It sounds good to me. I get the small size everything to try out because I can travel with it easily. I use my points sometimes. I just got a great travel sized hair care kit. Perfect and might get another!

I much prefer spending at Ulta. I’m diamond and often get 4x the points it seems and then get freee stuff. Sephora just has you chose a little funky sample and in store it’s always picked over and never anything I want.

I am not ordering colours through the mail and with a poor dollar to CADollar exchange rate right now. It’s not worth it but there is an eyeshadow palette from Tarte I am just looking at. I haven’t ordered it yet. I just like it. I am not getting anything new for a while. If I had a good Ulta Locally I may feel differently.

I am happy to see that Sephora is going to have a gift card option as one of the rewards.

You have 4 Ultas *near* you. And a Sephora. I have a Shoppers Drug mart with a good post office. It has high end brands like Estée Lauder, Clinique, Origins, Urban Decay, etc so I will give you one Ulta for that. global.ulta.com/love-trust-fairy-dust-eye-cheek-palette?productId=xlsImpprod18541020Do do you have it??? Love it? I have eye shadow I don’t wear and will I wear this?

Ok here is some tried and true experience. I bought 3 highly metallic liquid lipsticks. I have worn them on and off. (Estée Lauder, Stila and Too Faced) and have wondering what I looked like in them. I saw someone tell me they look silly and I agreed that is how I look, too. Your mileage may vary. These are seriously metallic kind of a David Bowie sparkle.

I think Ulta should open up some stores in Canada! I love the Love, Trust & Fairy Dust palette.

For those that have the love, trust fairy dust palette, are the colors true on? I have another palette from Tarte that everyone raved about, where the colors look pinky/purple, but some very brown when applied.

I have several palettes that have colors that look purple but when I put them on, they look brown. I don't want a full on purple, but I want it to have a purple tint, if that makes sense. Basically, like the way the color looks in the palette. Now how it looks on my skin.

I have a couple by someone, maybe Colorpop? They are gorgeous, but I feel silly in them. It isn't the color, it's the metallic-ness combined with the immense glossiness. I'm 46 and clearly give off the "soccer mom" vibe, FWIW. I could perhaps do it for date night, but these are not particularly long-lasting ones - so once there's drinks or dinner or kissing, lol, not only is it off me but it's on everything else. I have a metallic regular lipstick by UD that I feel more comfortable in, maybe because it's not over the top glossy.

Does having a mark on your face removed count as “having work done”? If so then that is what I did. I had IPL done to a brown spot. Ask me how happy I did this!!! It might take two procedures. The gal at the doctor’s office who did it told me before it might take two treatments. Afterwards she said she thought she got it all with one treatment. It didn’t feel good but it’s totally bearable and I was so happy to get it zapped.

I did get the Becca lip gloss that has a little shimmer to it. I was questioning if it was too glittery but it is very subtle. I think it’s ok for all ages.

I have another palette from Tarte that everyone raved about, where the colors look pinky/purple, but some very brown when applied. It's pinky/mauvish I'd say, but not really purple. It is really one of my favorites. I have noticed that several of the Tarte (& other brands) colors are sometimes so different in person than they appear online. The Aspen Ovard palette comes to mind. I thought it was going to be much more pink than it actually is. I bought the Make Magic Happen palette online last week, and I'm going to return it. I got one of the Jaclyn Hill Vault palettes yesterday because I have no self control. My bff's kids went back to school yesterday, so we met for breakfast and some shopping. We both ended up buying the Bling Boss (purple) palette.

I like pinks, purples, plums etc. I have tried teal and navy and look silly. The problem with pink etc is my eyes look sore and tired. That isn’t what I want. What I do is just put concealer on my eyelids. Other people look so good with made up eyes then I do it and say no. I am not saying it looks bad at all. On me it’s like the metallic lipstick and way too much makeup.

I was doing some googling and I found the cosmetics I used in Japan at the time. It is interesting. I used every step and my public (my husband thought he could notice a significant difference). I thought that was interesting. I figured he would just say I looked the same get over it. He said “Yeah I notice a significant difference for sure.” Ok so that was a win. This is the brand. It is a bit pricier than Tatcha or anything and on par with La Mer. www.domohornwrinkle.com/en/product/

I have a new favorite lip color - my flight was delayed in Seattle this week so I browsed the MAC store at the airport and ended up buying Plumful and it's soooo pretty. Really happy with it.
I'm with those who prefer Ulta's rewards program but I still shop more at Sephora. There's a lot of stuff that Sephora carries and Ulta doesn't that I like (especially in skincare). And I buy a lot more skincare than makeup, so... Sephora remains my go-to.

Also please discuss fragrance. I can’t wear some brands because it is too strong. I've used the La Mer Moisturizing Cream. Bought it from Neiman Marcus. It was ridiculously pricey, but it did last a long way. The scent is very faint floral-y citrus. It isn't strong at all, IMHO. The biggest issue I had is learning to rub it in-between my hands before applying to my face. If you apply it directly to your face it doesn't thin out properly. But once its on it is wonderful. My area where I live is very, very dry and my skin can be miserable in the winter. La Mer helped so much. It wasn't greasy either like some moisturizers. Now, why did I quit it if I loved it? The price. 3 oz for $500 is stupid (you can get it in smaller tubs but still the cheapest is around $200). I had a gift card that paid for most of mine or I would not have tried it. Mama (me) loves spending money on purses. NOT moisturizer. I did get a deluxe sample for the eye concentrate (green bottle). It was ok. But not as nice as the moisturizer IMHO. I preferred my Este Lauder eye cream hands down more. And its cheaper.

I am sure it’s very nice cream and all their products are excellent but are they worth spending the extra money? I have my Tatcha water cream and my Skin Medica eye creams and a couple of acids and serums and I think I am good. I am the type of patient they love. I am afraid to NOT use what they are selling because what if theirs is better? Do I want to take a chance they are wrong? My eyes haven’t looked this good ever. The skin is so hydrated and dewy looking and maybe plump. The dark circles aren’t nearly as defined either. That is good enough evidence for me. They make a hyaluronic acid that is like putting comfort on your face. It isn’t greasy. It isn’t stick. It feels so good and looks nice. It is the best whatever it does cream I have tried and I don’t want to not use this.

Delta Dawn I think if money is no object, then use it. But for most of us it is and there are equally as good (ok, maybe 95% as good) products on the market that are a better value. I had told dh I wanted to try it so he got me a gift card for some. It was nice but nah. Give me the cheaper version and let me spend the extra money somewhere else.

mom I am not sure I want to spend that much money as I like lots of things. A new earth-shattering mascara is going to get released. Then a new awesome blush. Then another new concealer. I like new and better. I use what I buy, but this is too much. I have the bougie foundation and it does look great, but not that great. When I use up every drop I won’t replace.

Does anyone use the Hourglass stick foundation? I've been thinking about getting this for a while, and was excited to get a sample from Sephora, but even the lightest one (of the tiny sample sticks) is not quite the right shade for me, and I think will definitely be too dark in a month or two. The 20% off sale coming up seems like a good time to get it if I'm going to.

I wanted to start with a review of the It Cosmetics matte CC cream. I have used it for three days and really like it. So far it seems to last longer than the original version (on my skin). It really doesn't seem matte at all, though. I am glad it isn't super flat, but I do have quite a bit of shine or "glow" that comes through. I broke down and bought the deal off of QVC last night out of impulse and needing some retail therapy. Long story but I am at least looking forward to giving it a try. Keep your fingers crossed for me

Did you guys know that Ulta has 21 days of beauty coming up, and Sephora is having a sale as well?! I just saw that on the Beauty Chit Chat group in the last few days.
