so, lemme get this right... in this person's Facebook rant, the *rabid, messy, dirty raccoons* are the stand-in for Mexican immigrants? do I have that right? I don't even know what to SAY to that... T his country became weak and bankrupt, our enemies were making fun of us, we are being invaded by illegals, we are becoming a nation of victims where every Tom, Ricardo, and Hasid is a special group with special rights to a point where we don't even recognize the country we were born and raised in; " AND WE JUST WANT IT FIXED ". And Trump is the only guy who seems to understand what the people want. when did this victimhood happen? when did we become weak and bankrupt? because I seem to remember President Clinton doing pretty good with the deficit, and we weren't really "victims" in my eyes at least, until the 9/11 bombing... what country do these people live in? Wow. Like I said above, no longer bothering to hide the racism. His real problem is that white men are no longer a special group with special rights. What's the saying? Equality feels like oppression if you've always been privileged. I have Tom, Ricardo and Hadid in 2nd grade and I can verify they're all quite special. 😊

Rep Joe Kennedy III..
“Glad to see House GOP finally stand up to Steve King — who didn’t suddenly become racist this week. But hard to take their condemnation against white supremacy seriously when they’ve let it sit cozy in the White House for two years with barely a peep”

“Trump Discussed Pulling U.S. From NATO, Aides Say Amid New Concerns Over Russia" This MUST not happen! Wow. Like I said above, no longer bothering to hide the racism. His real problem is that white men are no longer a special group with special rights. What's the saying? Equality feels like oppression if you've always been privileged. True!

I would think the catering and kitchen staff at the DC Trump hotel (or any of his clubs or MarALago for that matter) would have put on a nice event at his expense. But WE would have to paid the BIG bill............... He bills for every use, thought or whatever when he uses his properties........... Sanders said Trump instead would have “a working lunch with House Republicans to solve the border crisis and reopen the government.” Nine Republicans have confirmed they would attend. Same thoughts! Wanna bet that not one of them is going to be eating cold fast food at this lunch?

Walter Shaub...
“Barr is asked again by @senkamalaharris about his failure to commit to following ethics officials’ guidance. He says he’ll substitute his own judgment for theirs when he disagrees with them. Barr fails to appreciate that he cannot be as objective about himself as they can be.”
Ah another stable genius who thinks he knows everything I see. Just what we don’t need.

Because, it would be more expensive here. Senators gave a damn good health plan, so it must not be a covered surgery? If that’s the case then it’s way more than $8000. My out patient surgery cost more than that. They have the Cadillac of health care plans, and pay nothing for the insurance. And Paul has already filed suit for reimbursement from the neighbor that attacked him, claiming the need for surgery arose from that attack. Cheaper or not, it actually would not cost him anything for the surgery, either here or in Canada. But I suspect that if he had the surgery here, he would have to use his insurance, and therefore could not stick the bill on the neighbor.

Someone will have more to be unhappy about today!! Judge Strikes Down Controversial Citizenship Question on 2020 CensusIn a scathing ruling, the judge said the Trump administration had “violated the law” and “violated the public trust.” ARI BERMANJANUARY 15, 2019 11:21 AM A federal judge struck down a controversial question about US citizenship that the Trump administration added to the 2020 census, ruling that “adding a citizenship question to the census will result in a significant reduction in self-response rates among noncitizen and Hispanic households.” (SDNY) The decision is likely to be appealed to the Supreme Court, which could reinstate the question in time for it to be included on the 2020 census. The administration announced in March 2017 that it was adding the citizenship question, which hasn’t been asked on the census since 1950. Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross, who oversees the Census Bureau, approved the question. Furman ruled that Ross’ decision violated the Administrative Procedure Act of 1946, which prohibits federal agencies from acting in a manner that is arbitrary and capricious. In a biting opinion, Furman ruled that Ross “alternately ignored, cherry-picked, or badly misconstrued the evidence in the record before him,” “acted irrationally,” and “failed to justify significant departures from past policies and practices—a veritable smorgasbord of classic, clear-cut APA violations.”** More at link: www.motherjones.com/politics/2019/01/judge-strikes-down-controversial-citizenship-question-on-2020-census/

Brian Fallon...
”Mitch McConnell is the story. Bipartisan gangs of senators are not going to fix this. Mike Pence meeting with staffers is not going to fix this. Trump sitting alone in the residence is not going to fix this. Mitch McConnell is the story.”
Old Mitch sure likes to block things.
He blocked President Obama from fulfilling his Constitutional right to fill an opening on the Supreme Court.
He blocked President Obama along with the Congressional Leadership on both sides from making a joint statement about Russia meddling in our election prior to the election.
And he is now blocking any bill that could stop the shutdown from coming to the Senate floor for a vote.

Even when I voted Republican, I could not stand him. I don't understand how that man keeps getting elected. I truly think it is because people recognize his name, so they vote for him. I mean, is there really anyone who actually LIKES him? I don't get it. He is the poster child for why we need term limits.

Can't enlighten you because I'm not a fan of McConnell but you nailed it, name recognition. It's so much easier to go in the voting booth and mark the name you recognize then it is to actually research the alternative. Term limits are a necessity, serving in Congress was never intended to be a life appointment. Hell, at this point I'd settle for a mandatory retirement age for both congress and the Supreme Court.

I took the raccoons to mean the democrats/political establishment. But I could be wrong.
Not saying I don’t think they’re racist - they obviously are. It’s just not where my mind went when I read the article.

Dude sees the political establishment as those who could not previously get the "job" of removing them done.

Speaking of Mitch McConnell,
Lets all pray that RGB is able to continue to serve, and if a vacancy on the Supreme Court comes up, that Mitch's action on the Garland nomination comes back to bite him in the ass.

The below was posted on Facebook today by a Trump supporter I know. OMG: You've been on vacation for two weeks, you come home, and your basement is infested with raccoons. Hundreds of rabid, messy, mean raccoons have overtaken your basement. You want them gone immediately. You call the city and 4 different exterminators, but nobody can handle the job. But there is this one guy and he guarantees to get rid of them, so you hire him. You don't care if the guy smells, you don't care if the guy swears, you don't care if he's an alcoholic, you don't care how many times he's been married, you don't care if he has a plumber's crack, you simply want those raccoons gone! You want your problem fixed! He's the guy. He's the best! Here's why we want Trump. Yes he's a bit of a jerk; yes he's an egomaniac; but we don't care. The country is a mess because politicians suck, the Republicans and Democrats can be two-faced and gutless, and illegals are everywhere. We want it all fixed! We don't care that Trump is crude, we don't care that he insults people, we don't care that he has changed positions, we don't care that he's been married 3 times, we don't care that he fights with Megyn Kelly and Rosie O'Donnell, we don't care that he doesn't know the name of some Muslim terrorist. This country became weak and bankrupt, our enemies were making fun of us, we are being invaded by illegals, we are becoming a nation of victims where every Tom, Ricardo, and Hasid is a special group with special rights to a point where we don't even recognize the country we were born and raised in; " AND WE JUST WANT IT FIXED ". And Trump is the only guy who seems to understand what the people want. We're sick of politicians, sick of the Democratic Party, the Republican Party, and sick of illegals. We just want this thing fixed . Trump may not be a saint, but we didn’t vote for a Pope. We voted for a man who doesn't have lobbyist money holding him back, a man who doesn't have political correctness restraining him. We all know that he has been very successful, he’s a good negotiator, he has built a lot of things, and he's also not a politician, not a cowardly politician. And he says he'll fix it. And we believe him because he is too much of an egotist to be proven wrong or looked at and called a liar. Also, we don't care if the guy has bad hair. We just want those raccoons gone, out of our house, NOW . You are welcome to pass this on. Thousands of people who haven't voted in 25 years seem to be getting involved. And the more people get this email the more that will understand why Trump was elected. The raccoons have got to go!" ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Don't you just love the line about "we are becoming a nation of victims where every Tom, Ricardo, and Hasid"... Sure backs up their claims that Trump supporters aren't racist at all. Uh huh. Anybody who has declared bankruptcy 4 different times really isn’t that successful. I mean they just really aren’t. fred: I thought it was at least 6 times: www.thoughtco.com/donald-trump-business-bankruptcies-4152019

Well, no different than our own Robert Menendez horrible human being really but keeps getting elected & I have myself to blame for that this time. DH knew him and worked for him in NJ (Union City) many years ago.............. He said that he was great to work with and he created environmental positions for DH to work in because he was interested in it. He did insinuate that there was a lot more to him than he cared to repeat though.

Does anyone find it ironic that the Republicans are pussyfooting around the Steve King issue, when they were so outspoken, demanding the resignation of Franken.
I realize that it involves seperate issues, inappropriate sexual behavior (Franken) vs racist statements (King).
But Franken's actions were many years ago, before the MeToo movement, and when he was a different person and career. I am not excusing his actions, but I think his behavior reflected the culture of his career as a comedian, and not a refection of his character. Republicans immediately and vocally called for his resignation.
King has a lifetime of racist behavior and actions, and not one Republican has called for his resignation, but are only applying sanctions. And I suspect that the sanctions are only because the Republicans are concerned about his performance in the 2020 elections since he barely won in 2018.
And then there is the racist in the WH.

The problem with releasing ALL of the report in full would be, I guess, that there would be matters of national security in the report.....how,where, when as to the proof of the information, crime if there was any and other sensitive information. As far as I know, this is the first time a sitting president has been investigated for being in bed with a foreign government who is not our friend. Add to that the lengths the Republican Party has gone to protect trump, Because of the seriousness of the potential crime, and because the Republicans in Congress can no longer be trusted to put country ahead of party and power, and in order to bring real closure to this period in American History, I truly believe the entire report, sensitive information included, must be released. If not this will fester and erode the trust and the confidence the American People have in their government. And to me, a citizen of this country, I find that more damaging then releasing sensitive information. I understand what you're saying and see your point but you also have to consider where and by which other country's security service that they have gathered info from. I'm pretty sure the US haven't gathered all the info themselves without help from others. I'm sure the other four countries of the " Five Eyes" protect their source and the info they gather and wouldn't be too happy for any of it to be made public.

Trump losing his base over shutdown: www.cnn.com/2019/01/15/politics/white-noncollege-shutdown-polling/index.html"This trend is backed up by a new Quinnipiac poll released Tuesday. Approval for the President remained somewhat stable between its mid-December poll and now among whites without college degrees (down from 56% to 53%), but disapproval increased from 37% to 43%. That is going from a net 19% positive approval to a net 10% for Trump, a 9-point loss. The January CNN poll found a majority of Americans placed most of the blame for the government shutdown on Trump (55%) over the Democrats in Congress (32%). Trump has tried to push back from his December claim that he would be proud to shut the government down."

What really gets me is that human trafficking IS a problem, and he trivializes it by making up these ridiculous stories. It just goes to show that he's far more interested in demonizing those south of the border than in actually helping victims of human trafficking.
