I am distinctly underwhelmed at the prospect of this royal wedding to be honest, even though I really enjoyed Harry and Meghan’s. I think the more her father tries to insist she and her sister are ‘significant’ royals the less interested I am on principle 😁

I can’t wait
In my opinion they are significant royals, I remember them being born and when they were children they were in the limelight
I’m a big fan of the royals as my grandmother really really adored them

I'll be happy to see the photos after the event, but won't be recording or waking up for it.

In general I don't pay much attention to the royal family except for when they get married or have babies. So I have no real idea what this one and her sister (or their father) get up to outside of those times.
If it's on TV here, I'll watch...to see the dress, the guests and what they are all wearing. Apart from the guests I though Harry & Meghan's wedding was a disappointment. I hope her dress is better than that...and hopefully there's some crazy 3 tier veil! I'll also be curious as to Sarah's role and see how that all plays out.
My exception to "I don't really care about the royals" is William, Kate & kids. I do have a soft spot for them and think she is so beautiful and elegant. I'd watch just to see her and the kids.

I remember when her parents got married, taped it and watched it, and remember when she was born. While I don't have cable so won't watch it live, I'll definitely catch up online. Exciting indeed.

I have to work that day, so I won't be getting up early to watch, but I will record it and watch Friday night or Saturday morning. Maybe Saturday morning would be best, then I can make some scones to have while I watch.

I am watching to see if the queen and phillip actually attend. I'm curious. It's their granddaughter's wedding, why wouldn't they? Are they not being married somwhere convenient?

It's known that Prince Phillip can't stand Eugenie's mother, the Duchess of York (Sarah Ferguson) - or so I've read - so I doubt that he shows. Also, he doesn't seem to be attending much these days due to his health. I thought I read somewhere that the Queen would be there though.

Thank you. Now that you mention it, I vaguely recall hearing something like that when all the royal stuff was front and center when Harry and Meghan got married. You're welcome! We need to hook you up with some blogs that follow royal family members and get you up to speed. I find it a nice escape from all the political mess I see posted here, Facebook and the media.

I read an article that indicated he was quite close to Eugenie so the assumption was that he'd put aside his feelings about Sarah and attend, health permitting.

I love to watch some Royal weddings.. It was a big deal when her mom and dad got married so I'll watch this one. I will record and watch when I have time though. Since these two girls seem to dress to their own beat a lot, I'm curious what the wedding dress is going to look like.

I dont either, but I watched Harry and Meghan's wedding live, on my laptop. I just went to the BBC website and they were live streaming it.

gar has expressed my opinion pretty much word for word. I love our Royal Family and always watch ‘significant’ events and by significant I mean those where we watch history in the making. Eugenie’s wedding is unlikely to have any meaning to our country’s history and will probably only garner a line or two in the reference books. I used to admire Prince Andrew for his military service but he does seem to have become nothing more than a hanger on in the last twenty years or so. I can not bear Sarah Ferguson. Having said that, Eugenie is the Queen’s grandchild and although I won’t make a particular point of watching the coverage, I’ll probably put it on at some point if only because I like how we do these things.

Their father is trying to get them declared that they are "significant royals" so as to get them on the Queen's civil list. That way they will be paid an annual allowance from taxpayers simply because they exist. I believe the Queen turned them down, but their father is still trying to change her mind. I guess it is because having to work for a living is not only pesky, but boring and they should not have to go through that hardship. I have no sympathy for them in this quest. I have not ever seen that they have done anything worthwhile nor deserving of payment from the public coffers. To me, they pretty well come across as entitled airheads.

Oh, I had no idea whatsoever, thank you. I have also read recently that Sarah won't be allowed to sit on the Bride's side in the church. Now I can't remember where I glanced that tidbit and it may well be nonsense but she became pretty much persona non grata due to her indiscretions although it's said that she and Andrew are still friendly at least so who knows. I agree with gillyp - he seems to have turned from someone doing a great job with his military service and promoting the UK abroad into somewhat of a pompous arse.

( saved me a lot of typing ) I'll probably watch the " highlights" but not much more . Nothing against the girls themselves but they are not significant royals as in, they are not on the list of official" working Royals" They just happen to be the Queen's grandchildren. No different to Peter and Zara Phillips, who I have far more respect for in the way they have been brought up Princess Anne and the way they now lead their lives.
