I'm just interested in the fashion and jewellery. Particularly interested to see whether she wears her mother's tiara or if they pull one out from the Queen's vault for her. Also curious to see how the family politics play out. Their father is trying to get them declared that they are "significant royals" so as to get them on the Queen's civil list. That way they will be paid an annual allowance from taxpayers simply because they exist. I believe the Queen turned them down, but their father is still trying to change her mind. I guess it is because having to work for a living is not only pesky, but boring and they should not have to go through that hardship. I have no sympathy for them in this quest. I have not ever seen that they have done anything worthwhile nor deserving of payment from the public coffers. To me, they pretty well come across as entitled airheads. Oh, I had no idea whatsoever, thank you. Well, kind of. There isn't a civil list any more, it was replaced by the sovereign grant a few years ago. There aren't any "simply because they exist" allowances paid from that, but the costs of carrying out official duties are met from it. Presumably this includes a generous payment to the individual member of the royal family carrying out the duty by way of 'wages' but we don't know that for sure. There is however no way they would get money from it without doing official duties - whether you consider that work is another matter! The problem with the York princesses is that they have seemingly been discouraged from doing any official duties contrary to Prince Andrew's wishes, and looking forward Prince Charles has indicated he wants to 'streamline' the Royal Family (and presumably the number of things they do?) so it is even less likely that they will be in a position to receive any public funding in that case.

I am distinctly underwhelmed at the prospect of this royal wedding to be honest, even though I really enjoyed Harry and Meghan’s. I think the more her father tries to insist she and her sister are ‘significant’ royals the less interested I am on principle 😁 Sums up my feelings exactly. No interest in this freeloading and fairly obnoxious branch of the Royal Family. I see no reason why a) her wedding should cost more than that that of Harry and Megan and b) why the tax payer should be funding it.

I love royalty, especially British royalty. I'll be watching, not just for the wedding but for William and Katherine sightings! =)

So how does it work when you consider that I'm sure they do need security, there are certain expectations of how they dress, they are serving on at least some charity boards, etc.? Are they able to get any allowance for expenses like that? Or is that from the Queen's coffers or some other source? Just curious here!

I think the royal family are paying for the wedding and the public are paying for the security as all the royals will be there and the public pays for their security everyday

If a grandfather can’t attend the wedding of his granddaughter because of his dislike for her mother, I have even less interest in the royal family than I had before. And that wasn’t a lot to begin with. I’m not a fan of people having their life handed to them based on their family or especially their birth order.

I remember when her parents got married, taped it and watched it, and remember when she was born. While I don't have cable so won't watch it live, I'll definitely catch up online. Exciting indeed.
I dont either, but I watched Harry and Meghan's wedding live, on my laptop. I just went to the BBC website and they were live streaming it. Thank you!

I would kind of like to watch, but no access to TV right now plus too much else going on that day. I wish Eugenie the best. I have always liked her.

The wedding is coming up at 4:25 am on TLC. I guess I’ll stay up and watch it because I want to see Andrea Bocelli. I can bust open my new tea my cousin brought back for me from Paris.

I want to see Andrea Bocelli. When will he be singing? I love him! As the wedding is at 11am I would guess looking at this order of service that it would be somewhere around 11.30 gar. maybe a little earlier. The vows part of the wedding doesn't take that long really.

I’m watching the run up on my iPad at work and they’ve just shown a pre wedding interview with Prince Andrew and he was saying that this wedding isn’t a public wedding “like the last one” ! He couldn’t say Harry and Meghan? Then he said something about there being more guests...definitely a bit competitive or bitter or something.

Just switched on and find it a little embarrassing that there are more policemen on the long walk than members of the public.
Lots of green being worn! So nice to see the Royals chatting away to each other and appearing to be enjoying themselves. Lovely to see Princess Anne chatting with Meghan.
What a shame is so windy. The flowers are lovely.
The kiddies have green too! Waffling now, so much for me not being particularly interested!

Yes, I’m pleased to see Prince Philip too. Have they said why Camilla is not there?
Someone remarked the other day that the dress would be low backed as a nod to the surgery she had as a child.
Nice dress! Love the shoulders.
