Blisters.
And pain.
I saw a good doctor, I'm on antivirals. But gah!
Doc says, "You are kinda young for shingles. We usually see this in older or immune-compromised patients. Are you under a lot of stress?"
Bingo, Doc. Bingo.
Thanks for hearing me whine.

Based on how my dh felt when he had them (around the age of 40), you have my permission to whine all you want. They are incredibly painful, but the antivirals help tremendously. DH had them on the back of his head, right at the hairline.

Had them in my 40’s. Got the shingles vaccine a few months ago. I'd rather not ever have them again.

I had them 2 1/2 years ago. It wasn't the rash that was so bad (I caught it early because I knew what it might be). It was the drag ass, hit by a bus feeling I remember. I was SO exhausted. Literally worn out. You have my sympathy.

my son had them earlier this school year at the age of 16. I was out of town when they started and we assumed it was some infection from the pool or the mats around the pool so didn't get him to the doctor right away. I returned home and saw the rash and knew it was something else. By the time we saw the pediatrician it was too late for anti-vitals. Poor kid had to suffer on through.

i feel for you. i got them 3 days before we went to disney when i was 43 in 2014. it was a pretty mild case but i caught it too late for antiviral meds.
worst spot was my underarm/that tendon in front of the armpit. it still drives me crazy by times and i often feel like an ape, scratch, scratch, scratching my armpit.
hope you are feeling better soon.

I had them last year at age 45. It's an awful disease and unfortunately I was too young for the vaccine to prevent it. Mine ran the length of the inside of my right arm, from armpit to wrist. Something that helped the pain temporarily was cool compresses with soft velour type face towels.

Getting the shingles shot does not prevent shingles - it (supposedly) just reduces the severity. My Mom had the shot and has been suffering with them since 2 weeks before Christmas. And if this is "less severe", I would hate to see severe.

Ugh, I'm sorry. I had them a couple of years ago--on my butt! That made sitting super fun. I was about 40 and, fortunately, it was a mild case.

Whine all you want...you are entitled! My friend got them a few years ago. I know she was in misery. I need to check out the vaccine as I'm 53. I don't want to get them! Hope you get better fast!

I have had them twice in the last four years and I am only 48 years old! Stress is a big factor for shingles. Thankfully, both times we caught it before I actually broke out in blisters. I get my pain on my face and it feels like a sinus infection so I went to the doctor expecting a sinus infections remedy and left with anti-virals.
Shingles are so painful.....you whine all you want to. Nobody here will accuse you of being a baby!

Whine away. Just starting week 7 of shingles myself, living on pain meds. I have them along the bra line front to back. The rash is almost gone but the pain has always been more inside. My right arm just aches like the muscles in the back can't hold it up.
Hope yours goes away quickly. This is not fun.
