My DD says it looks a little bit dry but I can't be bothered to get up and have a look now Apparently it's still visible too. I'd say it's comfortable - I'll try it again tomorrow as I do like the colour and I want to like it, if you know what I mean.

I also have the peach eyeshadow palette and love that as well. Both products have a light, peachy smell when you apply it, but the smell fades right away.

It was Β£9.99 which is about standard for Maybelline here. SaveThat is what I pay Canadian on sale. That is seriously messed up! It's all relative though. Despite the exchange rate, you ladies have access to a lot more 'high end' brands in places like Ulta where they sell Maybelline. So therefore Maybelline is priced lower according to it's competitors. Here we have two stores called Boots and Superdrug, which are our two options for lower-end makeup. Other than that you have to go to a department store and they don't sell brands like Maybelline there - it's your Chanel, Urban Decay, Bare Minerals. Drugstores are more accessible than department stores so Maybelline can be priced higher as it's one of the better drugstore brands here in the UK. Basically when buying a drugstore lipstick in the UK, in some cases you can spend like a few pound more and just get a MAC lipstick. MAC isn't as accessible though and we have a drugstore in every town.

That is the brand inflating itβs prices because they can and not because of better quality. That bugs me. We have it in Canada and itβs stupid.

We have less options so they can get away with it. The day I realised you could buy a lipstick in the drugstore for the same price as a MAC lipstick I knew we were being ripped off.

I bought the Maybelline matte ink in Lover yesterday, wore it today for the first time and while the colour is great I can't get on with the formula. It's drying and looks horrible after a while, my lips feel parched and look about a hundred years old. What am I doing wrong with it?? I bought it last night as well. Tried it out last night and it seemed ok. Just put it on at noon. Within an hour it was flaky (noticed that while talking with a client). I put lip balm over it and it feels better. Probably should look in the mirror to make sure it looks ok.

ihaveonly1l I've moved on from powder blushes. They never look quite as natural as a good cream blush. After a long search, the holy grail has been found: Bobbi Brown's Pot Rouge in Uber Beige (don't like it on the lips though). It's also one of Hannah Martin's faves (in case you follow her on YouTube). Hey, I have to thank you for mentioning Hannah Martin! I hadn't heard of her before, but I've been watching her YouTube videos today and she's terrific. Thanks!

lainey - well it's still there, looking matte and really only very slightly dry. I'll wear it all day tomorrow and see how it goes when I'm at work and more likely to glance in a mirrorΒ ETA - it even survived brushing my teeth and wasn't all over the brush!

What holiday items are you guys eyeing up? I keep eyeing up the Smashbox primer set - I travel a lot so I'm always on the hunt for my favourite products in miniature size. I don't really need it right now though so keep putting it back!

I am in a hotel and just used the hand lotion with βherbsβ in it. It has rosemary, Melissa and thyme. It smells kind of floorally but it is so non-greasy! Totally impressed with how nice it is!

I am watching this thread!
Something new I like: I picked up a sample of Urban Decay Naked Skin Concealer. It happened to be the perfect color to cover my sun spots. I have a "larger than a freckle" one on the side of my cheek & this concealer covers it all day. I don't use it under my eyes as I need a pinkish corrector (Bobbi Brown in light bisque works well for that) but I may now see about more Urban Decay foundations.

I went into Ulta the other day, and for some reason, I looked at the Clairsonic brushes. Did anyone know that they now make a makeup application brush? I tried it, and I love it! I use it with a tiny bit of foundation, and it looks great! I'm not sure that I have ever been so immediately pleased with any makeup, so I thought I'd share. I got this in the mail tonight! Very excited to try it tomorrow!!

Nudes look wonderful!!! Did you get them at Sephora? No, actually, I got them at Walgreens (Drug Store) but I have seen them at Walmart, Target and Ulta. I don't have a Sephora near me but I would guess they would carry them. SaveRimmel is not carried by Sephora.

What holiday items are you guys eyeing up? I think I want the turquoise Too Faced planner/palette that's at Ulta. There is usually at least one thing I will want from Sephora and Ulta on Black Friday, but I haven't seen spoilers for those yet. Not sure if these are specifically holiday items, but I am interested in this palette from Ciate and maybe this Laniege trial kit. Has anyone bought any of the Too Faced Peachy line yet? I really like what I am seeing so far and would like an honest opinion. I canβt go to Sephora until the 24th and I am chomping at the bit to get some. Anyone? Do you mean the "peaches and cream" line that is at Sephora and toofaced.com only, or the "Sweet Peach" line that's been out for a while? If you mean peaches and cream, I have the peach frost highlighter, which I love. Smells fantastic-- it is different from (better than, IMO) the sweet peach line. I mostly use it as a brow highlighter. I just ordered the setting powder tonight. Will report back. I checked out the lipsticks in store, but I didn't really like how those smelled compared to the powders, and none of the colors seemed quite right for me. If you mean the sweet peach, I have the eyeshadow palette and it's nice, though I use chocolate bar more. I had a couple of the lip glosses but they also tasted just a little funny. I wouldn't mind getting the highlighting palette, though.

I've never tried anything from Smashbox Their primers are fantastic - I recommend the original and hydrating varieties. Keeps my makeup in place and keeps the oil away allllll day.

I started watching a skin care youtube channel this week that I would highly recommend. Dr. Dray -- she is a Houston dermatologist and does a great job breaking down what all the big words mean as far as ingredients go.
She goes through the skin care aisles of Walgreens, Ulta, CVS, etc. and talks about the products, the ingredients, which are effective and why, and which are just a waste of money.
She's a quirky little thing but she's so, so smart. Go watch her!

Went to Sephora today because sadly, Iβm not loving my Rihanna foundation. It may be that I picked the wrong shade, or itβs not playing well with my primer and/or brush. Itβs a wee bit cakey and you can tell Iβm wearing it.
I was going to try the Tarte Amazon Clay foundation, but they were out of my shade of course. But I was given a large sample, and if I like it Iβll probably return Rihannaβs foundation.
And I bought Lolita long lasting lipstick by Kat Von D. Because I have Lolita 2 and it was too dark for me. Get home....nope...I donβt have Lolita 2. I have Lolita. Yβall...this is the second time Iβve done this. Now I have 3 Lolitas. Oy.
It has a pinkish tone too it, but when I wear it, itβs dark brown. Doesnβt work with my coloring. But I love how long lasting it is. However, if I wear gloss on top to lighten it up, it wears off like regular lipstick.
Also picked us NARS liquid blush in Orgasm. A little nervous about this. I have never used liquid blush before. Hoping it blends well.
Thanks to Elaineabling, I have a large Too Faced order coming. Yay!

I love this thread ! Now that I'm older I'm trying to make changes on my make up and face creams. I need so much more coverage then what I used to. I was using Clinique but wasn't getting the coverage that I needed anymore. I have switched to Maybelline super skin and working with that. I also found that Younique lip stain really stays on. A little higher then what I'd like to pay but I'm loving it.
