Not necessarily talking about the big drama threads, just random little things that made you smile.
I was a lurker for as long as I can remember. Posted a little bit in the early days, but got scared off one day by someone named seanna and reverted to lurking mode . Anyway, I do remember lots of odd bits and pieces from those days, and one of the things that popped into my mind was that pea that determined what everyone tasted like. Remember that? It was cute. People would have at the bottom of their posts 'tastes like a chocolate brownie with raspberry frosting and crushed almond bits on top' or 'tastes like a martini" or stuff like that. That was fun

Ha ha, I don’t remember that 😀 I just remember sneaking over from Scrapbook dot com, carefully keeping a low profile because I’d heard how mean the Peas were then thinking that actually it was much more interesting that SB . com where anything other than rainbows and unicorns was frowned upon 😉

I remember there being one or two peas (not around anymore, I don’t think) who were famous for being the “funny ones”. They could say the most benign things...”I had a tuna sandwich for lunch today”...and people would respond with “Oh my gosh! I just spit iced tea all over my monitor! You are so funny!” I remember feeling concerned that many posters didn’t actually know what “funny” meant.

I came from the creating keepsakes message board. I was scared too. I didn't post for a long time. Then I was stupid enough to post something about a politician. Oh, my. I got slapped good. I still remember her name but I think she's still here so I'm keeping quiet. I still don't like to get slapped!

@missjen that was bellemyprincess. I was just thinking about that the other day! No idea why especially as I never participated. But it was fun to read.

I came over from the aol scrapbook message board. My first pea number was under 100. I lost that number though, when they changed servers or something and I had to re-sign up. I also lurked at dmarie and jangle.
I didn't post frequently. Their were a couple meanies that were rude to me and that turned me off from posting. Not sure if they are here, so will keep their names to myself. But, I will never forget their bully behavior.
One thing I remember is there was always a lady who constantly posted about her husband, Kevin-something?(ismyangel? maybe?) was her use name. She very sweet, but seemed a bit off(neurotic, co-dependent, couldn't function without him), I've always wondered if she was doing okay.

I remember when we lost our first peas...Becki in particular and there was also a young girl who died suddenly. She was only married for a few years and had a young son. I know that someone will know who I'm talking about.

I remember one whose name was Monique (I think) who was an absolutely "upper tier" Pea (that quote is also from the old board). There were definitely others, but she sticks out in my mind. I'm not sure what happened to her, I think she left long before the board shut down.

pea that determined what everyone tasted like I remember that. I also remember a pea that spelled a day of the week differently - I think because of they way her daughter spelled it, something like "Thrusday" or something like that. I remember some of cherrymoon's drawings - those were always great for a laugh.

Challenges when we paper scrapbooked. Some of the peas were very productive scrappers.

I remember Belle, apparently I taste like mangoes. I also remember some lively discussions about merkins and MSP. Cherrymoon's drawing of how to insert a diva cup will always hold a special place in my heart too. Does anyone remember a pea with "smartypants" in her name? I remember she lived in/near NY and had an adorable son with some disabilities. She said something once about wishing our time away (like "I wish it was Friday") - after she lost her mom (I think), that's something that has always stuck with me. I often wonder how she and her son are doing now. Tempe and the kitten heels is always good for an eye rolling laugh too...

I remember a poster named kinberlydobbs. The woman had the mind-boggling ability to turn the most random treads into anti-abortion discussions. Seriously, ANYTHING. 'I hate brussels sprouts'. 'You know what I hate? ABORTION.' I am not kidding, it was that random sometimes.

I often wondered who really managed/started that hate blog. At one point fingers were pointed at someone who had passed away.

He was around 3, we were in a bathroom at a minor league baseball game; I was trying to pee while juggling a purse/diaperbag trying to keep him from getting down on the nasty floor and he kept trying to open the stall to escape. Eventually I gave him a swat on the hand. I'm not sure what possessed me to post about it, maybe I was looking for a way to prevent a repeat, not sure. Anyhow, I don't remember who said what just that some peas were supportive/understanding/helpful and others laid into me for hitting my kid. That kid will be 18 in a few months; I should ask him if that swat damaged him, he's never mentioned it but maybe he just doesn't want to relive the trauma

I remember all of these except Kevin’s wife. The thing that sticks in my mind most was the worship people had for Brooklyn. That always creeped me out. I remember when she came back under an assumed name and was outed, the whole thing was weird.
I remember the taste lady as well although I was too scared to see what I tasted like, I was afraid she would say licorice or beets. Did she really have the thing where words have taste or was it just a fun thing she did? I did lurk mostly, though. I found two peas right after it opened and what I remember most fondly was the gallery.

Funny how so many of us remember being hand slapped. I posted something about Kelly Ripa - can’t recall what anymore - and got hammered. I remember the people who piled on (some still here) and those who were kind (also some still here). Words hurt.

schizo319 her peaname was MrsSmartypants. I remember her well. She lived with her husband and son in an apartment and was an obsessive cleaner. She also started a business photographing boxing matches.

That's funny that you remember it (or something similar). It's such a random, non-event which is why I put it in this thread. It did impact my posting style though, I often put my foot in my mouth and try to avoid that online where the glorious internet remembers *everything*.

I remember it feeling like jr. high at times at the old board.. About once a week someone would start a “What peas would you like to have dinner with” thread. The same peas would be named over and over.
Some of the peas everyone wanted to have dinner with were consistently nice, but others were some of the meanest peas on the board. (Just like in jr. high, everyone fears the mean girl, but wants to be friends with her).
The popular peas would gush about everyone wanting to have dinner with them.
Then needy peas would start posting and say “No one knows who I am. No one wants to have dinner with me.”
Nice peas would assure the needy peas they knew who they were and would love to have dinner with them, but the mean peas would ignore the needy peas. The mean peas probably made a note on their spreadsheets to be mean to the needy peas soon.
I always thought those threads were entertaining, even though nobody wanted to go to dinner with me.😢😢😢

I remember childofgrace talking about ironing her underwear. I hope she’s doing alright and not obsessively checking the old board for it to work again.

I remember the gal who someone called a Bratz Doll.. her husband or boyfriend was in the military.. I know this was a lot of drama.. and ended up that wasn't even her own picture... that one blew up.. but my bad memory I don't even remember what the deal was.. Maybe the husband/boyfriend 'died' but then there was no such person...
This one isn't big, but this one has always sat with me and I don't know why.. always at odds with one pea, Sasha. (Now there is a Sasha that posts here once and a blue moon and not sure if it is the same gal) but we got in some freaking huge fight over Tom Cruise. HAHAHA.. I think I was sticking up for him and she would just keep dissing him... and WHY did I even care.. I have no idea. All I know I did love him back in the day before all the craziness started. But boy it got bad... So so dumb.

ah, when auntkelly said dinner it reminded me that one pea wrote this really long story about only having a can of "something" for christmas dinner with her daughter. (It was something odd like anchovies maybe? I have a terrible memory! Peas would be too obvious) It was a sweet story. I think they carried on the tradition after they could afford more than the can of whatever the following year.
Anyone? Bueller ??
