ah, when auntkelly said dinner it reminded me that one pea wrote this really long story about only having a can of "something" for christmas dinner with her daughter. (It was something odd like anchovies maybe? I have a terrible memory! Peas would be too obvious) It was a sweet story. I think they carried on the tradition after they could afford more than the can of whatever the following year. Anyone? Bueller ?? I remember that she was a single mom who worked at McDonald's and was having a difficult time financially. I think it was mushrooms that they ate in an elegant manner, accompanied by Kool-aid, while they watched a Disney video together. It was indeed a very sweet story.

the girl who had a kidney transplant and got pregnant and needed another. There was some sort of blow up because people donated money and she used it to go to Disney? She was from a town near me. Also, Cherryeye? The one who would post nonsensical replies on threads. I loved her. Her identity was outed and she stopped posting.

I remember cherrymoon's (?) drawings. So funny!
And another pea who could take a sample of anyone's handwriting and turn it into a type-able font. I never got around to making mine.

Funny how so many of us remember being hand slapped. I posted something about Kelly Ripa - can’t recall what anymore - and got hammered. I remember the people who piled on (some still here) and those who were kind (also some still here). Words hurt. I got hammered over not liking Parmesan cheese in the green can. One thing the old board taught me was how to communicate better. It taught me to be very clear in my digital communications - make sure the reader understands all of the pronouns (e.g. to which "she" am I referring?); and be extremely careful about how I express myself because people take things the wrong way. I'm often complimented on how I express myself via emails and I absolutely attribute it to learning how to not get slammed at 2peas. I wish I was kidding.

Such funny timing for this thread - I was just thinking about the old board a couple of days ago. I came across two peas around 1998 or 1999 and lurked for a LOOOOONG time since I was very intimidated by some of the hero worship and the hand slapping. I never did post a lot, same as here, but I spent many hours reading. I remember a group of peas who seemed to know one another in real life - I don't remember any names but one poster had a husband/partner in the military and he was posted to Iraq and she was a night auditor, which was a new term for me, perhaps why I remember her. Does anyone remember Starla? Her kids names all had an X in them, her husband was also military and she had the most amazing eye for decorating and she would post pictures of the transformation she would make to their married quarters. I lived in married quarters as well and I was in awe of her talent to make hers so amazing without paint or nails. And how about Hunzer? She was a lot of fun I thought and I was very sad when she posted about her dick of a husband. I remember the dinner threads, not because I was never mentioned, lol, but for the same reasons auntkelly mentioned - there seemed to be a lot of self-esteem issues with some folks, both too big and too small...

The other thing I wonder about sometimes, and I'm not sure if it was nsbr or scrap but there was a lady who had her daughters photos on like 4 Jones soda bottles. She was asking if anyone found them in stores. I always wondered if she found them because I never heard. Back then I thought that was nifty.
Sorry that's pretty random. I'll go back to my schoolwork.

I remember 5 or 6 of us late night peas got into a funny and MILDLY risqué conversation One night. Someone the next morning told us we were tramps....So we all put a “tramp stamp” in our signature line. In the end a few more people joined “the tramps” and then it started to really cross lines into the super inappropriate. A couple of us bowed out....and then the whole group started getting banned left and right.
It was like the Wild West! Lol

Not necessarily talking about the big drama threads, just random little things that made you smile.
I was a lurker for as long as I can remember. Posted a little bit in the early days, but got scared off one day by someone named seanna and reverted to lurking mode . Anyway, I do remember lots of odd bits and pieces from those days, and one of the things that popped into my mind was that pea that determined what everyone tasted like. Remember that? It was cute. People would have at the bottom of their posts 'tastes like a chocolate brownie with raspberry frosting and crushed almond bits on top' or 'tastes like a martini" or stuff like that. That was fun I was lemon meringue pie.

I remember the gal who someone called a Bratz Doll.. her husband or boyfriend was in the military.. I know this was a lot of drama.. and ended up that wasn't even her own picture... that one blew up.. but my bad memory I don't even remember what the deal was.. Maybe the husband/boyfriend 'died' but then there was no such person... This one isn't big, but this one has always sat with me and I don't know why.. always at odds with one pea, Sasha. (Now there is a Sasha that posts here once and a blue moon and not sure if it is the same gal) but we got in some freaking huge fight over Tom Cruise. HAHAHA.. I think I was sticking up for him and she would just keep dissing him... and WHY did I even care.. I have no idea. All I know I did love him back in the day before all the craziness started. But boy it got bad... So so dumb. Omg...I remember that one. Her name was Sydney or something like that. She supposedly had cancer and her boyfriend was deployed in Iraq and she was making him a memory book or something. I remember the pea detectives figured it all out and if I remember correctly, it was some gal who either worked or owned a scrapbook store in Lodi, CA who made up the whole thing? I don't remember what I had for breakfast this morning, but for some reason all that drama is still in my brain pan.

Lots of good old random memories on this thread...thanks!
I remember a younger pea (blonde/newly married) posting about her gyno telling her not to use Always pads or wash her vagina with soap. Seriously reading that now, I sound like a weirdo for remembering it. But, I was a big fan of Always pads (back when I still got my period) and my teen uses them so that memory pops in my head occasionally.

I liked Miss Manners and Threadkiller Jack. Miss Manners was a crackup.
I also hated the "who would you take to dinner" posts. Really? Are we 14?

I love this thread! Some of the things I remember, some of them I don't. I remember a time before it was moderated that it was a great place for sex education. The threads would be started in the late evening usually on the weekend and go for hours with lots of people posting very intimate details. There was no topic that was off limits. Ha! I learned a lot on those posts.

My faves were the threads where a topic here would attract unwitting people from outside 2 Peas (e.g. pit bull owners, but there were others) and the Peas would circle the wagons and totally support each other over the intruder.

I loved Miss Manners and CherryEye. So fun.
I can't think of one specific topic, but I remember so many times sitting late at night just laughing til I cried at so many of the funny threads that seemed to happen late at night.

Not long ago I was watching a movie where MSP was referenced. It was so quick, a normal person wouldn’t have even really noticed it, but for me I instantly remembered all the peas shaving their lady bits with MSP. I was close to doing it myself, but never got up the courage to go through with it.

I came here from scrapjazz. Actually, I'd lurked on the bucket for a really long time, and then one day someone was talking about how great a designer was. I actually won HOF years ago - when it meant something, and I met that designer who treated me like dog shit. So I piped in and said that she hadn't treated me so nicely. I GOT BANNED. LOL I think she was a garden girl. There was probably a mean girl discussion on the GG board over me.
Anyway, I went to scrapjazz and stayed there for several years until they disbanded the swap board. I came over to the bucket and signed up again and lurked a while. Someone really pissed me off one day (shocking) and I just left for a while. Came back after 6-9 months and just changed my name to my name now for a clean start. It worked!
Anyway... I remember the Haikus in the middle of "gate" threads. Those were great.
There was also a pea that was very odd. She was very open sexually and her daughter who was about 15 got pregnant and she was stoked about it. I get celebrating all babies and such, but dang, it was almost like she wanted her to squeeze out kids. I really laid into her several times. God I couldn't stand her. She finally left. I wonder how many grandbabies she has now. Her name started with an S. Something about the ocean. Sea-something I think.

I lurked forever on the old board. Lots of fun and funny memories. I lurked over a hand soap from seanna as well. I can't remember what it was about though. It had something to do with me repeating something someone else had said.
I tended toward the late night peas.

I don't know when, but probably 2002-2005ish, there was a pea who was posting a 'soap opera' thread. It was all fiction, but I believe it started with something crazy that happened to her (maybe with her bf at the time) and it turned into a long thread with everyone commenting, then she just started adding updates (we knew it was all stuff she was making up, that was the great fun of it - we would give her ideas to further the story). It was funny as hell and I remember checking in to see if that day's storyline had been added yet. It was hilarious. But I can't remember her name at all - my memory is awful for names.

I often wondered who really managed/started that hate blog. At one point fingers were pointed at someone who had passed away. That was the big eye opener for me that online forums are not safe spaces. No matter how much it might feel like a community on the surface, it's really not. It really was a disgusting, shameful, and ugly thing. I have a former pea friend who was targeted a few times on that blog and it hurt her badly. She came to scrapbooking and 2peas because she was going through some bad stuff and craved something positive in her life. And she got shit on by a pack of disordered hateful cunts. I'm the one who told her about the place so I felt really guilty about it. It ruined scrapbooking for her. *** Edit, I told her about 2peas and encouraged her to join when she started scrapbooking.

I think her name was Kerri West and she was building the most beautiful house! And there was a big rigmarole over someones child who sprayed a couch with Lysol. I came from Dmarie too! I too remember Kerri West & her beautiful home. She lives here in Texas close by me & she was blasted for having such a nice home. I learned from that post that I would never tell y’all about my newly built home because I didn’t want to be blasted like she was. I also remember Nurse Kitty & all the great hair flips Two Peas had! delila
