OMG!!! Finally!!! I was so afraid they’d leave us hanging before she even opened the door. I really enjoyed this episode. Of couse I missed seeing more of Jaime, but I still liked it.
And WHY are they making us wait 2 weeks for the next episode??!

They're making us wait two weeks, because I'll be away next Sunday and wouldn't have been able to watch it.

They're really doing a great job IMO. I hope Claire's breasts are ready for the amount of screen time I'm sure they're about to get. And I bet they haven't changed in 20 years, amazing really!
I would have had to wear about 30 suits and shawls to carry everything I wanted to bring with me, penicillin included.

Does it explain in the books how she is able to travel back to exactly when and where she needs to go?

You can sort of steer with gem stones, though it's still a bit of a gamble. But they know they are 202 years apart (or is it 198, whichever) and you land in the place you left from (the stone circle).

There will be a 2 week wait?!?! I totally missed that.
Question... I have not read the books. Does that skeleton mean anything?

I am another one who wishes the transition to the past wasn't quite so abrupt. I was looking forward to some details about how it works. Maybe another look at Geillis' notebooks?

Great episode! I loved the "puddle" transition to the 17th century. It's straight from the prologue of Voyager.
Of course the Print Shop scene was great. Jamie cocking his head and slowly turning around was priceless. The fear/uncertainty in Claire's voice when she says "it's me, Claire" was perfect!

The last five minutes saved this episode for me. I hated the whole damn thing until we see Claire at the print shop. I don’t like The actress playing Bri, and her acting just makes me twitch. I hated almost everything about this episode...the skeleton was so contrived to me, the Batman song was too much, I’m not buying the reveal of Jamie still being alive and working as a printer in Edinburgh. I am actually going to reread those chapters just to get to refresh my memory of the events leading up to Claire’s departure. I know most of this is pretty true to the book, but I just didn’t like how they wrote the episode. Throughout the series, I have had episodes that I have liked better than others, but this one I really, really disliked.
Now, that being said, when Claire stepped out of the carriage...perfect! Jamie’s reaction? Oh my God!!!! Could Sam Heughan be anymore perfect and Caitriona Balfe reaction to his faint? Yep, the last five minutes saved this episode for me.

Kymberlee Up until the last scene this episode was a lot different than the books. There were a lot more detail as to how they found him alive and working at the print shop. The research was just barely touched on last episode, and they didn't show any of it this time. I actually really enjoyed that part of the books and felt it was a lot more believable. @peano As the legends go, you travel back (or forward) 200 years from/to the place you disappeared. In Claire's experience it was 198 years. I really like Roger's character, he is so kind and gentle. Loved the last scene, of course. I really liked the visualization of the print shop, I didn't do a good job imagining it while I was reading and loved how they brought it to life. How did y'all feel about the aging of the actors? I don't think they did a good job, but part of the problem was that they never looked 23 (Jaime) & 27 (Claire) to begin with. For those that have read the books, a question about Joe: I wonder if/how they are going to bring Joe Abernathy into the fold in later episodes since she didn't tell him what was going on before she left.

I agree that the last five minutes saved the episode, and was overall really well done. The rest of it dragged for me though. I'm another who still isn't sold on Sophie Skelton as Brianna, though I do believe her acting is better than last season's. And holy cow, foreshadowing future events much? Anyway, glad we're back in the past now. There's still a whole lot of crazy story to tell this season .

The lack of research showing how they found Jamie really bothers me about this episode. I KNOW they have to really cut back in order to shove everything into an episode, but some things just aren’t working for me. I was also very bothered that show Claire didn’t reveal everything to Joe as she did in the book. That really stood out to me as a big fail on the part of the writers as it feels like a very important part of the story. I agree dewryce that giving more details of the research makes it much more believable that they were actually able to find Jamie in Edinburg. The way it was written seems just too far fetched. Haha...like travel isn’t crazy enough, right??

I really enjoyed the show! ShowBree is much more tolerable, imo, than BookBree, although I hate her hair and it's just so dominating. Someone else will have to tell Joe, which only leaves two possibilities. I have been worried about how they would handle the faint, that they would make it too comedic, which could easily have gone slapstick-ish. But they, especially Sam, did a great job. I remembered after the show that I had though that the faint would be good ending point for the episode. I barely pay attention to the research, so it didn't bother me how they handled that aspect.

I didn’t like the faint either. Just didn’t feel it...thought that was a bit overdone. Sigh...I have truly loved, loved this season but almost everything was off this episode for me. The ending was spectacular (except when Jamie fainted), but everything thing else was meh.
Yep, Claire’s face when Jaimie fainted saved it for me. She is just wonderful.

Does it explain in the books how she is able to travel back to exactly when and where she needs to go? The book has more details about her going through the stones, waking up and walking to Inverness and traveling by coach to Edinburgh.

Remember, Claire left a note for Joe. So it probably says something in there.
I didn't have a problem with all the investigating, etc. I mean, if the show covered everything in the books, we wouldn't be anywhere right now.

I don't hate Brianna the actress at all. I don't like her much in the books so I'm hoping she'll be more likeable on the show.

One departure from the books that I am really disliking is the treatment of Frank's cheating. In the book he cheats with multiple woman; the show is making it seen like it was only one woman for a long period of time. It's coming across as Claire being selfish, when in the book they had an agreement for him to keep it private. I think she's coming off worse than she did in the books, and that Frank is looking more the wounded party than he did in the book.

I wonder if Claire wrote it down in the letter she wrote to Joe or if Bree will share it with him. I loved the transition when she returns to Scotland. We've seen her go through the stones twice before, it was not necessary to see it again. And I think I seriously gasped when it happened because it was so unexpected and as a book reader, it kind of nice to get a surprise. The last 10 minutes of the show were everything. I think I woke a few people in my house with my whooping! ;-p
Did anyone else see when the credits rolled that Eposode 306 will be an extended episode. If that's the case, I'll take the two week wait! (Of course extended better mean more than 5 minutes!)

I'm another that didn't love this episode. The last 5 minutes made it worth sitting through the episode though. I'm not liking Bree, but I didn't really like her character in the books either, so I guess she's acting the part.
I can't wait for the reunion episode in two weeks and an extended episode at that! I'd better be ready, my DH is likely going to attack me before the sex scene(s) are done.
He's hasn't read any of the books, but really liking the show. As much of a history buff as he is, I'm trying to convince him to read the books. He thought they were all romance, but seeing now that there's a lot more history and story to them.

Regardless, in the books it's many affairs, in the show it's only one. I do think that paints a different picture of Frank.
