My Poppa used one every day for his egg at breakfast. But he was from Norway. I have never owned one or used one. I guess I like my eggs rolling around my plate. 😂 He also used a kettle for his tea every day too. 😉

I've heard of them, but never seen them in American stores or homes.
You eat soft boiled eggs in them, right? I'm not even sure what that is. It is not a common way to make/eat eggs here.

Our family has a German background (if that matters), we had them growing up for soft boiled eggs. As an adult, I have a set of them, but they are only used at Easter for hard boiled eggs.

Yes I have them. I make soft boiled eggs with toast "soldiers" quite often on weekends.

USA here, I know what they are but I don't have any. My parents brought some back from a German vacation because they fell in love with soft boiled eggs while there. Runny yolks make me heave so no egg cups for me.

I'm American and I have and use egg cups regularly. I learned about egg cups and soft boiled eggs while in the Army in Germany.

I grew up in Brooklyn Heights, NYC. Irish family that has been in NY for over 200 years so no real ties to the UK. We used egg cups for soft or hard boiled eggs. I have a few antique egg cups but don't use them anymore as I developed an allergy to eggs about 20 years ago.

I voted yes to having used egg cups and to have some. My grandmother was from Britain, so I was exposed to egg cups at a very young age. I now have her set. I don't use them, but I do smile when I look at them.

I live in the U.S and have multiple egg cups. BUT I grew up in Australia and they are very common there. In fact when we moved here I brought mine over with me I love a medium boiled egg and toast (soldiers) for breakfast. My parents still eat one boiled egg and toast for breakfast every day.

We were served our eggs in them several times in Europe.
So my DD bought me a set for Christmas a couple of years ago.
Thanks for reminding me, I need to use them!
ETA--but our eggs don't fit in them; we use grocery store large or extra large and the eggs in Europe were much smaller.

Yes, I have egg cups, but they are used infrequently. Maybe once every few months even? Mostly for "company" breakfast. For just us, the eggs are generally preferred fried or scrambled.

I haven't seen those since I was a child and come to think of it, think of them as European. Either serving eggs has gone out of style that way here or its a European thing?

My grandparents used them daily. I have some of my grandmother's egg cups (or had, actually ... recently gave them to my sister) but I never used them because I stopped eating soft-boiled eggs as soon as I could tell my mother NO! My 8yo grandson wanted to try them recently because he loves eggs, so we dug them out, but he was not impressed and that's when I gave them away. He eats 1-2 fried eggs every morning, though.

We own exactly one. And it's used by my husband, who's British. I personally hate soft boiled eggs.

I grew up eating "Humpty Dumpty Eggs" in egg cups with toast "soldiers". We were talking about it just the other night, I was telling DSO how my brother couldn't talk properly when he was little and instead of Humpty Dumpty eggs he called them Arbi-Arbiers!

When I was a little girl, my grandmother (English by birth) would put my soft boiled egg in one. Then we would "fool"my grandfather by turning my used shell upside down. Most likely to encourage me to eat the egg will quickly
As an adult, I have my soft boiled egg "slosh" around in a small dish. Uncivilized apparently 😀

I own these really cool coil black wire egg cups from IKEA ... I must have gotten them when I worked there in the late 90's ... never been used I have no idea how long to cook a soft boiled egg ... I do love a poached egg though

I do have and occasionally use egg cups -I don't often make softboiled eggs any more though - loved them as a child with bread soldiers. I am British by birth though (living in US)
