This story is so bizzare that I don't know what to believe. I can see so many possibilities, and feel like we need a body to piece it together.

Add me to the list of people who can't believe the police still believe that this time he's telling the whole truth. :/

verdepeaAn elevator on a memory care unit doesn't need to be accessible to everybody. Dementia patients are extremely adapt at escaping. My husband's mother who was going through withdrawl, that made her crazy, figured out how to get out her bed that had alarms on it. So they put a braclet on her she got it off. Then they put a gown on her that had sensors in it. She got that off. She was bound that she was going to get her hydrocordon no matter how injured she got. My neighbor's wife broke the window and actually was able to pull the bars off her window. They grabbed her as she was crawling out the window. ( naked). Even tho they ended up sedated her from the last couple weeks of her life, she spent every last minute screaming and trying to escape.

These dementia stories sound like living nightmares. Oh god I hope I don't feel trapped at the end.

My parents were living in Hartville when I was born, and with the tragic nature of this case, I can't help searching for further news on Ms Snider's disappearance. Anyway, I stumbled across a few new articles that give some additional information, but she still hasn't been found. link from OhioExcerpt (Dordea is the Hartville police chief; he doesn't seem as clueless as some have feared): Here's an additional article from Tennessee that's now on USA Today: link - USA TodayThis talks a bit more about the search and relayed more of the husband's statements to police. Excerpts: One more - link - Fox8Excerpt

I now think he spread her ashes in the river. I'd say "body" not "ashes"==no indication that she was cremated.

At this point I'm beginning to wonder if she even did have cancer. Something is rotten in Denmark for sure.

I now think he spread her ashes in the river. I'd say "body" not "ashes"==no indication that she was cremated. Just a guess on my part, of course, based on the obit saying she was cremated (which the whole obit is questionable anyway), and the above statement from LE that she supposedly wanted to be cremated. It's easier for me to imagine an older man scattering ashes among nature than heaving a body over a bridge rail. That said, it would mean the cremation would have been DIY and that's just .

I wonder if he would have to drive through any intersections with cameras close to home to get on the highway. That way they could at least see if she was in the front seat.

I was wondering the same thing. They had to go through KY, which has several toll roads. Not sure if the toll roads there are like they are here, where they just take a photo of your tag.

Initially I was thinking oh toll road photos, then I remembered my txtolltag bills with photos of my license only. Didn't want to list it as a possible source of info in case I was mistaken. Because now I can't recall if some places do take photos of whole car, or if I only thought they did based on a scene in the movie National Treasure

I’m not surprised by his arrest. That whole story had more holes than a slice of Swiss cheese.

Not surprised at all - but I wonder what LE found for evidence. They are going forward without a body so it must be pretty damning evidence of murder.

Our present use of security cameras (home, business, department of transportation, etc.) really helps point out lies in so many criminal cases now. The police said he was alone when he was in the parking lot he claims he met the paramedics. I'm sure they have been able to locate him on various parts of his route and can tell when his wife disappeared from the trip.
