btw I've forgotten how to add photos here if they're not hosted somewhere online. Can I just paste in a small image? I want to show you how little was left over from my paper pad and die cut pack after making 25 cards. If you are working with a PC it is easy. I am not sure how to do this from a phone. I email my pic's from my phone to myself and then save the images on my desktop before starting this process. Just click on the REPLY button top right of the message pane--not the Quick Reply button at the bottom-- (or the Edit button if you want to include the pic in your original message. You will get an Add Attachment button at the top right of the message pane. Click on it, and it will invite you to add up to 3 attachments. You then select photos from your files, click Done (I think) at the bottom of the pop up screen, and you are good to go. Don't worry if you don't see the attachments when you are still in the open message pane. They will show up when you hit Create Post or Save Changes.

It was Christmas in July at my house last night. DD thinks I've lost my mind. The Hallmark Christmas movie was a little over the top. She suspiciously looked at me and said, "this is something your message board people are doing isn't it?" Busted... joblackford, you inspired me to tackle a 6x6 Pebbles pad. I'm excited for the challenge. I luckily came across a pack of green orange peel Bazill at TM that is a perfect Christmas green. I will use the heck out of it. Keep up the good work, Christmas elves!

I was going to scrap during my hubby's second job tomorrow night and through the weekend playing Christmas music...but now I might have to binge listen to Linkin Park instead.

Well, wouldn't you know it, the next email I get after "your items have shipped" was "you've made the nice list - 20% off all Xmas in July supplies" " class="smile"] I guess procrastination would have paid off... Oh, I hate it when that happens Thank you to canadianscrappergirl and scrapaddict702 for the idea of one sheet wonder. I liked one so much from the video, using Stampin' Up supplies I made my own versions yesterday. Fiddling with fonts for the sentiment took the most time...

lovely cards JaneBNo Christmas stuff done at all this month - I did make some cards the past two days....18 masculine cards (5x7 - I used most of a 25-pk of pocket cards I picked up at HL for $1.50 on clearance for these - simple but perfect to send to DS) and then 15 simple notecards from scraps. Leaving on our road trip in less than an hour so I'm done scrapping for the next two weeks - taking lots of pictures instead

Ah, there's that "add attachment" button! Thank you grammadee Here are the first few cards I made and the piles of scraps left over from a 6x6 pad + one very generous pack of die cuts when I was done making 25 cards. I throw away the teeny tiny bits of paper as I go, but I'm amazed how little waste there is. I'll go back and add more embellishment to the cards later. They're ridiculously cute - not everybody's cup of tea, I'm sure. But the Santas in vehicles theme just made me smile. BTW the hearts on the helicopter rotor was because the die cut came with one blade torn off! The piece was completely missing. So I cut a piece of card out the right shape, used green marker to draw on the rotor, and covered it over with the hearts. Hopefully no one will be able to tell. I will continue making more - I just got my shipment of new supplies (they screwed me with the sale timing, but at least they shipped super fast). ETA pictures removed to save space on the boards

With any luck, I'll wrap up my project by tomorrow night. I have somewhere in the low teens of pages to go (but a few are 2x2 only or 2x2 heavy which I embellish less) and my room needs some serious love. The fact that I have piles that have been sitting for months is bugging me. A new (as of last summer sometime) Alex unit I got to keep works in progress spread out ended up being where I threw warehouse boxes and things that no longer fit in their home...so I'm going to spread out my collection storage to make room for those items and perhaps weed out some of the things I know I probably won't use (or have more than enough duplicates of) and then figure out what will work best in that Alex unit. One plan that I hope to tackle is one of my Raskogs. It has held the supplies I pulled for my DD album since Christmas season of 2015. When I finish it, I'm thinking of turning the top into mixed media storage and at least one (maybe both) of the bottom two into 6x6 paper pad storage. Slowly, but surely. I might take pics and post them to my Insta when I'm done. I did post a few pages that I really liked (not up close and in no particular order) that I finished during the Inkie Quill scrapstream, but I haven't posted any since then.

5 pages to go!! I could probably keep going, but man...I am not feeling all that creative anymore. Plus, when I set my goal, I hadn't taken into consideration when the hubby was going to take the kids grocery shopping (which he plans to do tomorrow) so I'm going to try and get it as close to finished up as I can. I am, however, officially on day 31!!!! I have a sequence of shots of us all drinking sparkling cider from champagne glasses before we put the kids to bed early (I believe we watched a NYE live countdown from the East Coast at 9 and then put them to bed right after) and then a few others from after that. The light...it's there...I can see it! I just can't do anymore tonight!

The Hallmark Christmas movie was a little over the top. She suspiciously looked at me and said, "this is something your message board people are doing isn't it?" Busted... I get asked that on occasion. Like for the photo a day in June. JoP, love the colors on your afghan! JaneB, your cards are wonderful. I love playing with fonts, but it would take me forever to create such a wonderful piece. joblackford, your cards are so fabulous! You sell these right? Do you sell locally or have an etsy or similar shop? Linda, enjoy your vacation! scrapaddict702, congrats on being on day 31!!! You rock!! Sorry I've been off the last couple of days. Last Thursday I started cleaning my craft area. Well, my wood mounted stamps had gotten into such a disarray that I pulled out a folding table in the great room and started sorting them to organize them. I had already put up another folding table with my sewing machine and supplies on it that morning. I cut out my bookmarks that afternoon. I tried to use the letter embroidery on the sewing machine for my bookmarks, and it just wasn't working properly. On Friday, I had to run to town for eggs and milk for ds. Then, I went to put the ice cream maker holder in the freezer to find the door hadn't been shut properly. So my next few hours were spent cleaning and defrosting the freezer. Next, I saw the Joann's coupons which were only for Friday. So of course, I made the 40-45 minute trip to town to get those sewing notions that I needed and a few other stops to make the trip worth while. I was suppose to sew on Saturday, but dd had a really bad night, like we were up until 2am on Friday and then up and down from 2 - 5am. I did get a name embroidered on one of the bookmarks, but the fabric puckered too much and my hoops are all way to big for the bookmark. I should have embroidered first and then cut the fabric. Live and learn. DD was still not great yesterday, so I just sat beside her. I did do some project planning. Also I watched youtube videos on my iphone with earbuds to figure out that my sewing machine problem was that I was trying to use the wrong size bobbin. It's been a while since I've sewn. I ordered the right sized bobbins and should have them tomorrow. Today, I've been working on organizing my stamps. I should have my bobbins on Monday along with some stabilizer and will try the alpha embroidery function of the machine again before trying hand embroidering the bookmarks. Hope everyone has had a nice weekend.

Love your cards JaneB and joblackford! Great to see everyone enjoying Christmas in July. Unfortunately I didn't get much done Kat work as work has been crazy and I had to go into the office as well, but I did get 3 cards done yesterday. Too dark to take pics this morning but hope to post something in the next day or two.

I spent another weekend listening to awful Hallmark Xmas movies - I even got to see the Mariah Carey one again! And I made 24 more cards before my time and energy (and backside) wore out. I have scraps enough to make a few more, but the second 6x6 paper pad is basically done. Nothing wider than 2" left, and not many pieces even that big. I do have tons of the matching 12" petite prints paper left though, so I should be able to use that with the leftover die cuts and cut-aparts, and hopefully with other Xmas leftovers. I'm going to take a bit of a break though, I think. (Although, knowing how much I love to FINISH things, I might be called back to the table to use up anything that's still usable, so that I can call it quits for good. I don't tend to go back to scraps later, or if I do, it's rather grudgingly.) Anyway, what's that..? 49 cards achieved, I think. Thanks, Christmas in July friends! LisaDV and anniefb Thanks for the love My business is Olive May Cards on Etsy. I'm pretty new to it. I don't have any of the Xmas cards listed in my shop yet (that's a whole 'nother project!) but you can see more examples with better pictures at olivemaycards on Instagram or FBk

I finally finished scrapping all my photos from Christmas 2015! After that and finishing most of my holiday cards for this year, I am ready to put the Christmas supplies away for awhile... Such a good feeling to have those both done though. Now if only I had 2016 done...

- scrapaddict702 on completing your album, it looks great!
My last effort for Christmas In July is the calendar pocket card for December. With this design I've done a full year of 3 x 4 pocket calendars, and Sep-Dec will be up in the free downloads area of my blog very soon. I'm chuffed to bits I kept up with it

I will be selling Christmas cards for the first time this year so I'm very grateful to this thread for giving me motivation to get making them early. Normally I'd wait until December to do anything Christmas-y, but that's not going to be good for business. So I've ordered some adorable Doodlebug paper (last year's line, I think) and matching die cuts and I'm going to see how many cards I can get made with one pad in one week. I've got Xmas movies on Hallmark and Netflix to get myself in the mood, and besides, I celebrated Christmas at midsummer (in NZ) for the first 24 years of my life, so at this point I'm only just getting used to Christmas being cold! Let me know how successful the business is. My neighbor thinks I should do that too. I have so much Christmas paper and embellies to last a lifetime.

jstblondie So far it's going OK but I think it will be a year or two before I will know if I really have a market or not. So far all of my sales have been to people I know personally or through social media. I don't know if my style will stand out in the big market of etsy - there are so many cardmakers. And pricing is so hard. I think I have my prices a too high right now, but they're based on a very conservative estimate of how long I spend making each card. Actually paying myself a decent wage to craft isn't likely to happen, but since it's something I was doing for fun anyway that's not too terrible. If it pays for the pretty paper to play with that would be good. If you want to chat more about the logistics of it and whether it's something you really want to do I'd be happy to message or email with you. JaneB your calendar card is lovely! Good for you, making it through the whole year. And yes, it really bugs me that I didn't make a round number of cards too! I would sit down to make number 50 except I know I would end up making a few more to try to use everything up, and then I'd have to try to make 55 or 60 and before I know it another afternoon is gone... (Maybe tomorrow) I'm itching to get my hands on the Halloween supplies I bought too, but I need to get my work work done first. LisaDV thanks for the encouragement and this thread

scrapaddict702 you might be pleased to know that Hallmark is getting into the sequel business. A few of their popular movies from this year seem to be getting sequels soon (at least one is just called "blah blah blah love: the sequel" >.<) so you can finally see what happens after the happily ever after <3

nylene 6x6 pads are the best for making cards! You should definitely play around. The prints are a good scale for card making. And if you want to you can actually use a whole pad up making a couple of dozen cards, which is the best feeling. I started out using the 6x6 paper pad tutorial by Kristie Marcotte, which uses cards sketches, but now I just wing it most of the time. I need to look her up! TFS!

There are a few other people doing 6x6 paper pad videos on YouTube now too. JessCrafts is one, I think.

Last day in July, Ladies! Thanks so much for setting up this thread and the Pinterest boards, LisaDV! I have enjoyed seeing and hearing about all the creativity, and it looks like it has inspired a bunch of crafty people to start and/or finish a lot of fun projects! I got one sign painted as a gift for a ddil, and have a date to complete a second sign. Got my ten 4 ten cards created and mailed, purchased one Christmas gift and ordered another. Yesterday I saw a perfect wall hanging for my ds's family's new home, purchased it and brought it home with the idea that I will add some metal letters to it (It has the initial of the last name on the hanging; I want to add smaller metal letters for the family members' names.) So while I did not complete nearly as much as some of you ladies, I have at least made a start in my Christmas prep.

I was inspired by joblackford 's 6x6 paper pad challenge idea, so I've been working on a Pebbles pad for the last couple of weeks. Here is what I have so far. It's been challenging and fun to figure out what to create next. I've been watching the Kristy Marcotte videos, but wanted to design from my dies and stamps, so I didn't use any sketches. I'm determined to get through the whole pad. I have about 8 uncut sheets left, shown in the bottom right. I will be adding some kind of stocking embellishment to the circle at bottom center, and I want to make a gingerbread boy/girl card (probably a Silhouette design) with the brown patterned paper. These are all fairly generic for donation to a craft-fair fundraiser. (Photos removed) Thanks for the fun challenge, LisaDV ! Looks like it will be Christmas in August for me, too. I still want to work on a shadow box and some home decor items, plus more cards.
