. One hundred percent better than that schlub Marv Levy. Guaranteed.
Mr. Trump, when pressed if there was any Buffalo Bill he did like, elaborated:
"You know, O.J. Simpson was a class act. Attractive man, skilled athlete who turned his brand into a successful pitchman and later acting career, and even an author. He was a master of all media, just like I am. What ever happened to that guy?" "

ETA: found it. Yes, satire.

While yes, that is a nice story, what about all the people dealing with cancer who are not star quarterbacks and do not have access to lots of money? What would be nicer is helping out the millions of American's who are about to lose their insurance coverage. I'm sorry but all I read was one very rich man helping out another very rich man.

You really should check first. According the the FEMA website 1.5million had already been approved as of Jan 15th.

snowsilverI live in the Buffalo area (hoping for a nice snow storm this weekend!) also and know Jim and his family personally. To those thinking they are "rich", yeah ok. He didn't make the millions that QBs now make. I knew all about DT helping out with housing etc. BUT I still can't stand him. Did he do some very kind things for the Kelly family?? He sure as hell did. He arranged a lot of things that Jim didn't even mention in that interview. Maybe DT needs to go find that kindness in his heart again--yeah that won't happen.
