I'd also like to point out that it is not just the military who "owns" the flag. It's a symbol of unity, not a divided nation of which the current POTUS knows nothing about.
Our veterans, military, law enforcement, AS WELL AS, ordinary people have upheld what the freedoms and unity the flag represents.

Aren't Trump and Brady sort of friends? I think I recall pre-election pictures of Trump and Brady together. Brady said he couldn't be there because of family obligations, not because he was protesting anything.

Brady said he couldn't be there because of family obligations, not because he was protesting anything. Yes they are friends and he is friends with Owner Robert Kraft who has been a Trump friend and supporter. However even Kraft today came out with a statement that he was disappointed in what his friend had said about football players and the protesting. Is that what you were asking? Brady declined his invitation because of family medical issues so it wasn't personal in that sense.

Loved this. In googling about her, found this: www.sacbee.com/opinion/editorials/article175356021.html"Dear Mrs. Kaepernick, We can’t imagine what it felt like to hear President Donald Trump call you a “bitch,” just to get some cheap laughs and cheers at a campaign rally. No woman deserves to be called that. But to those of us in the Central Valley, those of us who know your story, there’s something particularly egregious about insulting you, the proud Modesto mother of a proud Turlock son.... Thirty years ago, you and your husband, Rick, adopted Colin from a teenager who wasn’t ready to be a mother. He was 5 weeks old and you called him “our little Colin.” It didn’t matter that you were white, and he was biracial and would someday grow an Afro that would both inspire and enrage millions. " I had no idea. Nor should I, I guess. Except then the POTUS calls you a bitch at a nationally recorded event. I hate every day that he is POTUS. Every FUCKING day.

I was irritated with his speech as well. Our military doesn't fight for the flag or the anthem. They fight for the rights of the PEOPLE of this country.
