Has anyone experienced this and what were your remedies? I believe that I have an allergic reaction to the salon hair color after I confirmed that a key ingredient in this hair color has been a trigger for me in the past, cera alba, beeswax, propolis.... my head is on fire.... The salon has suggested that I come in for a scalp treatment to help with the inflammation (oat based), but what about the long-term? Strip my hair of this color and start fresh with another that doesn't contain cera alba? Any suggestions welcomed.

Can you take some Benadryl? That helps for many other kinds of allergic reactions. Hope you find some relief quickly!

I had two threads about being allergic to hair dye. I am allergic to a different compound in them, but perhaps my experience will help you nonetheless. Original thread.Follow-up thread.Long story short, I now use EcoColors Professional Line. I've been more than pleased with it. I get my hair done every five weeks and the color is not only lasting, but my hair is soft and healthy. The stuff even smells good when she's putting it on. Best of all, I have no reaction to it whatsoever.

My mom and a friend, both had this happen. Take benedryl and very lightly rub aloe vera gel/ointment on scalp and around hairline. Messy, but it helped immensely. Similar to sunburns. Aloe vera will help stop the burning. Disclaimer to say: I am not in the Medical field, just based on personal knowledge from others experience..
