I'm in the "tastes like soap" category... I've tried several times but just don't like the stuff. I generally omit it or use waaay less than called for.

In moderation, but not dumped into everything in obscene amounts like often happens.

My family loves it, including our guinea pigs. They lose it the second they smell it, and popcorn all over their habitat while eating it. We call it cavy crack.

Hate it! If a recipe calls for it I will either omit it entirely or use an extremely small amount.

IMHO it's tasteless. It's tolerable as an inconsequential spice/garnish in tex-/mexican dishes, but I don't purposely include/add it (eg burritos, tacos).

LOVE cilantro in this house. The first time I had something with cilantro in it, I asked "what is the thing in it that tastes like flowers?" Not that I had ever even tasted flowers. That is just what came to mind.

I like it a lot and think certain recipes simply are tasteless without it being added.

Nope! Doesn't taste like soap to me... more of a dirt and garbage mixture. That's the only way I can describe the flavor. Can't stand the smell, but my husband loves it, so there's usually some hanging around our house.

Love it. In fact, I bought two bunches of it today for .99. I'm gong to put some in my salad tomorrow for lunch. Yum. Dd2 is a super taster and hates it - says it tastes like soap.

Love it over here. I use it in Thai and Mexican dishes. My family hasn't complained. I have heard that some people think it tastes like soap.

I don't love or hate it. I like to use it in certain recipes such as Thai or Indian but I don't like heaps of it piled on my plate.

The most gag worthy, vile and disgusting taste on earth and tasting like soap would be a compliment. Don't like any herbs including basil, parsley, oregano and the rest. Can smell them a mile away and to me they just ruin food. D/H feels he can sneak or cook down these evil ingredients but I smell or taste them and cannot eat the food.
