Although it may not happen, it seems like a big snowstorm is coming to the east coast Monday night into Tuesday. I love to cook when I'm home with a snowstorm. I'm thinking homemade chocolate chip cookies and also some Irish Soda bread. I'm looking for a main course recipe that is good in cold weather. I have a killer beef stew recipe but want some more options. What will you be cooking while it snows? I want to get to the store before Monday when it will probably be jammed packed.

Tomato soup and grilled cheese sandwiches.
Snow storms usually warrant soup in my universe.

Well I'll actually have to be cliche tomorrow as I do not have bread or milk lol.
Maybe I'll make some belated hamentashen since I cheated and got store bought ones for today.
Soup also sounds good

I heard there is the possibility of a Nor'easter here Tuesday and Wednesday but they don't seem to know for sure yet.

I never plan for snow because it never snows! But we are in Pgh., so it's not going to be in our area. But my daughter is in college near DC, so she may get some!

We've in a week of-30C/-22F windchill in Alberta. Yesterday we had to spend the day in the city all day in the swirling blowing snow, my daughter had her braces off at 8am and then had to stay the day and go back to get her retainer fitted. It was lovely Oh well, the end is near. Can't have too many more cold snaps. Stay safe east coast ladies.

I'm in Northeast Pa here and everyone is talking about it...I never pay attention to stuff like that so I have no idea what I'm making.

Stay safe, and enjoy! I'd be thrilled for a just bit of snow here on the North Wales coast, let alone a 'Snowmageddon'. The kid must love it.

I'll be at the mercy of whatever the hospital serves us if we get hit with this snow. I seriously doubt we will get snowed in since we've all been in shorts the past 2-3 weeks. Today is the beginning of our Spring Break, too so well played, Mother Nature. Well played.
I am the closest living employee to the hospital so I'm expected to come in every single time it snows since I "can walk" according to my employers. ::eye roll:: I walked in once when we had a huge storm so I guess it is a level of expectation now. Whatever. I have learned to pick my battles and will just file that away for the next time I need a favor.
Seriously tho....I almost always have stuff for a big batch or two of taco soup on hand so that is what we usually make. We have a lot of beef in the freezer and can usually fire up the Big Green Egg and can make whatever we want. I love it when we do this for some reason. I think I just like being outside when it snows and this makes me feel productive or something.

No snow quite here in Atlanta, but about an hour away in the mountains. Tomorrow is my and DH 24th anniversary. March 12, 1993 the blizzard where we got 24 inches of snow was our wedding day. May have to take a drive tomorrow just to see some snow!

I'm planning to cook a couple of things tomorrow that I can have for lunches and dinners during the coming week. I'll probably throw some boneless chicken breasts in the crockpot with salsa verde, cook all day, and then shred for burrito bowls or enchiladas. I might also make giambotta (an Italian stew) - I haven't made it in ages and I've been craving it.
My company never ever closes due to the weather, so if we get hit hard I'll be too miserable after driving home from work to want to cook!

The news just updated the forecast. It has gone from the possibility of a nor'easter with rain and snow on Tuesday and Wednesday to a blizzard watch starting Monday night with anywhere from 1 to 2+ feet by Wednesday morning. Unless of course it all goes further east and we get less snow. They have no clue so no matter what the weather report is before Monday afternoon, I am going to plan on getting a loaf of Italian bread and a bottle of wine and making a big pot of Panera copycat chicken noodle soup.

We may get one whole inch of snow, but knowing our local weather guys that have a big tendency to exaggerate… We will probably get zilch.
In any event, I have been trying to get around to making French onion soup in my cheapy version of an instant pot. I was going to make it the other day and realized I didn't have any onions. Then I planned on making it today but until I discovered I didn't have any beef broth. Tonight I am going to go through all the ingredients and set them all out and make sure I have everything or there will be no soup for us.

My weather app says 3-6 inches. DH will be out of town, so it'll just be me and the animals. I'll probably make some chicken & rice soup. I kind of hope it's bad enough that I have to hole up at home.

I made a lot of soup during our Snowmagedon in January. My favorite is a cheesy bacon potato chowder.
Good luck! I hope it's not as bad as they are predicting and it melts at a safe rate.

Sausage and peppers rigatoni. I was already planning to make it so the timing is perfect.

I decided on corned beef & cabbage! Just went food shopping tonight. And yes I know St. Patrick's Day is Friday but I am not entirely sold that we will eat meat on that Lent Friday so I wanted to try my hand at making it to guarantee this delicious meal. My 8 year old and I may make Irish Soda Bread to go with it.

We are getting 12 to 18 inches they say and I will have to get to the grocery store since I seriously have nothing to eat in the house. I have no idea what I will make. Maybe chicken noodle soup.

My kids are already making plans for no school. I've got to buy some groceries. Pretty much the only things we have are ice cream cake, cereal and waffles.
This snowfall is going to completely kill my daffodils. Some are already frostbitten from that day we had this last week that was in the single digits, just days after the 70+ degree weather earlier in the week.

I'm SO jealous of anyone getting snow !!! (but for those of you who hate it and/or HAVE to get to work or somewhere else, I know it is scary and not fun !!!) Ohhh, how I LOVE being cozy at home and cooking / baking during a snow storm.....not to mention, looking at and walking in all the beautiful snow! We only had ONE snow this year, back in December, and I doubt we'll get any more mcscrapper---Ugh, I remember those days---sliding off the highway to get to work---Soooo scary! They said IF needed, the CEO himself would come and get us and bring us to and from work---OR, they'd pay for a cab. As if those options were any safer than us driving ourselves! I am also VERY entertained by these snow memes......SO true! The last time we had a prediction of a SMALL storm, people at the store were going CRAZY!!!!!!! Then, it didn't even snow at all

I'm excited! Lol!!! I'm off for a few extra days this week, to gear up for a long, arduous work schedule starting next week.
The snow is supposed to hit in the start of my extra days off.
I see lots of reading, art making, and family time!
I live in a very wooded area, so it should also be gorgeous!
Whoot woot!

Most likely will be working but I plan to make mac and cheese in the pressure cooker-- nice comfort food!!! I am off Thursday thru Monday so it would make me very happy if we closed on Wednesday! I have yet to pack for a crop- and I am leaving Thursday.
