This is the first year I'm participating in it and I'm excited! I 'm going to try my best to make my cards but if I don't have the time, I've accepted that I'll just buy some cute store-bought cards and enjoy it just as much. I love sending and receiving Christmas cards so I'm looking forward to it! Who else is participating? Here's the link in case you haven't seen the thread for information and to sign-up!

I signed up it's my 2nd time doing it and I loved It!
Yay for joining in you will love it I'm sure! It was a highlight of the season to receive all the cards.
Don't worry about them being handmade many don't make them and we are just as excited to receive the store bought ones!
Also don't stress if you aren't financially able to send to everyone it isn't a requirement or expected at all.
I made a lot of mine but not all. If you want to try and make some I used those one sheet wonder techniques and was able to make them fairly quickly and painlessly LOL. There are lots of YT videos on them.

Seriously considering it because I know my kids would LOVE opening cards and seeing where they are from. I’m definitely not a card maker, so glad to hear store bought are allowed.

Oh, you should definitely sign up!!!! It's so much fun! Lots of Peas (including myself) send store bought cards. Last year I had just moved out of my house and into an apartment (my husband and I are divorcing). The job I had was miserable. It was a tough time. Coming home every day and opening my mailbox to a stack of cards from the Peas was just what I needed. It made my Christmas so much better. When my youngest son walked into my apartment on Christmas Day and saw all the cards I had on display he said, "WOW!! You have a lot of friends!!" and I told him yes, I sure did. The Peas are the best!

This is my first year too and am so looking forward to it. I've always loved sending out Christmas cards and it seems to have gone by the way side with a lot of people so this should be fun. Just have to remind myself to buy stamps every paycheck to stock up for December

I've never done it and was kind of hesitant to sign up this year (for no real reason) but I've just submitted my details so I guess this means I'm in.

Just remember, nowhere in “card swap” does it say “handmade”. Cards are cards are cards. The more participating the merrier!!!

I think in the long run we will both be much, much happier, but right now it's just hard.

But SO worth it. So far I am on top of it... I have most of my cards done... whoot whoot... And let me tell you, you will get some amazing cards!! I feel like mine are inferior! But who cares.... as long as no one kept a spreadsheet on how they looked.. HAHA... I am going to see my mom at the end of the month and taking all my cards from last year to show her all the fun cards I got.. she likes to dabble in scrapping so she will get a kick out of them.

I mail to everyone, and I know there are others that do the same. Everyone will get cards. Do what works for you. I’m definitely in it to give. The getting is gravy.

I've done it the last 3 years, but not sure if I will this year. Usually have started making my cards by now, and I didn't post to everyone - but this year, I'm just not feeling it. I know I have another day or two to decide, but honestly not sure what to do

I signed up. This is my second year. I have been working on making cards off and on all year. I doubt I will have enough handmade ones for everyone, but I have a couple of boxes stashed around here somewhere...
It really helped get me in more of a holiday mood last year.

I thought about signing up but work is so busy this year I just can't take anything extra on at the moment. Maybe next year.
The other thing is that postage rates have gone up terribly in New Zealand the last couple of years and it's now $3 to send a regular letter/card overseas (Australia's a bit cheaper). If I was to sign up for the swap next year I think I'd need to put it in my budget!

I participated the last 2 years, but I think I'm taking this year off. It was fun to see what was in the mailbox every day.

If you are on the west coast (or slightly west of the mid-west) then your spreadsheet has told you I ran out of time last year and I missed many of those peas!!

I'm in. I participated two years ago and it was so much fun getting home and finding Christmas cards from all over the world. It's ironic though that I didn't get a single card from anyone I know IRL! Sadly, it isn't a tradition in my country.

I keep a spreadsheet.. LOL... Note to self: first card must be posted to workingclassdog That's funny! What's even more funny is that I don't know how some pea's keep up with everything!!! I hardly can remember names. There are like 5 names that I 'know' and the rest is a blur...

I decided not to participate this year. I loved making cards and sending them out, and I loved checking the post box and actually having beautiful happy mail in it. But I struggled with what to do with the huge volume of cards I received.
I have a friend who loves handmade cards so she's keen to take some of my collection to display in her house. She doesn't care that they're addressed to someone else. I may keep some of my favorites to display again this year (since most of my IRL friends don't send cards any more) but I don't have much space.
I upcycled some of the store bought cards into new cards to donate this year, but what do you do with the handmade cards? Do you keep them all? Do you think about what happens to the handmade cards you send out?

I thought about it, I don’t get Christmas cards from anyone anymore but just so much going on lately. Hopefully next year will be easier:)
